Look at that face! Stitches, cuts, I tell you, Gainey would eat the boards for Les Glorieux. One of the all time greats, on the best team ever.

One of the greatest complete players ever. At one time the Soviets called him the best player on earth. A time when guys had to play the full game,,,,,not like today's soft game where too many just know or try to cherry pick.

      - "Too many just know or try to cherry pick" what EXACTLY are you talking about?? Today's game ISN'T soft, you see guys playing through shoulder injuries or ankle injuries or groin injuries. Have you ever played through an injury? If not, then stop judging today's players, OK?

Gainey is the only forward with average offensive skills to ever be inducted into the HOF, That is testament to how superlative he was defensively.

I loved watching Bob Gainey - I'd have hated to play against him.
