I main Qiyana, Fizz, Akali and Katarina, but wouldn’t put Qiyana anywhere close to the level of difficulty of playing Katarina and Akali. Could you someone explain their rationale as to why you think she’s difficult / just as difficult?

I am a zed and kata main but i also got mastery 7 akali but whe n it comes to qiyana when i tried her she seemed to be much more dificult than lets say akali
only mained her bcs i got battle boss qyiana and went crazy about her afterwards

Anyone remember when he played Akshan for 24 hours but removed the video.
Interestingly I'm similar to you in that Akali came pretty naturally but Qiyana took some work. And unlike Akali where a warm-up game or two gets me back in the rhythm, Qiyana I feel like I have to relearn the muscle memory for the combo mechanics every time I play her and I have to keep playing her to stay decent at it.
I think Qiyana is harder simply because she is less forgiving, both from game play and actual input mechanics. Akali you get a bit of room to think between your combos and it's a bit slower execution even on the bigger burst ones. Qiyana is very rapid inputs and if you mess one up, the whole thing falls apart and you've fully committed to the fight with no way out.

exactly the same for me. From the first ARAM I played as Akali I felt like her kit was so flexible and suited my own playstyle a lot. On Qiyana I inted in a bot game, it took time to realize how to use her kit and how to properly combo while positioning correctly. I kind of want to keep at it tbh she's unforgiving but a lot of fun.
Feel the same way except with yone, used to main yas years ago so he felt piss easy, but qiyana is a whole different beast
As someone who plays Qiyana as one of their mains, she is very hard, I love this champion so much tho. Its what got me to play more league and I played only her for like 400 games straight got mastery 7 with the 2 marks. I think Qiyana is harder than Akali on the outplay side of things, but Akali I think has harder mechanics or tricks that she can use

I main Akali and Qiyana and I think Qiyana is harder, because she has the harder combo, skillset and playstyle.

Both Akali and Qiyana are hard to master, but personally Qiyana is harder. If you screw your combo, that's it you die. Akali has a better disengage. You can always throw your shroud with Akali everywhere you want... Qiyana if you are not near of grass then bye xD. Also late game is way too hard for Qiyana, specially against Bruisers and tanks. A bit of CC against Qiyana and you feel useless

I think late game she's fine. A lot of game deciding fights are around drag / baron and hitting a game winning ult there is honestly surprisingly easy.
qiyana basiclly has the shroud with her bush element and her ult is still really good late game
Man! Ur right about learning, im a Senseï and learning is a part of struggle! As u spook always have fun in the process and find ur style of learning... Its not school like juste repeat 1000 time... Nooo observe what state u are in the drill and may be less practise but with more fun or break and detail practise will be stronger rather the whole pratise 1000 hours! Good observation here! She seems easy to play at first but oh boy were my first 10 games a doozy. Coming from Akali, I thought going all in was gonna be much easier. Her kit seemed basic enough but the skill ceiling is soooo high with her that I've got a hell of a lot to learn still after a few months.
I was a range mage player but played akali from time to time. Around 2 months ago I got interested in Qiyana and wanted to main her, I knew it was going to be hard bc I'm more of ranged and ap champs but after watching Beifeng vods, guides and everything I could I still sucked at her, had like 30% w/ her and my kda was pretty bad, until a month after plsying only Qiyana I started to feel confident w/ her, my wr got over 50% for the first time my kda was way better but I still felt like I was at the start of the Qiyana journey. But then I think about my games with akali, I played her less than 10 timed a month, didnt watch vods only 1 or 2 guides and still since the first games I was doing pretty good at her.
So in my experience with both champs, Qiyana is much harder to play on a good lvl, but I can't tell wich is harder to master to perfection.

As a Qiyana main, and an ex Akali main , i would say Qiyana is harder than Akali. In my opinion, Qiyana is the hardest champ in league. Peace.

@@NexusFall If you're talking about old akali then I have no idea, it's hardly worth talking about since she was pretty much a different champ. New akali though has always been extremely safe and her combos really aren't that hard.

