I like how the Black Belt's team consisted of real names and words. I know it was just the end of each name, but it worked out because of the Pokémon he used.

Huh. I only just realized that the models and animations of the Pokemon here were reused for Pokemon Colosseum and its sequel, XD: Gale of Darkness. Must've been the Espeon that made me realize that.
Yeah, you can really tell because in the GameCube games and Battle Revolution on the Wii, all the newest Pokemon have nice looking models, and the 1st and 2nd gen Pokemon still have these low-poly janky N64 models.
Personally I don't actually mind; at least they're up-scaled

Seems like these battles are rigged af sometimes. The number of times your pokemon miss compared to the computer is absolutely bananas.

If you use your Silver cartridge, even if you don't use any of your pokemon, you can use hold items that you own. So you can give someone a twistedspoon or leftovers. Just an FYI.

Oof, this is rough. When Ampharos came in vs. Fearow, you should've switched to Sandslash instantly. In that second battle, when you said Li would probably be one-shot by PsyBeam because its defense was worse? Uh...no, the Hitmons all have the same special defense, I believe, and it's actually halfway decent. Their HP and physical defenses are a bit lower, but PsyBeam from Espeon doesn't OHKO without a crit.
That run of luck you had vs. that annoying Wigglytuff was brutal.
The problem is that in gen 2, Dark is special, and Clefable's Special Defense is pretty good, while its Defense is its weakness. Also, Umbreon is not the best attacker either, as you mentioned, even though its Attack is slightly higher than its Special Attack, and using a 60 base power move like Faint Attack, it didn't stand a chance against Clefable. Umbreon isn't the best Pokémon in gen 2, but it can be used for stalling, with Toxic and Moonlight being the most important moves, and possibly giving it Curse to boost it a little bit.
Sadly, the developers were not so kind to give us the full "Tanky Umbreon" kit.

It’s honestly better in Gen IV, imo, since Payback is effectively BP 100 STAB with how slow it is. Still weak attack, but what can ya do?

Toxic TM doesn't work on Umbreon in BDSP. I ended up going with a Swagger Attract Foul Play set

Using Sand-Attack probably wouldn't work; considering the enemy had enough luck to just spam SING of all moves and not miss (55% accuracy unless I'm remembering wrong)
I've always thought I have the worst luck in Pokemon. I was wrong. But you also make more bad decisions than having bad luck. Not to mention always forgetting type matchups.

I still am questioning why Scykoh does things sometimes, luckily the enemy normally does something on some choices to make it not matter anyways, like finishing that Charizard with a more accurate, still super effective Surf rather than try an Ancient Power with a bit less accuracy.
Then again as I say I like accuracy more than power most of the time.

Doesn't the no two Pokémon asleep rule apply? You can swap out a sleeping Pokémon and be immune to sleep.

if you fail you should make a few switches bring Heracross with a mint Berry Machamp with a bitter Berry and switch Magmar for Wobbuffet that's the team I use plus the other three you're using except I use Kadabra in place of Espeon

Doesn't help Umbreon's case that Faint Attack is Dark and in gen 2 Dark is Special. Then again it's only a 5 base stat difference so eh.

That Wigglytuff on the first match looks pretty weird. Normally, the white part of the belly extends past the mouth. This one doesn't have that and the mouth looks weird af

You should really scroll down the items list, you should find more normal held items like pink bows and such that are more frequently useful. It's cringe-worthy to watch those random nonsense berries get put on, even if they do randomly become useful.
he's using rentals you dolt, they only give you those berries.
If you watch early he selects the berries and there's a slide bar on the left. The list goes down farther than that.
Really?! If that's true, I've been missing out on some tactics options back in the day.
If you acutally played the game you'd know that bar in rentals doesnt move.
It's worth noting he still has his copy of Crystal plugged in.
