    Hellcat in the miata... Now I've seen it all!

      Will it fit? Yes. Is it a bit much? Yes.

    Okay, if you're going to get crazy...then do it! Otherwise, just get a 2.0l suzuki motor.and add a turbo kit to it...they are not that hard to find...should give you quite a punch compared to the 1.6l.

      Hah! I don't know if I'm ready to get that crazy. 2.0 turbo is a good idea and probably what I'll do. 👍

    GM LF4 3.6TT. Hellcats in something this small and light, similar to a Miata, is too much power unless you're just going to use it for the 1320.

    Hellcat for this would be epic!

      @LukesWorkshop1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It totally would. I'd have to luck into a donor though, considering the price.

      @@LukesWorkshop1 they're out there. I found a donor for $300. It was in better shape than the one I had so now it's the one being rebuilt.
      Hopefully you'll find one. Definitely enjoy the x90 vids and look forward to more!

      Hellcat for $300?!?!? Or you mean x90?

      @@LukesWorkshop1 donor x90 lol. Mine will just be a restoration for now at least.

    If cost is an issue, buy a whole car and take out ANYTHING you could possibly need and sell the rest for scrap. The 3.8 supercharged Buick was an awesome, lightweight motor that is a ton more reliable. That X90 would suck with a large motor in it. Unless of course you’re going in a straight line. That Buick engine is one of the best engine that GM has ever produced. Some would argue it’s better than the LS and 350. There are even people putting these in Jeep wranglers who don’t want a big boat anchor in the front of their rig

      Yeah I agree. It's big, heavy, and ridiculous. I'm leaning more in the direction of a decent 4cyl or a small v6. Dreams though.

    You can build a turbo on the suzuki engine, then you have about 150 hp and much cheaper than 17K 🤣. Love the X-90 drive it myself for 10 years, greetings from Holland more videos of your X-90 please.

      @LukesWorkshop1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Awesome! That's a good idea. I definitely need to follow through on the engine rebuild first. Stay tuned!

      @@Redsub555 that's also true. My daily driver is a manual and sometimes it is nice to take a break. But you are right.

      The 1.6 is an OK motor, I’m not sure that it could take much boost. Now the 1.3 in the swift GTI could definitely handle boost. It came with forged pistons, balanced rotating assembly, and a longer stroke.

    Have you seen a teal x90 with a 6.2 with a polished intake manifold coming out of the hood? I seen it in my town today for the first time not sure he’s from here.

      That would be an interesting choice. Making it fwd would need all new geometry up front.
