What a performance by Jay Jackson! Also pretty good debut from Cabrera
I have been wondering why bone head schneider hasn't been using J Jackson over Pearson. Jackson has been lights out ALL YEAR. It doesn't matter if they are high leverage situations as that is what Pearson was used for anyways. Great but frustrating game at the same time. Springer has been @$$ for over a month now.
@@MickLoud999Completely agree. Jackson had that problem early in the season of telegraphing pitches, which the Yankees capitalised on. Since he fixed that he's been lights out. Pearson has always been unreliable at best. Schneider and the front office have their dumb prejudices based on bs analytics.

Jackson is a beast he needs more playing time. New pitcher Cabrera also is a much need lefty keep the other teams guessing. Bout time Varsho starts contributing.

When the dodgers didn’t walk off in the bottom of the 10th inning I knew it was done. 9 times out of 10 they would’ve finished that with a lead off man on second

And why do you use, and waste, Evan Phillips in a tie game? He is the closer. He comes in once the Dodgers get the lead, not to protect a tie.

The Jays need to keep Jay Jackson around. He’s been a really good pitcher for them. Espinal also needs consistent playing time. The more he plays, the better he does.

Merrifield had a great game & you can call him 4 hit Whit tonight after going 4 for 5 at the plate... I bet Varsho was feeling good after hitting that 2 run double in the 11th inning... I was very impressed with Bullpen pitchers Garcia & Jackson as they both did a Fantastic Job for the Jays... Unfortunately Springer's slump continues & he is just 1 for his last 26...On a different note it was very unfortunate the umpire crew didn't find the substance on the Dodgers Starting pitchers pants sooner... After the substance was removed the Jays batters immediately jumped on him, and chased him from the game...Huge win for the Blue Jays as the race for a Wildcard spot continues...

I'm sure if it was a Blue Jays pitcher that had some kind of substance on him the umpires would have ejected him. Since it was a Dodgers pitcher they just let him change his uniform without doing anything to him.
Whit should be batting leadoff. Him and Springer need to swap spots.
I noticed that too..as soon as he had to change his pants, the jays hitter was on his pitches

This was such a win for many people on this crew!
Berrios: Very solid, continues to grind against aggressive lineups. 5 IP today, but kept the dangerous Dodgers lineup at 2 runs.
Cabrera: Awesome start! Had a rough record but was mutually unhappy in St. Louis. His stuff was a lot of fun to watch, I hope the scenery change does him well. Lefty reliever throwing 96 with a good breaking ball is nice to have.
Vladdy: Overall still rushing to swing at the first pitch, but did get that nice RBI. Been hitting a lot better than May.
Chapman: Making the plays but lately been patient, taking walks and power hitting again.
Merrifield: Just keeps hitting. Needs to chill a bit on the basepaths lately, but the production is still fantastic.
Varsho: I said it before, this guy gets too much hate. He has definitely underperformed with the bat, but I know he will heat up. Got a pair of hits tonight in important spots, one of which to score the runs needed for the win. Still a defensive beast too.
Jackson: LEGACY. GAME. This is one of the high leverage guys we need for holds. 2 scoreless innings against the hottest parts of the Dodgers lineup.
Romano: In for the save, psychotic closer face on, no sweat. Let this man save, and nothing else. He dominates here.
Schneider: I have to say it. Tonight mostly correct moves were made. Kirk is the only predictable GIDP he keeps rolling with, but otherwise, letting Jackson run the holds and not pinching out Varsho to let Romano actually close and not save. I just can't complain tonight.
There's only a few low points, hoping they figure it out.
Bo: 0-19 now, ice cold. They're not the pop fly outs from being good at defending the plate, he's been chasing more and just kind of knocking bad pitches into the dirt. Bo's too good for this to continue much longer.
Kirk: An absolute GIDP machine, it's like a preset event at this point. Even if he gets a hit, it's a juggling game of seeing if he can run or have to pinch run for. Just kind of a liability. I just don't see him having his 2022 Silver Slugger year, and if he doesn't, he's going to be a big liability. Love the guy, but would love an upgrade here.
Springer: Also ice cold. I think the back-to-back jeering is getting to the poor guy. Hated in Seattle, hated in LA. I have faith he'll get back into it too.
Need to keep carrying this momentum forward. All the wildcard teams are fired up and slowing down anywhere could be devastating. Have to deal damage while the competitors are going through hard stretches.
Great points. But I still think the manager is very weak. The hitting coach is out to lunch.

@Hiro... Nice breakdown man. My thoughts on Schneider is that he is one of the worst managers in MLB and I truly believe that he is holding back the Jays from being the best they can be. If nothing else, for his consistent, ill-timed, incompetence in pulling pitchers at the wrong times. Garcia was pitching well, getting outs, then Schneider pulls him, (Garcia easily could have finished the inning), then Richards gives up a home run. It nearly cost cost the Jays the game. Schneider has been doing this all season long. On the flip side, Schneider is famous for leaving struggling pitchers in far too long, when he should have been pulling them. Kind of like what the Dodgers did with Bickford in the 11th, haha.
i would like to add that overall as an utility player Espinal is doing the job but damn everytime he throws to the first base its always close. he needs to get his pitch faster
@@jeffreyadams648 I am in 100% agreement, I need to see a lot more consistency of these choices to retain my faith in Schneider.
As for Martinez, I'm kinda lost. This isn't his first year with the Jays, and he's been with them through the historic batting years of Semien, Bo, Vladdy, etc. I don't think he just magically forgot how to bat. Something else like the new strategist or just some kind of untapped realization is to blame, in my opinion.

I find it interesting that more isn’t being said about the Dodgers pitcher, Grove cheating. After he was told by the Umpire,to “change his pants” his pitching declined. He should be suspended for ten games. The same as NYY Domingo German was for cheating. Are the U.S. teams so intimidated by the Canadian Blue Jays? The only way they are able to win is by cheating!?
