I agree, they have called you out to diagnose & fix the issues that their previous mechanic has failed to do on multiple occasions but then they won't let you do what's required to fix it. But it also makes you question if what they telling you about the previous mechanics is true. Maybe have a set fee for a call out & diagnostics without performing any mechanical work to fix said issues.
I can’t understand someone paying tens of thousands for a car and then let it go to pieces? My car is 12 years old now with 230,000 miles on it and it’s still running like a dream. But I maintain it myself as I’m fairly competent as a diy mechanic, no small thanks to videos from Jimmy mind! The trouble with that kind of car owner is that when the temporary fix fails, they’ll bad mouth Jimmy to the next mechanic who they ask to fix their car on the cheap without doing a proper repair. Fair play to your patience Jimmy. I’d have wished her the best of luck and walked away.
Hi, nice job. Unfortunately many people do not realize everything that is related to the DPF system. As for the misconfiguration of the hoses that you repaired, it's incredible that no one has seen it before. Thank you for this interesting video.
My guess is that the boyfriend after several forced regens of the DPF gave up, called you in to fix the problem but didn't want to pay 😢 My guess nothing will be done about the glowplugs or the broken pipe untill the car breaks down. Great bodge with the adblue filler. 👍
So annoying when they don’t want you to do the work needed - but you may have dodged a bullet as those glowplugs as you know will be a pain to remove , found with that brake pressure sensor fault , her stop start function is probably not working - if the warning light comes up on dash, great video again as always 👍👍
Thanks for the vidéo. On bmw engines you have to replace the full glow plug systèm (relay, glow plugs) because it s necessary for the régénération (spécific for bmw). Without, the dpf won't régénérate correctly
Some people who just can’t help you got your tools out why don’t people listen to good advice and get the job done I suffer with idiots all day like you do. Well done buddy are you shouldn’t have to board anything for the job worth doing it’s worth doing right 👍👍🍺🍺⭐️⭐️👏👏👏
Not an ideal situation when they wont let you carry out the works required. But it also makes you question if what they told you about the previous mechanics, when they asking you to do bodges & not whats actually required to fix things.
These one pipe sensors use a comparison between barometric pressure ie atmospheric pressure and exhaust gas pressure to calculate dpf soot content and how successful dpf regeneration has been common fault on vag cars changed a fair few in my time
Well back again now I’ve got a dpf light 70g of ash 2g of soot after a regen and glow plugs replaced. Now I’m looking into motip cleaner so do I put it into the same place you did thanks. Update tried it nothing happened ash is just the same car just bogged down under acceleration
I hate it when people say things like "I don't want them faults fixing just get it going" as for that PCV pipe split I wouldn't have repaired it like that I would have just pulled the pipe off put a piece of plastic bag over it and pushed the pipe back in to block the excess air getting into the engine as for the oil fumes coming through the PCV let them breath them in, you know what's going to happen is when it blocks up again because them other faults aren't rectified they start calling you dodgy because that fault is back.
It is a common problem with these sensors. It might be a cause of dpf blockage or too frequent regeneration (found it on couple bmw). Excuse my poor English, it's not my native language.
well done jimmy, i think her boyfriend must be incompetent the codes were there to see the problems? i have a feeling it will be back with you in a few weeks because none of the repairs will be completed!
Any of you guys know why my differential pressure sensor would be reading -47 psi. When I’m pulling my trailer at 3.5 tonne it goes to -44 psi. It has just come back from the garage and they did a forced regeneration. Charged me £180. My regent is happening every 12 miles and nothing has changed I really feel cheated. Checked the EGR valve my self with my code reader and it reads actual and commanded exactly the same. I have also smoke tested the intake and no leaks. I am worried to take it to another garage who don’t understand what they are doing id rather have a go myself. I have no codes showing. Thanks guys and girls. Ps it’s a Isuzu D max 2014
After 4 unsuccessful regeneration, I would start the job with an oil change. Guess who is going to be blamed and who is going to receive a bad review if anything happens with the engine. I would avoid customers like this one, and it would be the last job for them. It's just my opinion, I,m doing same type of job. Good luck!
Not really getting why they didn't get you to do the lot , must have cost them more with the previous attempts . Interesting , watched a few of yours now , subscribed 👍
First thing I thought before you even poked it was "does this yoke even have an air filter??" I'd be walking away from muppetry like this Jimmy tbh. If they whinge about getting a proper air-hose repair, they'll whinge about paying for any & all repairs no matter what you do. "Bye Now...Go back to the usual place... " "He can do everything except the DPF.." well he couldn't do a bloomin air-box, so yeah, roish...
Not letting someone to fix the issues that are causing the problem is stupid. It goes to show if you don't keep on top of maintenance then you'll expect to pay more when a problem persists without fixing it way beforehand...
Please come and fix it because the last garage could not but only do part of the fix because the old garage can do the rest, even though ai just said they cant fix it. Makes no sense. Like the old guy last week rang me to say he has lost my phone number.
Looking at the dirt and lack of maintenance in the engine compartment I don't think this car has been looked after. You try to help customer's like this and they don't trust you.
stupidity, you pay a man to do a job then refuse to let him do what is needed, they then blame you when the problem isn't resolved. i have had this myself
Some people are really stupid. She’s wasted time & money with a mechanic who can even see a broken air pipe. Then she doesn’t want you to do the job properly 🙄
Why bring car for you to fix then say u can't do the repairs people always amazes me people don't want to fix there cars but waste money on other non essential stuff when there cars get them to work or gets them places
I understand you were at the call and you need to be paid, and the customer is always right 😂🙄 But taking it back to the garage that couldn’t fix it in the first place is typical female logic.
Yeh if you dont want a mechanic to do the repairs, dont call them to come look at your car. So she wants the ‘mechanic’ who has tried previously numerous times to fix the car and he is clearly clueless and out his depth. I wouldnt even of told the customer what the problem was unless they let me do it. Time waster.
Great video. I would have politely refused to continue with the repair. I don't think they deserve your skills 😢
I agree, they have called you out to diagnose & fix the issues that their previous mechanic has failed to do on multiple occasions but then they won't let you do what's required to fix it.

