Releases that impressed me in 2021: the Breitling Premier B25 Datora with salmon dial and the Zenith Chronomaster Sport (white dial). Both were compared to other watches, but no one is allowed to own a 3 subdial layout or a color scheme, so I just enjoy both of these because they look amazing. For hands-down horological achievement, you have to cite the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Hybris Mechanica Calibre 185. This thing can tell you things about the moon's position that you don't even understand. It's got 4 different faces on one watch! Unbelievable.
Explain that whole brand to me ? Because all the watches look like on purpose less finished Rolex so that you know every single time that you bought it because you could not afford a Rolex
@@theshadowman1398 Tudor is in my opinion the progressiv sister of a very successful and conservative brand. Tudors quality is not far away from Rolex. And some models are amazing designed. The silver case and the Taupe color of the dial is outstanding, a statement of coolness. There is no similar model in the Rolex world. I purchased the ceramic BB and put the 925 on my wrist, just for fun. I left the shop surprisingly with two BB. First time I purchased two watches at the same time.

I haven’t cared this little about a Tiffany since Grant Mitchell’s wife got vehicularly mullered by Frank Butcher. My personal favourite this year has been the Marine Nationale Pelagos. I acquired a BB58 gilt / steel strap a few weeks ago for my birthday. Very impressed. I was on a waiting list though for about 5 months. Worth the wait.
For me, one of the best is the Breitling Premier Duograph. An in house split seconds chronograph with a classic design and chronometer certification... Yes please
I know it’s not a 2021 watch per se but I got a brand spanking new Omega Seamaster 300 professional black and white for a very good deal and while it wasn’t the blue and grey I wanted the watch has grown on me and I absolutely love it
I watched(!) a Teddy Baldassarre review of the Vostok Amphibia and I was sold. Waited patiently for it to arrive from Russia and I wasn't disappointed. I paid more than the quoted $41 but it is a gem of a watch.
My top would be the Zenith Chronomaster Sport, followed closely by the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic. I'd also note the Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope and the Tudor Pelagos FXD. Worst by far is that hideous Patek/Tiffany monstrosity. Awesome vid, guys! Love the banter.
2 highlights of the year for me. Grand Seiko's White Birch: the dial a bit OTT for my taste, although amazing, but the 9SA5 movement inside is technically stunning and with a level of finishing that is next level for the brand. Second shout to Moser & Cie for the watch that looks like an Apple smart watch but is actually genuine high horology. Have to recognise the kahunas in that!

Quite honestly, I don’t think even the regular Nautilus is worth the money PP charge for it. I think it’s a boring piece of design from a less than stellar period of industrial design.

Serica 5303 and Direnzo DRZ 05 Solaris is my pick for 2021. Serica 5303 has their unique design language, professional 300m, unique bracelet, and that James Bond vibes. Direnzo DRZ 05 Solaris also has their own unique design language, it is just beautiful.
Frederique Constant Monolithic Manufacture movement was the highlight for me. Shame they didn't put in the Highlife case... also shame that Rolex announced some new colours the day after, and the watch world lost its mind over that instead

My top pick would probably be the FC with the new 40hz monolithic movement. Although I don't really dig the Watch Design, the movement is an absolute game changer and I am excited to see more of it in 2022.
It really is a gigantic advancement in horology that isn’t getting the attention it deserves. It just seems like a straight up superior mechanical escapement technology.
My biggest surprise was finding the Casio Oceanus line, specifically the Indigo collection. Picked up an S5000AP before I could talk myself out of it. ;)
Seiko 'Save the Ocean' at 13.35 looks more aptly nick-named the 'Penguin', although, I see where one might think 'Polar Bear'. The black and gold is a tough choice between that and it's little brother, the Orient Neptune.
That’s the absolute best in my view. A monster movement, excellent looks. The price point is relatively high of course, but I think that other “better known” watch brands, better known in terms of general market, would have charged much more for this beast.
The MTG-B2000XMG is absolutely stunning in person and a bargain when compared to anything in the 1,000 USD/pound price range. It looks like a Richard Mille in essence instead of another retro knockoff, and that's why I love it. The perfect second daily when you want something different that any watch lover will appreciate when viewed on wrist. Love the channel. Cheers.

I own a Glashutte Original perpetual calendar that drips high horology far more than most of the tool watches snobs wear these days and I find the MTG an excellent choice, especially for a premium tool watch. The hate comes from those not understanding why you'd pay a premium for a Casio, which is how I feel about any piece designed to be used in a rough/tool manner. At least these are truly tank-like with finishing that is better than anything for 1,000USD while not being not another awful retro clone.
My favorite watch for 2021 is my ORIS 65 (blue dial) Diver on a black Barton Silicone Elite strap. Wonderful vintage look and fits like a glove. It opened my eyes to previously owned watches too. They can be a great bargain.

I have to say the Cyberpunk hate is way to much. I could play the game for 180 hours and never encountered a bug that made a quest not doable. But that was the case for every Bethesda game, including Skyrim, a game that is universally loved. And btw the GTA comparison is also very bad. Cause in GTA you go to a yellow dot on the map and have to do the quest in exactly one way, while in Cyberpunk you could approach every quest from multiple angles. I just dislike the hate, the game was fantastic.
My AD was finally able to get me the Tudor Black Bay "Inverted Panda".....was a miracle! Not sure how he got it for me, but he admitted he pulled quite a few strings. I will admit that I love it. Such a great watch......totally agree with your opinion of it.

I see some of us fine folks of WCJ made it here, Ok Ciao. My favorites of 2021 are the GS GMT 44GS 55th Anniversary, VC Overseas everest & the updated Omega Seamaster 300 with the lollipop hands. My least favorites are the green Nautilus, the duel tone Explorer and the 1959 alpinist reissue.
This year, many are lazy , choosing colours instead of giving us design innovations. But there a few to note, like Hublot’s brave collaborations, Parmigiani simplicity approach, Cartier’s return of Le Must, and Chopard 8hz super Eagle to say the least.

The Tiffany sold for $6.5m as a tax write off...I'm sure. Remember, this went to charity. The watch had very little to do with the final price.

Tudor 925 is much nicer than the chrono. The silver is subtlety different to steel, yet it just pings when compared
