Women's complaints about men are like: men s3xually harass us and r4pe us and threaten us and harm us in every way imaginable and even want to take away our bodily autonomy
And then men complaining about women is like: women refuse to date me and let me have s3x with them whenever I want. They complain when I cheat and act like I'm NOT entitled to grope and r4pe MY wife!
I'd rather listen to women because they actually have things worth complaining about.

I think this could be explained better/expanded upon by saying that people who are accustomed to privilege and expecting people to be below you in some way could lead to equality feeling like oppression to them. Mainly because things won’t come as easily as they use to. People who are use to having control have difficulty giving that up.
Why I say this is because I’d say I’m pretty privileged. I’m not a man and I don’t try to take advantage of outdated stereotypes, but I have all my needs met and even some of my wants met. I have a room over my head, clothes on my back, and food in my stomach. I also have my own room/privacy, a good education, electronics, medical care, and parents who support me. If everyone were to suddenly have the same things, I’d be glad! Though if I were to put myself in the shoes of someone who was a man and use to getting women with the help of oppression, I’d probably not like it if they were suddenly my equals and I had to actually try to be worth someone’s time and emotions. Of course, I’m not shallow like that, that’s just to say if I were a man and had that mindset.

It surprises me how people like Ben shapiro don't get that the movie was about how both kinds of supremacy is wrong, not just feminism that hates on men. We see that the Kens feel unwanted when it's a matriarchy, we also see that the barbies feel sexualised and upset when it's a patriarchy. So they make a balance for both barbies and ken and it did shock me that it flew over people's head when the barbie movie was very direct about it

There is nothing for Shapiro to get. Barbie was marked for moral outrage before it was released therefore he has to appease his audience by being outraged by it. He also needed to do a stunt to make headlines. Ben doesn’t need to think deeply about anything, if you listen to any of his arguments, they aren’t deep. They sound good in the moment like at debate club but if you can take a moment to fact check him, he’s usually wrong and it takes like 10 seconds with Google. Dude is a caricature at this point

Ben hates strong women, women who express themselves how they see fit and don't exist only to please men.
Remember when he complained about wap and said his wife, a doctor, said a woman getting wet from arousal is a medical condition? He needed his wife to assure him that it's normal for women to be dry as the desert when having sex.
What would little Bennie do if the women in his life wouldn't coddle him anymore?

I have a 6-year-old daughter. I saw the movie with my mom and best friend and at different points I just got emotional over life as a woman and what my daughter has coming in her future. I felt this movie was way more powerful and deep than I anticipated. It was not a children’s movie (hence the PG-13 rating). My daughter has plenty of non-toxic males in her life (her father, uncle, grandfathers) and I know this will already set her ahead. I also had good male examples as to how women should be treated, but I still got catcalled plenty and was afraid to walk alone at night. Just because not all men are pieces of shit does not negate the very real danger of the men who are.

As a young woman who always thought she was not as conventionally attractive as those around me, I lost count of how many men catcalled me at the age of 14 after about a month.
From young guys in the 20's to men older than my father, it happened so much and so continuously that I basically became numb to being asked things like "c'mon, why not let me get you a drink?"
I even had a basically automatic response down before I turned 15.
It didn't matter where I was or what I wore, there was almost always someone who would say or do something.
One of the most notable experiences was a man in his late 20's getting upset and physically aggressive when I declined his offer of a drink at the bar. I was 16 at the time and wearing full formal army Cadet uniform, as in from neck to ankles was completely covered by full-length camoflauge.
It was ANZAC Day and the reason we were at the pub was because the local RSL (Returned Services League) set up a meal for the cadets that helped out with the memorial service.
The guy's excuse? I'd accepted one of the RSL guys offer of a can of coke, so obviously I didn't mind the attention.
The RSL member in question is all but family to me and has been for over a decade.
The night ended with the guy being thrown out of the pub for attempting to convince the bar staff to spike a girl's drink and being taken for a ride by the local cops.
While thankfully the catcalling and such has died down in the last few years (probably because I have slowly stopped trying to please the strangers around me at the detriment of my own comfort), it still happens.
Most notably, it happens more often than not when I'm in public with my bf. Because apparently the type of guys that pull that sorta shit are incapable of feeling the emotion of shame.

I live in the US and I actually greatly appreciated how the Barbie movie approached feminism, because I’ve encountered an absurd number of women who straight up support the patriarchy, or who are so radicalized that they want to implement a matriarchy to get revenge on men and have a “turn” at gender based privilege a lot like how Ken tried to implement the patriarchy (looking at you radfems and terfs). Barbie tackles both toxic ends of the spectrum which is fantastic because a shit ton of other forms of oppression could stand to be at least partially resolved if gender equality was implemented. Most if not all of homophobia and transphobia ties back to ideologies that gender inequality has created for example, and I bet that the fight against racism and xenophobia would benefit greatly from communities becoming unified due to no longer having to deal with gender based infighting

Even looking at Margot Robbies other two major films she was in, her treatment and character between suicide squad and birds of prey is astronomically different. She mentioned in interview she was uncomfortable on set in her costumes multiple times, but that was the character she had to play, and she spent the WHOLE film obsessing over joker. In birds of prey she wore an outfit that was sexy but not literal underpants, went on her own arc with women that supported her, and only spent a bit at the beginning of the movie crying over the joker. its unsurprising that birds of prey also got dragged through the mud by men.

Earring Magic Ken was actually in the Barbie movie, as well as the Sugar Daddy Ken. They were in the scene where Eeird Barbie, Stereotypical Barbie, Gloria, and Sasha are brainstorming ways to save Barbie Land from the Kens.

Barbie getting harassed in the real world may have been a bit dramatized but most of the women in my life including myself have experienced bursts of this kind of harassment before. I’ve been asked to smile by strange men so often. I don’t smile often and typically have a really deadpan expression. I don’t really smile unless I’m genuinely excited about something. I’m not upset, just neutral, but for some reason I’m expected to be excited and bubbly all the time by men around me. I work in a male dominated field and I get this all the time at work. Ben Shapiro saying that shit really set me off.

_"Why is this woman undergoing hyperhydrosis in, the region of her P word? For what purpose? My wife, a doctor by the way, confirms no females P word ever becomes wet except during certain necessary bodily functions..."_
Effectively confirming he's never made his poor suffering wife get aroused. No shock really.

Im really happy you explained barbies origins accurately, I'm so sick of clickbait articles or videos calling bild lilli a "sex doll" or a "sex worker" when she was never either of those things. If anyone is interested in more info about her, I'd recommend the video "Bild Lilli: The Doll That Started It All" by Darling Dolls :)
