I bought my ‘19 Optima new and dealt with the poor OEM headlights for over three years. That’s until I happened to see this video. I just changed them after ordering those LED’s. It was so easy and quick. I shined them in my garage and they look good. Now I can’t wait to test them at night. I commute 122 miles round trip each day. Coming home it’s dark. These will greatly improve my night vision, being over 50 and tired from work. Thank you so much for this easy step by step video. You kept me from going to the dealer and paying labor for something so simple.

I see this looks like a H11 bulb, for those with older models (mine is 2012) you have an H11B bulb which connects different and has 2 exposed prongs on the base that when rotated in the socket slide into the connection. These H11 bulbs click into an existing wiring harneess.. amazon does have adapters with the bulbs so be careful.
I noticed that you put the dust covers back on after installing the lights. Question, does this stop the airflow to cool the lights down even though the lights have a fan on the bottom?
I am really having difficulty getting the LOW BEAM bulb to twist and bring it out of the housing on the DRIVERS SIDE. I noticed you used your right hand to remove. I have found that is the best hand to use. I can get my hand in the housing, but can’t get a good grip on the bulb to twist it. That area around the housing is so cramped and it’s difficult to really get a confident grip on turning that bulb. Any words of wisdom on how to get that bulb out would be appreciated.
If I’m remembering correctly from when I did the install you almost have to just use 2-3 fingers to twist the bulb. Like instead of trying to go with thumb, pointer and middle finger to pinch it just go with pointer and middle finger to twist it until it unlocks then use your thumb and the other two to pull it out. It’s kinds of hard to explain over text but I hope this helps a little.
Not sure about that, the connector will probably be different. You can go on Amazon where I got these and put in your year and model and it will show you compatible lights to use.

Can you tell me which bulbs you used? I followed your link but not sure which ones i would need for my low beams. I have a headlight out and have been wanting to upgrade my lows anyway so i might as well replace both and upgrade now
Hey brother, question, does your optima use H11s for low beam? I’m trying to figure out why and how tf some optimas like mine (2020 hybrid EX) came with H7s for low beams instead of H11s. So irritating and harder to work with. Great video brothers.
Hi, are there any problems with beam shining in opposite drivers eyes? I like how original h7 cuts out the light. I dont want to irritate other drivers. And are your LED bulbs still working? Thanks
So far they are still working great, haven’t had any one flash their lights at me or anything like that so I assume it’s not irritating others on the road. I am also low to the ground too so that may help in keeping it out of their eyes.
If they are stuck or hard to get off you may have to get a second pair of hands to help you turn. Those caps can be quite stuck on there and the only other way to get them out is probably breaking them but I don’t think you want to do that
Did you have to reset the led part because some videos show led that need to be set. Example if the led is pointing up it needs to point to the sides or the other way around?
Didn’t have to reset them. I’ve heard of that but I didn’t have to make any adjustments. I think the way the light housing is made it reflects the light outward no matter which way the actual bulb/led is pointing.
KDM_Curt cool man. If you don’t mind me asking you. How long have you had the LED headlights? And have you encounter any problems? Cause I have a 2020 optima LX. And I want to switch to LED and your video makes my choice easier.

Im on a road trip across Canada from Niagara Falls to Vancouver and wanted to change em because the stock lights are ass. Night driving in the mountains is scary with the stock lights. That is a possibility for sure. I even struggled a little bit with these at first and finding the right place for the connector to sit since these lamps are bigger than the OEM ones but eventually I got them to sit right and with the caps on. If they don’t end up fitting you can always send em back and try another pair. Sometimes with these things it’s just trial and error until you find the right part.

@@michaelray9507 no problem, Merry Christmas to you as well!
U never even said what leds they are like H11 or anything
There’s a link to them in the description of the video if you’re looking for part numbers.
Did you get any flickering or a warning "Bulb Out Signal" ? Or did you install a Load Resistor?
Only installed the lights, no resistors. Haven’t had any issues with flickering or bulb out signals. They seem to be perfectly fine.
Awesome thanks
