    I recently got my x90 1996 manual 2wd… (dream car) but damn it’s having issues of shifting… trying to find ways to fix it and was looking through TH-cam and found you! Subscribed :) great vid nice to see someone else in the Midwest!

    Cool project! I am looking forward to seeing what comes out of it and hope it starts after so many months!In salty areas the X-90 tends to rust in the front and rear under the bumpers - these parts were replaced in ours. Some additional welding on the floor panels under the driver´s seat and that was all.
    Last week the passenger side mirror broke off because of a rusted screw. Luckily the mazda Miata mirrors are the same and fit perfectly. If the trunk lit doesn´t stay open, just switch the springs from one side to the other. Good luck with your X-90 and greetings from Germany.

      Good advice! The rusted floorboards are probably my first priority.

    My dad owns an x 90 with everything stock in really good shape and with only minor issues that can be fixed really easy.

      That's awesome. It really is a cool car. If it's in good enough shape maybe Doug will review it! Haha.

      I'm looking to buy one, what are the main problems they tend to have?

    • @LukesWorkshop1
      @LukesWorkshop1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaPipFlippa That's a good question. I would actually check out a Suzuki forum for detailed info. But from my experience (being in the midwest): rust is the main issue. My engine was in good condition aside from the seals. My t-tops didn't leak, but I've heard people have issues with them sometimes. Worth a check. My 4x4 worked perfectly. In my opinion it really just depends on how bad you want one. They're only going to get rarer, so aside from avoiding an absolute piece, I'd say pick it up if you want one. They're not hard to work on.

      @@DaPipFlippa They don't really tend to have many problems. If some reason it has problems, it is most likely going to be minor problems.

      @@LukesWorkshop1 no worries if I was smart enough I would send you the photos I have of both . I just had the mags on the silver [manual] one painted Coke Can Red on Monday 1st Feb 2021. The Red one has silver mags and I had to fly to Melbourne to pick it up and drove it home 450 miles . It was owned by a guy with one leg hence the auto was never in 4 wheel drive mode and I have all receipts for service . He was a real fudy dudy that put it in for any minor fault. I bought the silver one off a mate and had it completely resprayed it had a new cluch ;starter motor and brakes fitted. In Australia salt is never used on our roads so rust is seldom a problem . There are very few over here I have been told less than 450 sold Australia wide. Have fun with the restoration . Stay safe Cheers from Down Under

      @@kevinklei3005 Those sound like wonderful specimens. Where I live the salt destroys cars without fail. It's almost not worth buying any used cars from the region. But even with the rust, it's a spunky little car and I love it! Cheers!

    I have an identical x90 with all the same problems lol
    Rust, oil leaks, and T-top leaks too
    I found out that you can buy Sidekicks floor pans for pretty cheap and the front portion fits perfect, you should look into that

    That is a cool car. I happen to like quirky cars as well as classic cars. Keep in mind most car seats were not made of leather that was usually for luxury cars. Most car seats that were not cloth were made of vinyl.
