  • We use these trucks in a hot shot trucking company. They get used exclusively for pulling gooseneck trailers 36-40ft. Avg gross weight hauled by these pickups is 25k lbs.

I was thinking the same thing when you said the 4th Gen would go down in history as the 12V did. Love the videos Paul, I’m an avid watcher and love all the information on the trucks. Thank you!!

I've had very similar sounding issues on my 2020 as what you describe. Pretty much the exact same issues then I swapped in a CP3 conversion and 40k miles later I have zero issues. I have no clue how it could fix the frequent regen issue, none of it makes any sense to me but all my problems went away. I just hope they stay away.

Yet again either Paul you don't know or won't tell if it's the hydraulic lifters failing that is destroying the fifth gen please specify at this point I'm thinking Amsoil engine flush at every oil change with Amsoil Signature Series Max Duty 5w40 Diesel oil. And the addition of the Amsoil 2 micron oil bypass filtration system. To remove all soot above 2 micron size to keep from plugging up the lifters. Sir maybe the Schaeffers just not getting it done with those lifters.

My only complaint coming from a 2005 HO dually to my 2018 HO dually, is the fuel mileage. I understand the 18 has more power, geared lower, but can only manage 15ish empty, and towing 20k lucky to get 6 or 7. Other than that, love the truck. 44k miles, hope it lasts many more years.

I truly regret selling my 16' Longhorn, got about 200,000kms out of my 19' luckily with no issues aside from a leaky manifold, currently have 115,000kms on my 22' and getting frequent regen codes.. decided to buy a brand new Limited Mega Cab last week. Same 6.7HO as all the others...... lasted less than 24hrs off the dealer lot and 699kms and the transmission completely left the chat. I am truly disheartened by these new trucks and really hope Ram's next truck is worth buying.
