The issue I have with these kind of accessories is, one - a lot of the functionality is simply not needed(the PS5 does not require any kind of additional cooling solution), and two - they often look so dam cheap and nasty. Unfortunately this monstrosity fulfils both of these criteria.
The most interesting part of this is actually the temp sensor where maybe further down to the end of the PS5s lifecycle we could be hitting the limit of its capabilities and the temperature can give an idea of how hard it’s working and even if there some instance of thermal throttling. This is probably one of the best cooling stands for the PS5 so I can see why you chose to review. Everyone is so quick to be negative without even watching the entire video. Nice review NXGamer I appreciate the effort in showing me something I hadn’t considered before 👌
This is a first I believe? I don't think I've seen you review an external device like this for a console? An SSD is probably the closest thing I think you've reviewed? Anyway I'm looking forward to watching it later on tonight 👍🏽
I do not do these often, but thought it may be of interest to my audience and I asked for a discount code to make it worth it rather than anything else. I did do a Battery Charger for Venom a few years ago now that had a cinematic, comedy start. This one:- th-cam.com/video/GI9P_utuCzI/w-d-xo.html
For me this is so lame It's like ignoring all the work done by the Porsche engineer and putting on giant wheels, changing the suspension and opening holes in the fairing for air intake.
I get people’s knee jerk reaction to be cynical, but I believe you when you say it isn’t a paid ad. Because it’s legally required to say if something is an ad or not. That didn’t use to be the case.
Why even bother to review something like this, Michael? It must be sponsored but it’s sad to see you reviewing Chinese Junk, the kind of stuff that Amazon is filled with and that literally every PS5 user can do without. Glad to see you posting on your main channel and I know you’re a one man operation but do you really think your audience is interested in a product like that?
As per other comments, no sponsor, no deal and if I had one I would state. This is like many of my reviews on SSD's, Cards, LED etc just done to gauge what my audience may like and offer a discount if I can. Nothing more, cheers.
No money here, I did it to offer something to my audience as I never know what they may like. Same as the Steam Deck SSD, Elgato Capture card, RGB Active Light system and many more. If I was paid and this was sponsored I would say it, as I always do as I am transparent.
Does my PS5 shut down without warning when it loses power due to excessive heat? When I started playing The First Decendant, the game would frequently force close due to application errors. If no to both of these questions, then the PS5 should only require adequate space for heat protection.
Usually if the PS5 is overheating, you will get an on-screen pop-up informing you that the PS5 is too hot. If you suspect this is happening, it’s worth cleaning out the fin stack which can be accessed easily by taking off the side panels and unscrewing the fan. There’s also holes that you can vacuum out that will clear the console of excess dust. Also worth thinking about where your PS5 is located, if it’s inside an entertainment center, might be worth relocating the console to somewhere with more ventilation. What you experienced with the First Descendants was just application errors causing the game to crash, not indicative of cooling issues. Some games just aren’t stable at launch.
@@jedimindtrickonyou3692 Thanks for the very thorough explanation. I am relieved to know the fact that a notification will appear if the unit has unacceptable heat. I guess the error I experienced was a problem on the game side. I clean the main unit and the fan area every six months and place the unit in a location with good air circulation. The application errors I experienced in the past were a few times with the Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart when it was first released.
Extra cooling simply isnt needed. I remember the old 360 cooling addon that melted the console and voided the warranty.
Not a fan of third party peripherals personally but nice to see a review ❤

Bro where you been?
This looks handy.. Thanks for the info Mike :)

@@NXGamer cheers I'll watch that later
Michael lemme send you a duster and some wipes my guy.

Do edge controllers work in the charger
My PS5 always runs cool because I leave enough space around it, and it's over engineered with vents and fans already

Have to agree with the above. I love your content man, but this is just missed judged tat. You’re better than that.
Lol get that money NX.
