I had a Cayman S with 14 way seats, Sports exhaust and the Sport steering wheel. I now have a CPO 2014 991 S without these three options and, boy, do I miss them! If you want to truly enjoy your dream car, you MUST buy it with the options that you want. Settling for less wipes out a lot of the fun.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I like that you go through the options, get to the point, and list why you like or dislike and how much they cost. Plus the quality of your exhaust clips are great and I enjoy that you give it one good rev unlike some idiots who basically just bounce it off the redline for 10 seconds and doesn't give you any idea how the car truly sounds under normal driving. Enjoy your car she's beautiful.
You should see the car when I'm recording the audio. The mic cable is ran all around the car and taped up with blue painters tape. I get some funny looks from people! haha

+964tractorboy There wasn't much I really wanted that I didn't get. I would have liked to have the sports steering wheel, but that's about it. What did you disagree with? I've had a few people message me about my stereo comments already! Haha
I was being hypothetical, but if pressed... personally I like the multifunctional steering wheel but the Burmester audio is way out of my comfort zone. However, if I found a car with the closest fit in options but with the Burmester then I could make an exception; as long as the price was right! I like a quiet life so the Sport Exhaust doesn't bother me though I appreciate I'm in the minority and on resale it's probably an advantage. Again, each to his/her own. If the perfect spec' isn't available then one has to improvise!

It would also be great if you made a video maybe six-twelve months down the road regarding updates on all of the options-- whether you changed your mind on a certain feature, if you appreciate a feature even more than you did before, etc.

I live vicariously through them while I grind my way towards one.
Hey Tony. I kind of touched on that stuff in my cost-of-ownership video. DIY was a TON cheaper vs. dealer. Independent shops seem to be pretty reasonable, tho.
Like your vid. I was never too sure about the Burmeister stereo system and if it was worth the extra $$ in a Porsche. Now I know. I am assuming the less than stellar sound quality is due to the 911s somewhat compact interior? I must say, the sound quality on my Cayman S with Bose system isn't all that great and I actually believe the Shaker system in my Mustang sounds better. Lol.
Just checked out this other vid of yours. That's a good place for the trunk button and the power seat buttons to be. You typically get electrical problems when they put seat controls in the door. What do the buttons over by the door handle do?
I'm glad I got the Bose instead and used the money elsewhere on the car. But the Bose should be standard anyway on a car this expensive. mine is a 991.2 C2S.
Which state are you from? I hear the southern accent. Some things I would do without or add. Add Sports steering wheel, Sports plus seats (18 way + ventilation). Do without the white instrument dials as they are hard to see depending on lighting.
Cool. We are quite close as I'm located in NoVA. I see them going for around $600 pre-owned on rennlist or 6speedonline. I believe it would be a direct swap right? no need for new clockspring etc?
Va has some beautiful roads...it's a dame sham the police are such hard asses about cars! I never thought to look on the classifieds. I'm pretty sure it is a direct swap.

You're right about the brakes, horsepower, and different suspension, but the dual exhaust pipes are standard on the base (and S) with quad exhaust tips coming with Sport Exhaust on both cars. What country are you in? As far as I know, the S comes standard with the RPM gauge in grey & the rest black. White (or any color) are available as options.

Correction: you say you don't use PASM but you drive around in sport plus. PASM is automatically switched on when in sport plus mode.

Nice car. You forgot to mention another expensive option you've got in your car. The sunroof which is a must have in my opinion.

Love the red seat belts(I have them in my 911) and the amber turn signals. The red rear blinkers on the 991 were a disappointment for me.
I almost didn't buy the car because of the seat belts, but I'm glad I did!

Hardly any of those come standard on the S. Sport exhaust, sport chrono, premium package, 14-way seats, white gauges, etc. are all options on the S.
