I own a roofing company and have been using a Mavic 2 Zoom for roof inspections. Ive been happy with the results. I picked up a Mavic Air 2 today as a back up but after watching this video it’s probably going to become my primary.
I've been interested in acquiring a drone for a long time because the incredible shots you can get, and after watch this review I'm convinced Mavic Air 2 is for me.
Fortress of Solitude make sure you buy a cheap low quality drone to practice with. Everyone crashes, everyone has oh shit moments, everyone has moments of fearlessness that lead to regrets. Best to play with something you’re willing to let crash and burn while learning to fly and get comfortable with wind and controls. That way when you invest in an expensive drone, you don’t crash and lose it!
Bob Dobalina my only gripe with the MA2 is the 1/2” sensor. Doesn’t matter if it’s 48MP (which is a stitch of four 12MP photos btw) it’s the lack of sensitivity so the photos are inherently less quality. MPs don’t mean squat if the sensor isn’t up to par
Keith Douglas Care to enlighten? As far as I know picture quality is 100% dependant on the sensor size. It’s why you can have a 10mp dslr photo which will look leaps and bounds better than a 12mp iPhone photo. It’s because of the sensor size.
If anyone is interested in Drones, the best that I have found is Mavic Air 2. Definitely your video is the most incredible guide that I have ever seen.
The technology increasingly exceeding its limits these drones have helped a lot to record incredible and majestic environments I hope every day they improve more

Very good video, and really good with the range test. I had the Air 2 for a couple of days and agree this is a good machine. I liked your range test, as I'm not doing that one on my channel despite multiple requests as there is too many idiots around. I'll send them your way instead. Keep up the good work

Problem comes when winds hit from below, or behind the drone. He's using a blower on the side of the drone. Winds can pull upward, and that can flip the drone. Seen many Mini's get tossed here on the FL coast. Most flying them are clueless what to do.
I stopped using and bringing my Phantom 4 anywhere. It was just way too big and the setup time to flight took a while. It was almost a chore to get ready to fly. I ordered this Mavic Air 2 in a heart beat! The setup time to fly looks amazing!
I'm going to get a mavic air 2 also. I've had cheaper drones before and the problem with them is they always stop working and crash or they lose the signal and fly away. I started researching drones and the mavic air 2 caught my eye pretty quickly
Almost 6 months ago I bought a used mavic 2 zoom, I love it, I shot very cool photos and videos, really really nice drone...but it's too much on the pro-side (as by the name lol). I'm an enthusiast, I edit photos, I like doing that, I like to pilot around and have fun but when it comes to heavy editing I totally loose interest! This air2 with hdr and his more "user-friendly" attitude is veeery tempting: very capable, cost less then what I spent for the zoom, same if not better performance, new very cool controller and new dji fly app (which I prefer). This is basically a mavic 2 pro but for 2020 and for also non professionals! p.s. after this, think about what will be the new mavic pro 3...hooooly

I think they start shipping on May 11th. I contacted support and they said mine should ship out between the 11th and the 14th. They also said they have warehouses in multiple countries, so they all won't be shipping from China, so there's a plus. Won't need to wait longer for international shipping.

I was interested in this quadcopter and watched several videos on the Mavic Air 2. This is by far the best review taking it through all the tests and focused on the quadcopter rather than focusing on an over produced video of the reviewer.
Excellent, detailed review. For the price, the quality of the video is breathtaking for the Mavic Air 2. You might have just convinced me to get one for Christmas.
I was doing a distance test with the mini a few weeks ago, was approaching 10,000 feet with some crackles in the signal and then my mom called me and I completely lost signal. Thank god it returned to me!
I agree. My guess is this is a precursor for the Pro 3, which will undoubtably will be freakin' killer! Although I did order the Air 2 last week and can't wait to get me grubby hands on it!

I bought the Mavic Air 2 as my first drone. I was skeptical at buying a drone, but since using it for the last 2 weeks, I am in love with it. I like what you did with the other magic drones, thank you. I am learning more and more on this. Look forward to more videos. Thinking of taking you up on your cinematic drone video lessons.

I was very sad that my Mavic Air crashed and lost in woods and trees somewhere (RIP little buddy). Fortunately, I had INSURANCE ( don't fly without it). I got this less than a year ago and, actually being a commercial airline pilot, I LOVED it. So the insurance company sent me a check to replace it for the full COMBO pack. But do I just buy another and have all those extra batteries - OR upgrade. I'm new at this and your videos were VERY helpful. So I ordered the Mavic 2 and can't wait to get it next week. Thanks for that very informative comparisons!
I have owned a P2V+ for many years now and my buddy has been flying his mavic 2 zoom and putting me to shame. They see me spinning in circles trying to calibrate which is almost impossible now. So needless to say i was ready to upgrade. After plenty of comparison I bought the mavic air 2 yesterday with the fly more package for right under 1000 which is an incredible buy. I found this video after making the purchase and i can honestly say it made me overjoyed that i did go with the air 2. Great video happy flying!!
The obstacle avoidance specs were all completely wrong in this video. First of all the Mavic 2 pro has obstacle avoidance sensors on all sides . The Mavic air 2 has forward, backwards and downwards obstacle avoidance. The Mavic mini has downward obstacle avoidance.

this is a very nice comparison video, really well done! i was merely browsing youtube for sim racing rigs and somehow ended up here.. had no plans of buying another drone before this, with my old tired phantom just collecting dust in the garage.. but this somehow invigorated my old hobby!

