Thanks for the tutorial! For some reason my snow is being added to the bottom of my object instead of falling on the top planes. Ive made sure to apply all transformations to the object but I'm still having the same result. Am I missing something simple?
Nice. Im a bit curious though, my snow is so reflective.. it looks like ice cream or plastic almost. Am I using my lights wrong or do I need to tweak it in the shader?
@@andrewmaher_art Im guessing you meant bump map? Im relatively new to nodes, so for all I know there might be nump map too, haha :) Thanks. Ill try. Reducing specularity on my lights also helped a lot. I have too many lights, one pr window in a house with lots of windows.
When I try to add snow blender just freezes and sits there. I can move my mouse around and do other stuff but it just sits there and does nothing. I get it is probably loading the snow in the background but every time I try it doesn't work. Some times blender just crash's. Any Ideas?

If your PC allows it, bump up the subdivision modifier to 4 and see magic happen!
yessh, that polycount though, a bit high for merely covering a lil ground like this one with snow

In my case, snow looks good only in EEVEE renderer. In Cycles, it looks shiny and smooth like ice.
I did that but the snow looks like something grayish and extremely smooth, what happened?

check if your normals are correct ;) just google „fix normals in blender“ and you‘ll find some solutions. pretty sure that’s the issue.
Should have mentioned the subdivision option in order to add more detail with displacement and bump enabled.

it sounds like it'll be a node edit, maybe the nump map to change it? I haven't used it yet 🙂

This addon makes a lot geometry. I tried to cover a mountain with a snow and it made around 1m verts
