I don't even play Digimon TCG enough to keep up with the booster sets. I was shocked to see Set 7 or 8 on the way when I stopped paying attention after like 4 lol

@@savagegamer1681 it's been a minute since I touched Digimon but I'm pretty sure the only way to block an attack is to have a digimon with blocker on your field. That's why people try to run at least 3 or 4 of them in their decks... assuming they still do that.

I'm new to your channel & the game is already popular & sold in the US in English. I love your breakdown of the game rules, it's really cleared a lot up. My only issue is when you said that Digimon themselves don't have security affects & that's just not true!there are a number of cards that have security affects such as The black cards Gururumon & Nanimon: at the end of the battle, play this card without paying it's memory cost. This is also on the yellow Ankylomon purple card BlackGatomon & the red card Graymon to name the ones I personally own. I'm looking for how to use the rush ability properly personally. Again the rest of this was super helpful & I really appreciate it, I'm glad I found your channel.
I truly hope that they open the tutorial app and create an actual game to play digitally when unable to play physically. I'm building decks but planning on playing practice matches with myself to get a feel for synergies 😂

Hey Guys! Some questions I may have not understood properly: 1. If my Digimon lose Security Attack Damage, can that loss also be negative? So assuming a digimon gets Security Attack dmg minus 2 but only hast one Itself, does it have to gain 2 Security Attack so it can perform one Security Check? 2. If I have a digimon digivolve in the Nursery Zone, will any effects trigger in that zone if that digimon that Was evolved into had a "When Digivolved" ability? And do card effects from other cards trigger if a card digivolved in that nursery Area? Can I suspend a digimon in the nursery area for the ability for Argomons cost reduction Ability for example? Can Digimon in the mursery area be targetted? 3. Assuming I have enough Memory to play a digimon and have it evolve in the same turn, can that digimon attack?
1. Yes, you would have to overcome that negative number in order to perform a Security Check. 2. The Breeding Area is basically a neutral zone. Unless otherwise stated, abilities cannot be activated there, nothing can target it, and nothing is affected by it. 3. No, Digimon cannot attack on the same turn in which they are played. Digivolving doesn’t change that.

I do have a couple of follow-up questions, not specifically related to the video but to how Digimon can be played. 1.) Can Digimon be played in a limited format (similar to MtG which uses Sealed or Draft for casual players that do not play constructed formats)? 2.) Can Digimon be played in a multiplayer scenario (more than 2 players)? And if so, then how can you modify the Memory Gauge to reflect this? Thank you!
@@icomment2226 Though if you think about the memory gauge as a circle instead of a line that goes back and forth I don't see why it couldn't be multiplayer. Long as the Memory gauge goes past 0 it can just be the next person's turn.
question am I allowed to write down on a notepad revealed cards in my opponents hand, or i'm playing a green deck that is like aetherworks marvel with jagamon, and izzy and mimi and using those cards, and green memory boost to create an orginized stack on the bottom of my deck to cheat the big cost Digimon on when I reach that stack fairly quickly. I played a lot of games that allow you to write down revealed cards in players hands, or at the bottom of the deck.

Are the "security battles" accumulative? Say a 7000DP checks a digimon that is 3000DP, resolves, then another digimon is flipped/checked and it's DP is 4000, does the Attacking Digimon get deleted or does it "heal" between battles?
The attacking digimon survives and the DP will not change unless by an effect of another card. In simple terms If you are security checking and you get an enemy digimon with lower DP: enemy gets deleted. If enemy digi is higher than yours. Yours get deleted then enemy digi is trashed. If enemy digi and ur digi are the same both get deleted.
My brother has a lot of gripes about the game, but mostly about the newer tamer cards. Why do all the tamer cards put you back up to three memory? Wouldn't it have been better for them to just change the rules to go back up to three instead of having a card do it. He complains about if you have any of them, doesn't matter which one, that since it puts you back up to three you automatically win AND because of that you have no choice, but to run them too. They automatically take three - four slots out of your deck and If you could give me some insight on why that is.. I would really appreciate it.

Do On-play effects trigger when the card you are playing is digivolved? Can effects that activite apon digivolving activate in the Nursery area? 3. The next action you take in the Nursery area (i.e. the turn after digivolving to Rookie), if the digimon occupying it is Lvl 3 do you have to move it to the battle area or can you digivolve it to Lvl 4 and so on while still in the Nursery area?