Honestly, after this video, I don't think the low light capability of the 2pro is worth the price difference. I'm just waiting for the mini series to catch up. When the Mini is able to have the video specs of the air 2, I'll be totally sold. The weight of the mini is crucial, I'd like to not have to worry about FAA regulations in the way you have to with heavier drones.

CORRECTION! #1 I said the Mavic Air 2 has 42MP Photos. It actually has 48MP! #2 at 9:33 where I compare images, I said "Mavic 2" was the winner. @@Kayshots First: I do own a Mavic Mini Second: I know from experience that if the downward sensors sense something too close, the drone will go up automatically. Nice try, but next time, don't talk about someone out don't know
the ideas of the drones worked excellently giving unique aerial possibilities of filming and recreation what started as allusive models gave exciting answers and you my brother have captured the negotiability of the way of acquiring these equipment at the wedding or stores
For a while the mavic air 2 is probably going to be a pretty good drone compared to the competition at its price range because of how long the flight time is and how good the camera is.
I'm nice to the videos that go straight to the point. the Mavic Mini was turning into the wind so it would have a better chance of staying. It's a perfect assessment. Thanks for the video!

I bought mine just yesterday and I am incredibly impressed with it! It is just as good as you said and I am so happy :) Without this review I probably would of never bought it !
Its a great starter cinemtaic drone. Don't waste 1000bucks on the air 2 until you have mastered edditing and getting the right shots for different locations
@@cassijoanna I guess it was about a week after this post I took the mavic mini back to Best Buy and returned it then purchased the mavic Air 2. The mini gave me a chance to learn how to fly and about its limitations. I am now very pleased with the mavic Air 2. So I'm going to have to agree with you buy the mini from Best Buy flight for about 3 weeks then take it back and upgrade, yeah there's a restocking fee of $75 but call it tuition.
I wanted a drone for awhile now and was doing research on which one I should get for the first time. I was leaning towards the mini because of the price and you don't have to register it to the FAA but wasn't really sure if I should get it because of picture quality compared to the pro 2 but I didn't wanna spend $1600 for my first drone. After seeing your video you completely sold me on the Air 2 and I now know exactly what I want.. Thanks for the video you truly helped me out.

I ordered direct from DJI on April 29. Got a message from DJI support that it is expected to ship May 13.

Mini was perfect for me, until a wind gust knocked me straight into a tree. Warning to all DO NOT FLY YOUR MINI CLOSE TO TREES.
Its an amazing drone for the price. Get some nd filters for it as well. Ill spend 1000bucks on the air 2 when I master my drone skills

Paul Sillifant Don’t buy 800$ stuff as first. Start off with a Aliexpress (Eachine E58) to learn the basic controls. I did too, Now flying mavic pro

Honestly, after this video, I don't think the low light capability of the 2pro is worth the price difference. I'm just waiting for the mini series to catch up. When the Mini is able to have the video specs of the air 2, I'll be totally sold. The weight of the mini is crucial, I'd like to not have to worry about FAA regulations in the way you have to with heavier drones.
It's not that hard to register your drone You just have to pay $5 and put a sticker on it with its registration number and your address.

#1 I said the Mavic Air 2 has 42MP Photos. It actually has 48MP!
#2 at 9:33 where I compare images, I said "Mavic 2" was the winner. I meant to say "Mavic Air 2 " had the sharpest photo image as shown by the red arrow. (My bad, I haven't slept in 5 days making this video :)

@@relaxvideo3d probably, the other drones apply automatic sharpening. So the M2p could be sharper with post processing.

Second: I know from experience that if the downward sensors sense something too close, the drone will go up automatically.

For a while the mavic air 2 is probably going to be a pretty good drone compared to the competition at its price range because of how long the flight time is and how good the camera is.
I'm nice to the videos that go straight to the point. the Mavic Mini was turning into the wind so it would have a better chance of staying. It's a perfect assessment. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for taking the time to put this review together. I've had the Mavic mini now for about 3 weeks so I'm new to the Drone game.
Its a great starter cinemtaic drone. Don't waste 1000bucks on the air 2 until you have mastered edditing and getting the right shots for different locations
@@cassijoanna I guess it was about a week after this post I took the mavic mini back to Best Buy and returned it then purchased the mavic Air 2. The mini gave me a chance to learn how to fly and about its limitations. I am now very pleased with the mavic Air 2. So I'm going to have to agree with you buy the mini from Best Buy flight for about 3 weeks then take it back and upgrade, yeah there's a restocking fee of $75 but call it tuition.
I wanted a drone for awhile now and was doing research on which one I should get for the first time. I was leaning towards the mini because of the price and you don't have to register it to the FAA but wasn't really sure if I should get it because of picture quality compared to the pro 2 but I didn't wanna spend $1600 for my first drone. After seeing your video you completely sold me on the Air 2 and I now know exactly what I want.. Thanks for the video you truly helped me out.
