Back in the day bands had to be able to stand on stage and sing great songs. That was it. And it was so much better than the music today. It came from the heart and soul. I surely do miss the good ole days.
I just love their tongue-in-cheek approach exemplified in this, Silvia's Mother, and When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman. I detected it when I was a youngster first watching them on TV and I still see it. Thumbs up if you agree.
You know I will be 56 yrs young this comming July.... I remember the seventies sure I was young. TV signed off right after midnight... Until the midnight special that is just remembering back when life had no worries that is until the 80's when HIV Aids was the talked about world wide . It only scared (worried) with what if.....?(my wife was given blood after given birth to our first born 1982) She could of been given tainted blood . ? My oldest is 38....2 grand children,My ex wife remarried, and my 14 year old daughter tells that nobody listen to that kind of music any more.. And that I am stuck in the 70's.. Well I know one thing for sure they don't make cars like they did back then and they sure don't make (write /sing) music like it was back then. I am just happy to be part of that era.. Alot has changed just in the last year with everybody panicking about covid.... But you know just put my head phones on and listen to some 70's music sure brings back alot of good times with friends & family that are no longer here. Life is to short even if I live as long as my Grandparents did at 81.... Guess I have 26 more years to enjoy the 70's

RIP, Roy Sawyer. I met them backstage in Chicago in 1980. I was 14 years old and these guys had the respect to know I was much too young for their ideas. I had gone backstage to get an autograph and in doing so I realized that the guy that opened the gates for me and my friend had different plans for us. Mr. Sawyer and his band were very respectful and sent us off with souvenirs and autographs. I met him again at a concert in Florida years later and sat and talked with him after the show. Nice guy.
Today's kids do not have the quality music we had as teenagers. This incredible band made playing music fun. They had a blast, we had a blast. Dr. Hook was and will always be one of the greatest bands of the 70's. R.I.P. Ray.

I met my beautiful wife when she was 16 back in 1980. We married four years later and We are both in our sixty’s now and happier than ever. Thank you my sweet Darlin for spending your life with me. xx
I'm 75 and these are the songs that kept me going raising 2 kids, going through a divorce, trying to survive. The kids and I would listen to Dr. HOOK and we still do sometimes with their families. Always brings smiles and sometimes tears. Thanks Ray and Dennis.
One of the stand out bands of the 70's. They had great songs, were great singer/musicians and fantastic entertainers. They don't make them like this anymore. God bless them.

I remember knowing all the words to the songs, and I was surely under 10 years old. So fun. My mom and dad gave me the gift of music, for which I'll always be grateful! Yes, they were good, right?
Love Dr Hooks She was only sixteen❤ started going with my hubby at 16. We were married almost 49 years, sadly he passed away. Good memories.❤ Good old days and good old songs.
I’m sure he left quite a hole in your life, sorry to hear that part, but glad you had those years. It’s always good to hear of a long marriage, that’s as it should be. With the right people, marrying young is much better. You aren’t yet set in your ways, you grow together, and you have each other through times which are otherwise difficult to navigate alone. And your more of life’s memories, those teen and early twenties include each other. What a wonderful thing that is. 😊💕
This guy's voice is incredible! True talent and you could tell that they were having fun. Miss the good old days. Thank you guys for bringing your talent and hard work to us .❤❤❤❤

Definitely one of the best cover versions of a Sam Cooke classic! A very tasteful interpretation. Dr Hook were a Brilliant and underrated band. Dennis was a gifted and sensitive vocalist and most of the songs were written by the multi talented Shel Silverstein, a superb (and slightly insane) writer and lyricist admired by Dylan.

Hello how are you?
I married my husband when I was 16 he was 19 .. still married 47 yrs ❤️
I remember hearing this song when was 11. That was the year it came out.
IT'S 2021 AND I STILL LOVE YOU. DR HOOK. 💕🎸🎶
Hi Rhonda
2023 and I still love you too, Dr. Hook.
2024 still
Just heard this song for the first time, today. Sad, happy, sweet. All at the same time.
What a voice.
Nice. Dr. Hooks’s songs are very sweet and sound, Dennis has this magical voice and lyrics that I love 🤍 Their songs will never be forgotten in this world. Since when I’ve you been listening to Dr. Hooks’s songs?
Definitely one of the best cover versions of a Sam Cooke classic! A very tasteful interpretation. Dr Hook were a Brilliant and underrated band. Dennis was a gifted and sensitive vocalist and most of the songs were written by the multi talented Shel Silverstein, a superb (and slightly insane) writer and lyricist admired by Dylan.
WOW! I forgot how good he could sing and how many hits they had!
Hi Cynthia