I'm so hyped that this has gotten a Western Release. You answered a couple of my questions but there's one I'm still unsure on: At 19 mins you have the 2 Agumon's that have the Inheritable and Non-Inheritable skills. Regarding the non-inheritable "On play" effect: If I evolve into this Agumon, does this trigger its On-play Effect or does this effect only activate when you "Play it raw"? Great video, thank you! Edit: I lied, I have a second question: When performing a security check it says no effects activate. Does that go for the attacker to? For example: I have a Greymon with Agumon Inheritable so he gains 1000 DP to 5000 DP. I perform a Security Check and the Security Digimon is 4000 DP. Does my Greymon delete it as he has 5000 Vs 4000. Or are they mutually deleted as he doesn't get the +1000 DP from Inherit skill so its 4000 vs 4000.
for Agumon, the When Played effect only trigger when you hard-cast it (the official release seems to use ''Upon Entry'' as a trigger word so that should make things clearer), For the second question, your Greymon will still have +1000 DP since the effect is active during your entire turn, so he will delete the Security Digimon. Thing to note tho, if you use an effect that boost DIgimon DP on the field, unless it's specify Security Digimon, it will not boost a Digimon Reveal by a Security check (since Security Digimon and Normal Digimon are consider different entities)
So I’m trying to build a yellow purple deck. Let’s say I have only yellow cards on the field would I be able to play a purple digimon right away or would I have to wait for a purple tamer or digitama

the only thing i don't understand fully is deck building, is it like magic where i can throw whatever colors i want into a deck or can i only play mono colors, like i want to build red black but is that illegal?
You can use as many colors in a deck as you wish. But it might cause problems with evolution mechanics as the Digimon need to be of same color in order to evolve.
For Omnimon, do you digivolve it off a Red OR a Blue, or are you actually stacking 2 Megas? I know in the old TCG it was an evolution off either MetalGarurumon OR WarGreymon, hence then questions.
Question on attacking. Can more than one digimon attack per turn? for example I have 1 digimon attack , the full attack resolves, and then I have another one attack. Or must they all attack at once? Also, if you have a digimon attack, and it then unsuspends itself, can it attack again in the same main phase?
You can attack with all your Digimon that can attack, one after the other, always resolving all effects and security checks of each attack. A Digimon can attack as long as it's unsuspended and wasn't played that turn.
inheritable skill question: if you have the same inheritable in different digi-volution stacks, for example "all other digimon with the same name as this one gain 2000 DP" do the effects stack?
For “on-play” effects... do their effects only activate for the turn that they are summoned? Or can their effects be activated once per turn, every single turn?
I remember you talking about option cards that let you gain memory but at the end of your turn lose memory, and how those cards Interact with passing turn on zero. Could you please explain this again. This I believe will be the biggest confusion point later on in the games life.
Yoy draw one card per turn at your draw phase (except the player who starts first on his/her very first turn), on your main phase, you can draw more cards via digivolving or if a card you play has a "draw effect" when played. You can have all the cards you want in hand, there is no maximum hand size. Hope this helps.
Recycle bin = Trash Why Bandai uses two different terms is beyond me (Agumon Expert also says “Recycle Bin”). It’s acknowledged in the rulebook as the same thing and the Japanese versions of both cards say “Trash”.
You can mix colors with no issue evolutions are restricted to a color. Cant digivolve a red on top of a blue, as well as not being able to play option cards without having card of the matching color.
You get memory by cards your opponent plays or if they pass you automatically gain 3 memory at your turn start. Also yes some cards can gain you memory.
I’m having a problem with the naming conventions. For Meteor Shower [BT5-098], do I use Starmons [BT5-035] to play from hand? Because Meteor Shower strictly says to have “Starmon” in its name. Additionally, is ShootingStarmon applicable in the use of Meteor Shower?

Common just the art, rare had like a gold trim around the art of the cards as well as gold lettering in the corners, super rare full holo most like some parallel and alt arts are the same holo but just different art for the same card! Oooh secrets are essentially rares that also have full foil (gold trim the works)
So I'm still confused ...can you not block your opponents from attacking your security cards ? Like how does that work why battle digimon if all I have to do is hit the secuity
You can block direct attack with a digimon with Blocker effect. As to why battle digimon... well, if you don't delete them they'll destroy your security cards.
you always have the option to attack security, as the only to block a security check is either a card effect your opponent has, or if your opponent has digimon on the field with 'Blocker' If you would like to attack your opponent's digimon instead of their security stack, the opponent's digimon must be suspended (tapped).

Security cards are picked from the top five of your deck after shuffling it. It is meant to be entirely random

As far as I know, there is no way Digimon TCG can be played in a multiplayer scenario.