NO, he needs to break the cycle of incompetence

A shocking state of affairs all round there Jimmy, you certainly went above and beyond the call of duty.
Genius MacGyver on-the-spot hose repair. Your attitude in general has helped me immeasurably in approaching my engine. Thank you.
That’s the type of customer you don’t need Jimmy 👿
My guess is that the boyfriend after several forced regens of the DPF gave up, called you in to fix the problem but didn't want to pay 😢

Great bodge with the adblue filler. 👍
Great Job there mate, Thanks for all your uploads, they are really educational,
Glad you like them!

On off the best bodges I’ve seen in a long time you could dedicate a new channel for the bodges seen 😂
Great job Jimmy!! can't afford to maintain the car properly?? Always a pleasure watching your videos "young man" Thanks
Thanks 👍
that snapped pipe just gone on my exact same car as this...got new one and going to fit it this weekend!
Thanks for the vidéo. On bmw engines you have to replace the full glow plug systèm (relay, glow plugs) because it s necessary for the régénération (spécific for bmw).

It was throwing low battery alerts, maybe as the alternator charged the battery it fixed the weird sensor reading
Some people who just can’t help you got your tools out why don’t people listen to good advice and get the job done I suffer with idiots all day like you do. Well done buddy are you shouldn’t have to board anything for the job worth doing it’s worth doing right 👍👍🍺🍺⭐️⭐️👏👏👏
thats a good point, but, there are so many cowboys out there. customers dont know what good advice is!!
respect for helping them despite themselves, shows your integrity and professionalism.
Thanks

Correct 👍🏻
Great work jimmy 👍👍✅
It's a shame some folk mistreat their possessions this way.
Don't understand people calling you out if not willing do what is coursing the problem dpf only block again 👍👍
More common than you think