I'm an range champion main and wanted to learn her but I gave up, because I learn really slow and always get flamed.
But thanks to this video, I found new confidence and will keep trying.
Personally I think Qiyana is harder than Akali, bcs of not so much escape tools like Akali.
I like learning champs randomly in aram, you get to the mid and late game feel faster, I don't main any one champ but keep a knowledge base on all champs.
Both akali and qiyana are difficult, but for me id say qiyana because, because i main her and sometimes getting the right positioning is already difficult. Shes very essential in team fights, she shines more in drake/baron pits or in jungle since her kit is decently wide and long (not that kind of wide and long u filthy animal) with her double dmg below 50%health q (rock), her root (water) and camo (grass) which is a good element to secretly reposition but its difficult to reposition if ur against skill shot champions or champions that dont do on targets, for example ornn, or galio, also samira. Shes insanely good once u master her though, and really worth it.
You are the reason i started playing kat and now it is qiyana lol (already started to play her some weeks ago though)

When i started her i was so bad especially since she is pretty much the 1st champ i mained and now i have such incredible stats with her...on my 10 last games with her i have a 90% WR with almost an 4kd

I think Akali generally is a stronger champ making her easier to play in the end as well. Lots of escape tools as well and you are still AP which doesnt force AP jgl or smth out of your team occasionally. Qiyana has combos that are weirdly harder to me as well even though they shouldnt be and I think getting ahead on Qiyana is riskier because if you lose the all in around lvl 3-4 you will pretty likely lose lane and thus have a harder time in the game
I think that qiyana is way harder than akali, after i played a few Akali Games, she was pretty easy to me but after some qiyana games, that champion still blowed my mind

Can you try azir? I really want to see a 30 days of azir video because it has a really bad early game and playing on defense makes it even worse but at the same time playing aggressive will result in a 0/10 game. You' have to adapt to a passive-aggressive style.
I think qiyana is more difficult to play than akali because with akali you have more time to think between your combos and you can get out from fights easier than you can with qiyana.

I think Qiyana is harder, I have played Akali, and it's not like she is not hard, but Qiyana is defiantly harder,
and yes you should do a zed 30 days, but you should add the clip of your last match, it will be fun to watch, like how you were in the starting and how you were in the ending

I personally think Qiyana is a LOT harder since with Akali, you can play her and understand her abilities but if you play Qiyana you have to spend hours in practice mode figuring out how she works like how you said you didn't even know holding earth and being next to structures makes you go faster or you don't have to ult on the wall but only the border.

Qiyana is undeniable harder than Akali. She's melee only and ranged lane opponents like malzahar and xerath makes you wanna kill yourself. Basically, her kit only works at lvl 3 (kinda like Renekton) while Akali can safely farm with Q and E, you can make her kit work with only Q+W or Q+E, shroud defensively to escape a gank/skillshot or offensively to close the gap, and E + R is guaranteed to get you in your target range, and there's not much they can do to avoid it.
Though Qiyana indeed has some small dashes, she can't really close the gap like Akali does, and doesn't have a on demand shroud with the size of Nunu's ult. Also, she can't zerg ult whenever/wherever she feels like, so you need to use your brain and position yourself carefully while managing (kinda) low cooldown skills.
Still, she's one of the most fun champions I've played and one of my favorites, though her personality is totally trash lmao. An assassin that has a tide turning ult is so damn satisfying to play. A 5 man ult into the wall is guaranteed to make you come in your pants.

as an Akali onetrick for few years I think qiyana is harder, bcs you have to take the right element in the right situation and that was one thing I couldn't ever learn. Akali just feels more natural to me :)

idk qiyana and akali both clicked in so well for me. I picked up qiyana really easily, but it's not to say I'm beifeng and I pull out the combos in 0.1 seconds, but I think they're equal

After a week of playing akali ang getting it lvl4 this the time where the bad games start if u can live with this champion in this stage ur provbly goibg to be lvl 7, but tgat never happened to me with qiyana aftwr 2 weeks

I really don't get the problem about we don't know how the champ works, i read the patch notes and i know what the champion does and how he should work. (Yeah I don't have the perfect item build and a few secret interactions i miss but i normal play new champions at 70-90% proficiency at first game.
depends, akali has lower skill floor (easier to learn/beginner friendy) but higher skill capacity. Simply cuz its hard to be consistent with R E combo.

I think it would be sick if for your next 30 day challenge you did something starkly contrasted to your normal play style. We’ve all always known you as an assassin player. Why not do 30 days of Cassiopeia or Azir

my dear i also play keanu and akali. Your question "who is more difficult" made me think deeply. I think Akali is literally half a percent harder because of the more active items and play options. however, kiana is the most beautiful and brightest

If you think they have anywhere near the same skill ceiling watch some Beifeng Qiyana, the 1800 Chinese onetrick. He looks like he just does more damage, and his combos are insane. (I play both of these champs by the way)

Not at all my man u need like 2 years sometimes per a hard champ
as a qiyana main i will give you some tips that i use
1. dont waste qiyana combo on kills that doesnt matter, wait for the right ult so you can easy win the game
2. before going to play qiyana go practise combos to practise tool
3. buy boots after 3rd item
4. go fight only after you got serrated dirk (gives 30 AD 10 LETHALITY)
5. if you want to be good at her just play her.
