Whilst we don't routinely do precisely that operation here in Australia, it is an excellent procedure with good outcomes. Like all surgery it is without risk. My clinical approach is to prevent an issue wherever possible to avoid surgery, but if it cannot be avoided then this is a good procedure to consider. Better than shaving the bone back, as the underlying biomechanics are not corrected
Certainly - the challenge I have is consent from patients, it is very hard to find patients that are willing to have their bunions filmed for both before and after. That being said, I do have before and after photos I can send you, not a problem, as I cannot upload them in the comments section here. send me a personal email if you like, andreww@balwynsportsphysio.com.au and I am more than happy to send you some examples of real patients
hey there, here is a good video to start - it has some bunion exercises as well as ankle strength work too - follow along at home th-cam.com/video/Bb3nv8KuzVU/w-d-xo.html
Ah no hopefully it can still be improved and not too late to avoid surgery - can you move it /correct the alignment with your hands? if yes, there is still hope
The camera closer in while you were strapping the toe would have been much more helpful. Personally I couldn't see how you wrap it & was really hoping to.
Tanks for this video God bless you Doc. Happy to watched this vedio
My pleasure
I had surgery on mine a few months ago and it has been hell. I’ll do this tape correction for my other foot 🦶
Great plan!
Very helpful!!
What's your expert opinion on LapiPlasty3D surgery

*If any of your non.surgical methods work, can you show some before n after photos? Its been over a year for several of your patients...*

thanks for this feedback, I know what you mean and will add it to our list to re shoot with better angles. Stay tuned
But the man doesnt seem to even have a bunion
See the angle of the great toe in the thumbnail? That certainly is hallux valgus
Keep touching the tape like you are and it won't stick to anything lol, geeze
Ok do that on a foot with a bunion
She has a pretty decent hallux valgus angle