Thank you! Cheers!
I think the foam backing up into the sensor would affect it's reading. Which would explain why after a bit of time it levelled out.
Its never happened before
@@ORileysAutos Yeah very odd

Excuse my poor English, it's not my native language.
I was thinking the same
Hi there, I have this engine and that gauze in the pipe, I have removed as I have the K and N filter in the filter box. should I put it back in?
Really enjoying all the content, what areas of the UK do cover.. ?
Bedfordshire
King.🤙
Spot on as usual
Thanks again!
Hey the man got a question were do you get all your wieing diagrams from or reckomend as i have issues with my q7 🤬🤬🤬🤬
well done jimmy, i think her boyfriend must be incompetent the codes were there to see the problems? i have a feeling it will be back with you in a few weeks because none of the repairs will be completed!

Hi would you be able to pint me in the right direction of a P14A3 fault on the same car please ?
That’s funny I’ve got wind problems and I’m indoors 😂😂😂😂😂
IT'S CALLED 'ENFORCED LOYALTY', WHEN A GARAGE DEMANDS A CUSTOMER USES THEIR SERVICES, EVEN WHEN THE CUSTOMER KNOWS THEY'RE INCOMPETENT .
First thumbs up 👍🏻 before even watching the video
Yay! Thank you!
I'd have walked on this one.
Customers .........Some are as thick as a brick. You just cannot help them, because they know better or want to save a £ 1 !
That parts like £17 I had to change mine as the previous owner had electrical taped it up
After 4 unsuccessful regeneration, I would start the job with an oil change. Guess who is going to be blamed and who is going to receive a bad review if anything happens with the engine.

My thoughts exactly
Badly maintained car, no way will that stuff get fixed
Maybe just didn’t have the cash
BMW's and likely the Mini will not do a regen if there are glow plug issues, A glow plug problem will abort the DPF regen program.
Nice work Jimmy,
Customers eh!!! Don't you love ummm
You got that right!
@@ORileysAutos, 😂
Awsome 🤙
Thanks Baz 🍻
Do you do jobs in Surrey I have mini like on the vide. And it may need your htlp
Only Bedfordshire area if you can meet here
Can’t understand the logic of refusing to have the glow plugs changed when your already there ! Just putting off the inevitable
She probably thinks her boyfriend will do it cheaper or free now that Jimmy has diagnosed the problem properly.
178,000 miles?
I've got one almost identical to this. 71k miles. I bought it on 68.7k, hoping it might get to about 95-100k, but 178k...
Why the hell would they call you out to fix it?
Her boyfriend said he can fix the other issues just want me to do dpf as he don't have the tools
First thing I thought before you even poked it was "does this yoke even have an air filter??" I'd be walking away from muppetry like this Jimmy tbh. Why the owner won't let you repair it is beyond me.
Sadly they have probably been stung by previous mechanics, people then loose confidence and think he’s trying to upswell/look for problems.
Please come and fix it because the last garage could not but only do part of the fix because the old garage can do the rest, even though ai just said they cant fix it.

I don't think the other guys are charging her as her boyfriend works at a garage
Nightmare some customers are
Some mechanic her bf must be to not go fault finding 😂 lol good job
Her boyfriend is related to Frank Spenser
Bad move, as anything you do now will turn into your fault down the road. You should have turned down the job.
I've sent the details over text and had them confirm via text what they want and what they declined. Also have my video evidence
Why she wouldn’t get it done by a mechanic who obviously knows what he’s doing be back on the phone to you next week
Why bring car for you to fix then say u can't do the repairs people always amazes me people don't want to fix there cars but waste money on other non essential stuff when there cars get them to work or gets them places

You should of just left it
hi mate
got an iphone 8 that needs a screen replacement
reckon you can squeeze me in asap?
you know, considering you are a "mobile" mechanic ;)))
Probably skint, walk away, not worth the agg.
