A couple of observations: you don't need to buy tools (they are actually quite expensive) as you say at the end, just use a wire. I would suggest an old thick knitting needle to open up the lines for the first steps. The only other thing that you should always do is to taper the end of the line before you bury it inside at the last step. Tapering the line makes a big difference to the final strength as you otherwise make a weak point where the internal line ends.

I do it a little different. I do the the first mark, then pull it past the second and pull the line through. I find its easier than pulling the loop through the second hole.
I used to do it like that but then i found the line opened. It has to be sown if used that way. If you pull it doesn’t but once the line is slack the eye of the line can open.

Great video but honestly I haven't seen anybody who have had this kind of tools :-). Maybe some qualified service. I'm still a beginner kitesurfer, but it's good to know that you don't have to buy new lines right away.
If you break 1 line you need to cut all the others to make them have the same length. To connect them you need to make a loop to loop connection. So you will need to make loops in all 4 ends to do this. There is another way to fix it by splicing them together but this method also allows you to shorten the lines if you need it

What about adding a knot in the loop to make for a universal loop/knot connection for different kites? Is that doable?
I don’t think you can do it with this technique. If you use a sewing machine it will work i think.

By not tapering the bury, the weakest point of the whole line is now the point where the line steps in its thickness.

These are available and used by sailors we just need to use the smaller ones for our lines that are also small, same techniques apply.
Why not figure of 8 knots?
All knots weaken the line. I don't recommend using figure 8 to connect the lines to the kite.
Looked up the two tools. 26 euros but 44 when delivery added.......too much.
You can make them with alternative material. I’ll try to make a video for that
