I would feel better making two Brummel splices and looping them together like and extension line. The one you made will for sure hold under tension, but could loosen if it gets snagged when not in tension as there is no locking mechanism as there is with a Brummel splice.
I’m shure you would not fly this line for extended period of time, I’d recommend a Brummel lock splice and also thin out the ends of the line covered inside the other. I do all my lines and barsystems all by myself for years using brummel lock splice only. Also for depower lines and adjuster lines using 4mm lines doubled up to make them thicker to match the cleat. This way you end up with a loop at one end and a simple figure8 knot on the other end for the trimm handle
In theory can't this still pull straight through (or at least potentially loosen over time?) I get that the outside braiding will tend to grip the line thats threaded through the inside under tension, but is this friction for sure stronger than the original line?

Awesome ... I was wondering how to fix my lines if I'm in an isolated area and want to get back on the water quick.
Hello, can you fil a Bridle? or can you build a brible set for a Duotone Evo SLS 9 m?

Great tutorial Jeff, thanks!
Hello, Do you use the same tool to make an eye at the end of your line also? just weave it back into itself? TIA
Sure do, it is a great little tool to have laying around.
good luck loosening a braid on the end of a line that has been used for years... sure works great on new though huh?
It can be more challenging on older lines, but it does work.
