Another solid video! As someone who’s 60/40 collector/competitive I would rather lose with the characters I like in my deck than win with my Golbez boosted SU deck ... but if I can win with the characters I like, that’s the best, which is why Title Format is great for us lowly casuals ;). Thanks for the video.
Great video. I'm a competitive player and judge but I'm still casual in my local and love to reference your videos to new players. I want this game to stay fun and not turn into hate filled community like others. Keep up your amazing work.
Thanks for this. It's a useful primer for someone who is now getting into this tcg. I'm a huge fan of FF and I forgot their were cards so I went and bought some boxes with buddies of mine and we're building decks straight out of the boxes and this was helpful indeed.
This is an important list of things to learn and provides a great list of building blocks of simple things you can do to improve your game, nice insightful video! :D
Great video Joe, very informative. As a casual player, ratios of card types in a deck is something I’m never quite sure about so this video really helps. Keep up the great work! :)
Our local shop just got the FFTCG and ive fell for this game. With that I have to say I love your videos! Currently building an earth deck and all these videos have helped out! Wish we had a prerelease for the new set. Keep up the great content!
A most excellent video dude you are awesome I'm not a very gd deck builder but I have built many ice/other decks as ice is my primary. I have learnt alot from you and others. One of my favourite combos is the terra and white tiger it just shuts down summons
I just got into FFTCG and so far I love it! Your channel has been really helpful speaking to a newbie like me. Can you do a video about countering a Seventh Scion deck? I'm getting butchered. I know that a general strategy is to focus on removal and control, but I wanted to know if you had any specific synergies are cards you would recommend?
Trickster can be absolutely horrendous for Scions to deal with, as they can't damage him so long as they have Alisaie out, if you want something less narrow, Shadow Lord can kill of Ydas by coming into play and in the right deck can burn off Papalymos and Uriangers like nobody's business :)
Great Video! I believe a great tool for people who want to get involved in the game is reaching out to FFTCG online communities. I just want to make it a point that we have one of the best communities for both seasoned players and newcomers alike.
In regards to not being stubborn about cards being good or bad: I was that guy who was stubborn, but this game in particular is pretty humbling in one direction or another. Bottom line is if it's showing results, it speaks for itself.
I've only played fun decks. Water Lightning Dragoons, Tri-Color Knights, Tri-Color Cadets, and Golbez Archfiends. They're not meta, I tend to lose quite a bit, but they're fun and I enjoy them. After Opus V I'm gonna make a more competitive deck, but I'll keep my pet decks on the side for casual matches.
Her O1 variant is actually very good in most Earth decks, provided you run enough Hecaton to warrant her (5-6 copies), or if you want something spicier, her O7 version works in an Earth/Ice shell alongside Yeul and other FFXIII characters if you want to try something different :)
frost lee Absolutely, FFVI has a lot within those colours, as does FFIX, Moogles is a cool archetype for it, and if you want to not tie yourself to a particular game, characters like Genesis, Cecil, Rinoa are all really popular too
ah very nice. my main 2 characters are TIDUS and ZIDANE. well....i mean...tifa...and redXIII and others are also my favorite hahaha. like...SHIVA....and yuna...but im not sure what element they are (shiva is ice obviously lol ) ff9 and ff10 are my fav final fantasys of all time but i dont want to lose becuase thats all i want lol. to sum this all up basically id like to somehow have zidane....tidus...yuna...and shiva ? (im a noob im sorry lol ty for the reply as well your awesome!)
frost lee Hehe, well thanks, you'll be pleased to know Shiva is pretty amazing, you could happily do a water/ice FFIX deck to get you going, Zidane has a colourless variant in the FFIX starter deck that's still very very powerful and water has the searchers for him while Kuja is an ice character :) Yuna is also an amazing Water card, so you'll have bits from FFX in there as well Tidus is less powerful than he used to be, but there's every chance a new one could come along at any time :D

Looking to get into this game. Is there a low cost deck option for getting into the competitive scene?

So true, I have not played Light Cloud sense op2.
Cool Video, nice work :)
Any tips on building a deck around vanille? i'm going draw some heat for this but she is my favorite character why i ask lol.

@@Joesephyr Thank you :) will see what I can do, I was thinking of try making a earth/ice deck.
im very interested in this game but i onlt want to make a WATER/ICE deck. are there any? or could i even build one?

welp! your awesome! so...as of right now...should i go get a ...FFIX starter deck? or a FFX deck? im still learning everythign ):
frost lee I would suggest getting an FFIX starter deck, as well as Opus 1 and 3 boosters if you're able to :)
Love you joe!
Ah yes, the good old days 16-18 backups...
