    Just picked one of these cameras up. Thank you for the installation details. It looks like it will be just what we need.

    Awesome review man…appreciate it. Definitely did not sound like a commercial, you gave your honest opinions, and was pretty detailed in the review. I am definitely considering this camera, even though I agree the audio is lacking to say the least.

      Thanks! It's a great camera that I now have in my truck since my truck gets used almost daily, whereas my car spends a lot of time inside the garage. One thing I didn't have at the time of this review is the rear camera and that's the only thing I had an issue with. It's a bit finicky in the order of how you plug things together and because I kept moving the cameras between vehicles, I kept having issues with the rear camera connecting properly, causing the rear view to just show static. Eventually I just gave up on the rear camera, but the main front cam is still doing awesome!

    I’ve been looking for best dash cam also…. Great vid!!

      I wouldn't say this one is the best. The audio really is horrible. But one thing I like that I learned from Orlando, launching on the dragstrip apparently makes the dash cam think something happened and it automatically saves a protected 30 second clip starting before the launch. Makes it super easy finding those clips to use in my vids lol.

    Bought one this week doesn’t connect with iphone 14 pro and nextbase said they are working on improving the app. Really disappointed

      That sucks. I have an iPhone 14 now but haven’t tried to install the app on it. I honestly never use the apps for any of my dash cams though either. Thanks for the info

    After extensive trial and error, I've found the NextBase memory card is REQUIRED to run their dual camera setup. Using a high performance Sandisk or other brands may work at first, but then will have issues. My NextBase 128 memory card was worth the extra $, especially considering I got it on sale for $49. It works like butter.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's almost required for just the single cam setup too. I got a NextBase 64gb card that came with mine so that's what I've been using. I did try to use a Samsung branded card once with a bit more storage and it wouldn't work in it.

    I've had one of these plus rear cam installed for approx 6 weeks now. My car gets very hot when the weather allows. Already, the adhesive mount has come away. Utterly useless. At least with a suction mount it can be reattached.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That can be an issue for sure. Since it came with 2 mounts I put the second one in my Ram, where this cam now lives full time. The mount in my Ram kept falling off in the hot Dallas summer too, but it never fell off in my Challenger. I think if it's installed when its not hot and has a good amount of time to set before the summer heat kicks in it'll be ok, but if it's already hot then it doesn't want to stick, at least that's the only difference between the 2 I installed. I ended up buying some 3M replacement adhesive and it had the same issue. Suction cup mount would have been better for sure though. I have another dash cam that ended up in my Challenger so that I could have one in each vehicle and the other one I got has a suction cup mount and it's so much easier to deal with, although that's fallen off on me once too.

      @Scavenger1320 I can't recall the temperature at time of fitting. I have however fixed the issue. I've used adhesive backed velcro. It has stuck to the windscreen very well. I've superglued the other part of the velcro to the mount. Fingers crossed.

    I’m going to get my 522GW tomorrow thanks for the video.
    I had my 322gw stolen in a car park 🤦🏾‍♂️ I regret not removing the camera from the mount.
    By the way what car do you have is it the Dodge Challenger?

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it's a 2020 Dodge Challenger 1320. Sucks about your dash cam being stolen. Hate that its something we have to worry about. Thanks for watching!

      Should we be removing the camera each time we park the car at night? What if it is hardwired, won’t that be an issue?

    I see it also shows the screen mount which blocks out some of the picture. Is this a design problem or is it just the way it was fitted here?

    I have recently purchased one (Front & Back), and it seems to love saving a recording when the car door is closed, but for some reason, got my rear light cluster smashed, and did not record a thing. So not too sure on it at present, since it has not worked. Since i have no idea how or who smashed my rear lights - Driver side.
    Plus they state put it on the passenger side of the rear view mirror, so you can not see the screen, so pointless for the so called reversing camera set-up.

      Not sure, I haven't had any issues like that yet with mine. At least not with the front camera only. I did try adding the rear cam since this vid and kept having issues just on the rear cam that I ended up not using it all. I still use the front cam though almost daily since I moved it to my Ram truck instead.

    • @chrisnielsen3562
      @chrisnielsen3562 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which rear cam did you use as there are several for it. The one cam is wired and mounts to the rear window.

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisnielsen3562 Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I ended up buying the wired one that is basically a magnetic ball to attach to the rear window but never use it anymore. I was moving the dash cam between vehicles whenever I switched driving them, and this cam has an issue with properly connecting with the rear cam. It takes some specific order with having the power off but not connected or something like that and after a couple moves with not being able to get a video signal from the rear cam I got frustrated and gave up on it. I still use the main dash cam in my truck now but without any rear cam.

    Must be easy to install with your interior completely stripped lol

    • @Scavenger1320
      @Scavenger1320  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That it is, it's almost cheating. Not having any interior make a lot of things really easy though.
