    Today we got another glute and hamstring workout on the agenda! This workout is meant to be challenging and you should really be pushing yourselves with your weight choices! Don't be afraid to lift heavy and challenge yourself!! If you want to build the booty you got to put in the work. You got this!

    My foot snags on the ground when I do kickbacks as well, such a smart tip with the plate under your supporting leg!

    Always love your lower body videos, since I don't do BB squats and you always have great tips to still get a killer workout without them :) The new hip thrust machine looks so much more comfortable then having a bench on your back...

      Hunter Chilton maybe i’m not using that hip thrust machine properly? bc i have it at my gym and was excited to use it too and i feel like i don’t feel it in my glutes like i do using a barbell. tips?

      Oh no!😣 You could still do this at home with a bit of tweaking! Swap barbell for DBs, use banded or DB hip thrusts instead of machine, use band or db in place of plate, Use long band or short band for cable variations. You will also probably have to do more reps per set depending on weights you have access to and the movement. I know it’s not a home workout in the vid but I hope that helps💪

    Omg hey Hunter it’s been forever! I am in bed currently sore as hell from my glute day today 🤣 wish I would’ve seen this first because I would’ve done some straddle squats. I used to hold the dumbbell from the top and it just didn’t give me the ROM I needed. Now I know how to do it correctly for full ROM next time 👌🏼

    The glute drive helps me go heavier because I noticed it helps me maintain my form. Barbell hip thrusts I tend to lose my proper form & I feel it in my back :( switched to that machine and I can do 285! The whole video is awesome too btw ty!

    Hey, great video as usual. I'd like to see a video on tips to improve and help with lifting heavy (for example tips for grip strenght and such) if you think that would be worth while! Thanks anyways

      The best way to build grip strength is to just keep lifting heavy and also avoid using grips/straps when applicable. It will build over time. If your not interested in building raw grip strength and just want to be able to lift heavy for higher reps then you can use grips or straps when needed! All just depends on your goals.
      I can also try to come up with some more for a video maybe! Thanks for the idea💪

    when i use the hip thrust machine i don’t feel it in my glutes maybe because i’m too short. but when i do barbell hip thrusts i feel it better because the form is better

      Yeah, everyone will feel things differently but I would try to mess around with your set up/form a bit another time! The machine is pretty accommodating to all heights but I did need a few tries to get the foot position just right. I wouldn’t replace barbell thrusts with this but it’s another great variation to use in addition to barbell to build strength!💪

      I'm 5'2 and don't have too much trouble using the glute drive! It does take a little getting used to and using proper footing so play around with your form until you find what works for you

    Hey hunter new subbie here. Not sure if you’ve mentioned this before, but how many times do you train lower body every week? I want to start training lower body Monday/weds/Friday but I also don’t want to end up over training 🤦🏾‍♀️

    When I do cable kickbacks , I feel it more in my hamstring ! What can I do to feel it more in my glutes ??

      Whether you prefer to keep the working leg completely straight or slightly bent, find that position and lock it there! The minute you start bending back and forth with your knee as you kick you are essentially doing a hamstring curl which is why you’re feeling your hams. So the more you can minimize movement at the knee during the kick, the better!

    How do you overcome grip fatigue? Towards the end of my set my hands begin to sweat and my grip gets weaker 🤔

      Slowly building it overtime. If it is hindering your sets and you’re not really too concerned with having crazy raw grip strength for like-powerlifting purposes, then you could invest in lifting straps💪

    I never really feel cable kickbacks so I’m curious do u have to bend your knee on the leg that’s not working if that makes sense 🥰

      A slight bend will help feel more stable and comfortable imo on the non-working leg. You can also try doing them with a bench instead and just have that non working leg on the bench and you’re more bent over. That helps eliminate feeling that non working side completely.

    Ngl this is all new for me! but using the machines and setting them up makes me nervous. Dont want to look like an idiot. Do u have videos of u setting up the smith machine or anything like that?

      Depends on the lift! Big lifts 3-5 min, accessories/iso work 1-2 on average. I mostly listen to my body and go when I feel recovered enough!💪

      RDLs- 95, 115, 135, 185 lbs
      Glute drive - 2-4-6-8 plates (45lbs per plate)
      Straddle - 80lbs
      Abductions - 25 lbs
      Cable work- 40lbs

      No clue but if weight loss is your goal then focus on your caloric intake rather than calories burned during a workout. This is for 2 main reasons- 1. It’s hard to know exactly how much is truly being burned during exercise per person (every person will vary based on multiple factors) and devices that track this (like fitbits or watches) are not accurate & 2. People burn far less during exercise than they think which makes controlling your caloric intake instead of depending on calories burned during exercise far easier in maintaining a deficit. The best route is to focus your training on progressive overloading and let your caloric intake take care of the rest. You can then incorporate cardio as another tool to increase calorie expenditure if needed😁
