That mount doesnt mess with the gun, is reversable with no damage, and looks about as fun as all hell to shoot. The funky look isnt even too bad since the rail matches, and the tradeoff downrange vs buckhorns is worthwhile Im sure. Lever guns caught on because they were the best technology of their time, they were invented to better fill a need that is now better filled by other platforms. A lil rail can only help keep these things relevant for generations to come. Ive got the Carbine version in 45LC and if ya ever go back to Irons the Bullseye sight from Marble is fun. Drops 200+grains righ where I want em at 100 yards and never loses your sight picture like buckhorns.
I love it.I have one myself except mine is a round 16 inch barrel in 357 mag & 38 Spl..It does not have the Safety Block. I would love to have another one. But with an octagon barrel and a few inches longer.I love octagon barrels
Mine is very ammo picky but works fine with JHP in both. 38 and. 357. Any ammo with soft lead tip won't feed into the barrel though and reading forums they're hit or miss with this.

Especially scout scopes since it would have allowed for his action design to remain the same. Theres actually enough meat in that octagonal barel to have it drilled and tapped and a rail attached.

I put a reflex redot sight on my Henry Big Boy, accurate as hell.
Planning on doing exactly the same thing on my .357/.38spl. I think it'll turn out to be a great coyote gun. Good video.
I have one just like it. It is a "Short rifle" 20" octagonal barrel with the rifle fore end and butt stock. Great gun.
Interesting set up might do the same.I have an eo-tech holo sight on an old 95 Marlin and it works superbly.

No they are not. Chiappa makes their own version of the model 1892.
