Thanks for sharing!! I remember our first real adult trip once the kids were old enough to be left alone, I took a huge make up case with waaayyyy too much make up and personal care (and clothes, and accessories) thank God I’ve grown up and learned how little I really need.

I don’t travel that frequently but a few times a year and I like to pack make up I’m low on or needs to be thrown out soon (foundation, mascara, etc) and then it gets chucked before leaving to come home. It doesn’t really make a huge difference but it feels nice to come home with less of something!

Great video. I’ve noticed 2 types when packing make up. 1. takes everything & is closer to 20-30 yrs. 2. miss hippie & wears no make-up! Thank-you for being the in between & giving really good advice!
I’ve recently been looking at Viseart (I use cruelty free, but high end) All pieces pop out & for travel most of my color fits in a tiny Z palette. All would fit in the Away carrier you have!

I invested in duplicate toiletries for travel years ago. Best investment ever! I know they tell you to trash your makeup after 3 months, but I don't think that is necessary when it's not used everyday. I refill my shampoo/conditioner/bodywash as soon as I get back home and replace anything that's getting low. Always ready to travel by just tossing in my bag and some clothes.

Yes! Great list of products! Usually when I am down to the last quarter of my makeup, I get a new one and put the older one aside in my travel cosmetics bag. Can’t wait to follow along on all of your future trips!

Love this. Traveling next week so perfect timing. As the mom, my toiletries always include all the things that might be needed for anyone else’s emergency as well as mine. Where do you put band aids, pepto tablets, safety pins, nail clippers, q-tips, make up remover, toothbrush/paste/floss, deodorant? I love your away kit but I haven’t been able to pair down that far. Maybe I need more solo travel in my life! Thanks for inspiring me to try it.

Same! I’m packing for a family of four so we definitely pack larger things of shampoo and conditioner, four toothbrushes, two razors, lots of random things that we do actually use on many of our trips.

I know this is an older post, but I separate out my regular toiletries and cosmetics. And further separate my medical and first aid into a different bag/pouch. It helps a lot when everyone takes thier own stuff and I think if you have kids that are older than 5, that's possible, but you know your family best 🤷‍♀️. Obviously kids can only be responsible for some stuff.

Love your travel tips. We recently ordered an owners locker so thanks for the advise on what to keep in it. I purchased an Away medium checked bag for my husband for our trip to Hawaii in October. He was using my old roller bag with a Minnie Mouse. sticker on the front so I thought he was due for a new bag. I also just ordered a small cosmetics bag for him to match the luggage. I really appreciate your videos and your humor. Hope to see you in Disney someday. We will be there in May....I believe at the same time as you so who knows. Take good care!

I like the idea of smaller bag, not only are countertops small but there are rarely any hooks. I used to use hanging organizers but no more. No place to put them! Last hotel had sliding bathroom door, not even regular door with the only hook on the back…secondly I put liquids in my 3:1:1 bag (shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, sunscreen, etc..) and always left my mini tubes and jars of foundation, creme and even toothpaste in my cosmetic bag and was never stopped by TSA.

Fun video! That Anastasia brow pencil is so nice but L'Oreal makes one that is very similar for about a third of the price called Brow Stylist Definer. I go through brow pencils pretty fast because I have really sparse brows too, and that L'Oreal pencil has saved me. Thought this tip might be helpful to someone. Oh Jen. Duplicate of make-up….I’m trying to declutter and get rid of duplicates. I traveled yesterday to my parents house, I then go to the US in 2 weeks and I only have 1 day turn around time.I have enough make-up to pack a make-up bag for each trip and still have options to do my make-up at home. Downside of TH-cam…it promotes consumerism and FOMO.
Also, if you get deluxe sample size of products in pots when purchasing make-up (or gift sets with minis), save the small jars and wash them out to reuse them instead of buying plastic pots. The squeezey tubs for shampoo are great for containers that are harder to reuse but small cream pots are easy to refill and many brands give you them as samples or in gift packs.

Cadence is worth the price just like that mascara. Just don't use it for eye cream cause it will use the whole bottle. Go to Sephora and ask for a sample tub of an eye cream you've been wanting to try and then when it is all gone reuse the tub!

Ooh, I love those shampoo containers - going to get some now. Nothing worse than when stuff leaks and putting everything in ziploc bags begins to get ridiculous. For future discussion: do you use a travel pillow when you go on longer flights and if so, which one? I have three pillows of different shapes and materials and I'm not in love with any of them. Always on the lookout for "the one."

Great video! Which size GoToobs were those? I'd like to pick up a "just right" set. My usual default would be large, but I don't really need that much when traveling. On another note, you should check out EltaMD UV clear tinted sunscreen. It has a similar coverage of my usual tinted moisturizer but full sunscreen protection for my fair skin. And the container is under 2 oz/travel friendly, but lasts quite a while. I love just using that when outside in hot locations, as I hate the feel of makeup on my face.

OMG! I sliced my finger open with my razor years ago when I was traveling for work at had to tour a distribution facility. Oh so much pain. I was in my early 20s and of course, did not think to bring a bandaid. The bandage I had to rig up for myself in the hotel... I shudder at the memory.

    • @erinlikesacornishpasty4703
      @erinlikesacornishpasty4703 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm a wavy and I've had great success with shampoo bars. I still like using my regular Bioterra leave-in conditioner though and I think it's abetter option than a conditioner bar. However, when I travel, I use a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner from Love Beauty and Planet, plus a sea salt spray, and it works great.

One thing about medications... if you are travelling internationally... DO NOT DECANT YOUR MEDICATIONS INTO A CONTAINER! Always carry your medications in their original packaging and if they don't have your details on them from the dispensing chemist (that's what we call Pharmacists in Australia), also carry a copy of your prescription from your doctor. In some countries it is a criminal offence the decant your medications like that. And the one thing you don't want is that your medication is confiscated.

I use the same brow product and I swear by it! I have a scar through my right eyebrow so I fill in my eyebrows almost anytime I’m leaving the house and it was a game changer.
I really need to get a double set of all my makeup and toiletries too. I’m super minimal when it comes to makeup so I feel like it wouldn’t break the bank and it would just simplify everything if I didn’t have to worry about packing up my makeup and toiletries every time!
