  • I talked a little bit about reselling items on Ebay and how I came across these items that were an Amazon return but mostly I talked about how to unlock a locked seat belt. I even destroy one completely so we can see inside the mechanism.

    I was hesitant to purchase an open box carseat but it came in excellent condition and saved $35. Box was damaged as stated before I purchased it, but the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxIxQe7nPH74g_xtI5NgiE9-zpGNkfgovw car seat looks brand new and I don't think it was ever used. I will update of course if I have any issues with this carseat but I don't think I will. Also it is surprisingly lightweight, the handle feels secure unlike my previous EvenFlo that was gifted to us. Love it !

    I was just lying in my bed, ready to sleep, then TH-cam prompted me your video, the second hand seatbelt just 4 meter away, sold to me already damaged ... so I thought ... It was midnight ... but I couldn't resist and had to I tried ... and I won the game...
    Now I can sleep well

    You are a genius! We got the strip replaced and got it back stuck. You saved us a trip back to the seat belt place plus two days, because it’s Saturday today and they reopen on Monday only. We would never worked out how it works without your video. Thank you very much!

    Fantastic, the little ball housing had some debris in mine so it wouldn't release the belt. Carefully cleaned it up with a little paper towel and a sharp pointy knife and as good as new!!!

    Thank you!!! I removed my seatbelts when installing a new floor on a 2011 Sierra and you solved the problem of two retracted seatbelts.

    Chris U are my new best friend starting right now.
    My seat belt didn't work and there are a lot of factors why seat belt doesn't work and many ways how to fix it and the way how u fix it is the easiest way and has to be the number way how to fix it. That is the right way to fix and if in the way u fix it doesn't work then people can fix it in other ways.
    I saw many many videos and non of them work to fix but urs really works like magic so this is a quote ""when ur common sense says not, U have to have faith""
    So thank you.

    A boring delivery, but stick with it- the explanation makes the cure completely understandable. I had been told all you have to do is shake it, but there's nothing like an actual demonstration. Thanks!

    Dude you save my live! I could not believe that because of the horizontal way I was holding it and pulling it out was actually the problem, and when I put it vertically again it retracted itself back. Thnks mate!

    Thanks for this video, it saved me much time. I thought I might have to buy a new belt. On a Golf Mk2 the belt mechanism is mounted at an angle so I couldn't just hold it upright. I had to refit it on the car and then everything worked as it should. Really useful to see it with the covers off so that I could understand how it worked. Do they really have seat belts on Golf Karts???

    the little pissy piece of plastic isnt doing the locking,. that is activating the cam inside that white gear to push teh metal locking teeth out into the metal frame. the ball bearing is just the roolover lock, which stops the plastic gear turning respective to the belt drum, wich makes the metal locking gear slap out just as it would do in a centrifugal event. Very clever design .

  • @caspertheghost6320
    @caspertheghost6320 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, so the question is how do you permanently correct the ball to fall into place so it wont get stuck again. I cant keep opening the panels and uninstall the seatbelt to rattle it everytime it gets stuck. How did it get stuck in the first place or how did the ball misaligned to lock the seatbelt?

    • @ChrisJChaney
      @ChrisJChaney  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the seat belt mechanism is installed level and is perpendicular to the floor it would never require disassembly in fact the manufacturer tells you to correct the problem buying installing it onto a board that is level insecure generally the problem only occurs on a unit that hasn't been installed yet. If it gets stuck and it's in your car already and most likely the car was jolted otherwise you should be able to just pull it slowly very slowly in short burst with possible tapping on the unit.

    I tried this but it still doesn’t unlock, i just bought them today brand new. Someone help ?😣

    • @ChrisJChaney
      @ChrisJChaney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you arent able to finesse the tiny ball back into place to unlock it then attach it to a 2x4 or plywood that is 100% level (like a fence post). it must be perpendicular to the ground and LEVEL, not before but once it is in "perfect positionn", pull lightly and it will unclock. ....good luck.