Only digimon with blocker can block an attack so yes

Regarding the non-inheritable "On play" effect: If I evolve into this Agumon, does this trigger its On-play Effect or does this effect only activate when you "Play it raw"?

Edit: I lied, I have a second question: When performing a security check it says no effects activate. Does that go for the attacker to? For example: I have a Greymon with Agumon Inheritable so he gains 1000 DP to 5000 DP. I perform a Security Check and the Security Digimon is 4000 DP. Does my Greymon delete it as he has 5000 Vs 4000. Or are they mutually deleted as he doesn't get the +1000 DP from Inherit skill so its 4000 vs 4000.
for Agumon, the When Played effect only trigger when you hard-cast it (the official release seems to use ''Upon Entry'' as a trigger word so that should make things clearer), For the second question, your Greymon will still have +1000 DP since the effect is active during your entire turn, so he will delete the Security Digimon. Thing to note tho, if you use an effect that boost DIgimon DP on the field, unless it's specify Security Digimon, it will not boost a Digimon Reveal by a Security check (since Security Digimon and Normal Digimon are consider different entities)

can security+1 attacks stack?

You'll likely have to wait until the full release come January. The November release was just for extremely early adopters that pre-ordered.

You can use as many colors in a deck as you wish. But it might cause problems with evolution mechanics as the Digimon need to be of same color in order to evolve.

Close. Only if it means all the evolution cost requirements. Some Digimon like Omni for example can actually revolve on multiple colors of Digimon 👍
For Omnimon, do you digivolve it off a Red OR a Blue, or are you actually stacking 2 Megas? I know in the old TCG it was an evolution off either MetalGarurumon OR WarGreymon, hence then questions.
You can digivolve into it off a red OR Blue digimon

Can more than one digimon attack per turn? for example I have 1 digimon attack , the full attack resolves, and then I have another one attack. Or must they all attack at once?
Also, if you have a digimon attack, and it then unsuspends itself, can it attack again in the same main phase?
You can attack with all your Digimon that can attack, one after the other, always resolving all effects and security checks of each attack.
A Digimon can attack as long as it's unsuspended and wasn't played that turn.

For “on-play” effects... do their effects only activate for the turn that they are summoned? Or can their effects be activated once per turn, every single turn?
I mean, they activate when you play them. If you somehow put it back in your hand and put it back down it activates again.
I remember you talking about option cards that let you gain memory but at the end of your turn lose memory, and how those cards Interact with passing turn on zero. Could you please explain this again. This I believe will be the biggest confusion point later on in the games life.

Question, after your 5 cards are In hand after your first turn, when can you draw again? And how many cards can you have in hand?
Yoy draw one card per turn at your draw phase (except the player who starts first on his/her very first turn), on your main phase, you can draw more cards via digivolving or if a card you play has a "draw effect" when played. You can have all the cards you want in hand, there is no maximum hand size. Hope this helps.

Recycle bin = Trash
Why Bandai uses two different terms is beyond me (Agumon Expert also says “Recycle Bin”). It’s acknowledged in the rulebook as the same thing and the Japanese versions of both cards say “Trash”.

You can mix colors with no issue evolutions are restricted to a color. Cant digivolve a red on top of a blue, as well as not being able to play option cards without having card of the matching color.
Actually you may also keep your digimon in the nursery area until you want to move it to the battle area(a kind of red strategy?)

You get memory by cards your opponent plays or if they pass you automatically gain 3 memory at your turn start. Also yes some cards can gain you memory.

I’m having a problem with the naming conventions. For Meteor Shower [BT5-098], do I use Starmons [BT5-035] to play from hand? Because Meteor Shower strictly says to have “Starmon” in its name. Additionally, is ShootingStarmon applicable in the use of Meteor Shower?

Common just the art, rare had like a gold trim around the art of the cards as well as gold lettering in the corners, super rare full holo most like some parallel and alt arts are the same holo but just different art for the same card! Oooh secrets are essentially rares that also have full foil (gold trim the works)

So I'm still confused ...can you not block your opponents from attacking your security cards ? Like how does that work why battle digimon if all I have to do is hit the secuity
You can block direct attack with a digimon with Blocker effect.
As to why battle digimon... well, if you don't delete them they'll destroy your security cards.
can you attack security while your opponent has digimon on their field?
you always have the option to attack security, as the only to block a security check is either a card effect your opponent has, or if your opponent has digimon on the field with 'Blocker'
If you would like to attack your opponent's digimon instead of their security stack, the opponent's digimon must be suspended (tapped).
