Penelope's gotten so big and Kathleen's hair has gotten so long that in the first few shots I was surprised G kept including two total strangers in the vlog.
First time I was like "Oh, I wonder if he asked those people if he could film them". Second time I was like "Oh, that's Penelope and Kathleen". It's especially weird because I've been watching old Desert Buses so my image of Penelope is that she's ankle high and excited about pictures of owls in chat.
I'm eating breakfast while watching this and my eyes are really blurry first thing in the morning so it took me all the way until the river crossing, over four and a half minutes in, to realize that Graham wasn't just filming a random woman and her kid, which would have been a very strange thing for him to do.
@@amythistxue1 I still have Penelope at the size she was in Australia in my head. This completely was a, "holy crap that much time has passed" vlog for me.
I remember viewers asking how much Penelope would be a part of LRR going forward, and them answering as much as she feels comfortable with, when she's ready to make the decision. "Can I add something" sounds like consent to me!
I didn't realize how much I'd missed your wholesome content, Graham, until I saw this video. Thank you for adding a peaceful nature walk/family outing to the TH-cam ether.
@@Aedi on a stream she said "Tomato" in a very heavy English accent, which left Graham very surprised. It was on a highlight reel some time ago, though I don't remember when exactly.
If I recall correctly, there is a clip in DesertBus where they explain that she picked up the English accent from Peppa Pig, like a lot of kids her age.
Truly death approaches for us old people. on the upside can't wait for Penelope to crush people in Magic with her youthful vigor, if she choose to play the game.
I’m so happy to see more GVlogs. These make me so happy. Aside, the river crossing things are really cool and all, but my first thought was “Ah, a trail intentionally made worse for people with mobility disabilities.” But I’m glad at least one of the crossings had a bike bridge, it looked like.
I just kinda go "awww" for twenty minutes straight at every video of Graham and Kathleen in full parentmode. This is the best family content on the tubes
I'm guessing for the most part it's futile to resist, but in part it's balanced by the days when she goes from small well-spoken English woman to pissed off Gremlin, as kids are wont to do
This is a lovely trail and I'm so pissed that with my current foot problems, I wouldn't be able to travel on it. Not just the stepping stone platforms, but also the length and going through the swamp. Also, I appreciate how you let Penelope decide how much she wants to say in your vlogs now.
That looks so nice! A litte jealous of that weaher. It's been cold and rainy here for several days now, and the pre-summer heat hasn't arrived yet. Will next week, though. Probably.
So the video ended and it auto played the next video, but in appreciation of your time and effort making the new video, I have now "backed" to this video and hit the "like" button. Thanks Graham :)
The videos on this channel have the same vibe as catching up with a friend you havent seen in months and you wont hear from again for a bit, but always have a good time even if yall dont do much
One more piece of feedback in the on-board camera v Moment lens. The Moment lens introduces much more small movement to the shots. If you watch the edge of frame in the comparison around 5:28, you can see that the Moment lens has much more movement than the on-board camera. There are probably multiple reasons for this; the fact that it's a lens mounted to a case probably has some give, the additional size exaggerates any existing movement, the weight means more corrective movement, etc.
I was also momentarily shocked by Penelope's size but then I remembered she is only a month younger than a nephew I see several times a week and my brain was like "yeah that tracks"
Thank you Graham for allowing us to see this nice family walk. It warms my heart. Also Penelope is growing up to be as much of a hype woman as Kathleen I see!
Just wanted to say thanks for these vlogs. They're my favorite youtube content period. Pleasant, coherent, thoughtful, pretty. When they pop up I set them aside to watch with dinner when I need a reminder that the world is actually kind of nice.
1. I like the built-in camera better, definitely, for still shots, but for moving shots, either is fine. 2. "Hey look! An eagle!" Oh dang, that brought me back to Phailhaus! Wow! 3. Penelope has OPINIONS, and I love it. :-D
Great vid. Bigger fan of the iphone over the moment shots. I LOVE those platforms and wish there were a thing in more parks/nature trails. Nice to see the accessibility options near them as well.
Over the pandemic I've been rewatching videos on this channel, it just reminded me a lot of what wasn't happening and made me relaxed and calm. This video did the same, thanks for creating such stunning wholesome videos!
Hey Graham! Just wanted to let you know that I have been working through the backlog of all your PAX vlogs and living vicariously through your adventures in the time of covid. Thank you sir!
It astonishes me everytime how smooth iPhone videos are. That image stabilization is something else. Also: I prefer the iphone ultra wide (if someone cares). Also: no extra lens to carry around.
I started watching LRR like 15 years ago, sometime around when they did the Talk like a Pirate video. Its crazy to think about that video and now see Graham vlogging with his kid. Graham, we're old now..
There was, not a ton but a noticeable amount, more shakiness with the Moment lens. I wonder if the built-in ultrawide uses some kind of automatic image stabilization in the software that the wide doesn't cause even when you were walking with it, it felt a lot smoother. (or maybe the lens just makes the phone awkward to hold and was causing your hand to shake slightly more)
If just having had a birthday this week didn't make me feel old enough, seeing Penelope as a grown ass child instead of a tiny toddler certainly did it :X Maybe it's because I don't watch any of the streams or DB (or because you've just kept her out of the videos), but it feels like it wasn't that long ago that she was just born o0
I recently bought my first drone. Since then I’ve been really interested in filming and video editing. I gotta work, but I’ll definitely finishing watching this when I finish
It's still so wild seeing how much Penelope has grown. Definitely picking up a little bit of that sponsorship promoter vibes from her about those platforms
I had forgotten that you and Kathleen are parents. I see Penelope is in the "sticks are fun!" phase. As many have said, it's delightful to have a new vlog from you. :D
I'm just here for that good "Graham and Kathleen being excellent parents" content
Penelope's gotten so big and Kathleen's hair has gotten so long that in the first few shots I was surprised G kept including two total strangers in the vlog.
I didn't figure it out the first time they were shown, I figured it out *because* they kept showing up
First time I was like "Oh, I wonder if he asked those people if he could film them". Second time I was like "Oh, that's Penelope and Kathleen". It's especially weird because I've been watching old Desert Buses so my image of Penelope is that she's ankle high and excited about pictures of owls in chat.

"I learned a lot, which isn't true, but I learned a little." -Graham
Child on a walk "IVE GOT A STICK! IM GONNA HIT SOMETHING! Im tired of this stick im gonna throw it now." would seem to be universal.
Yes . . . just children >.>
Penelope: *Talks about platforms*
Graham: "Can't get more of a definitive review than that."
I live for this.
I look forward to the next installment of 'Penelope Reviews' - next time: playgrounds.

To be fair, last we seen of her, she was barely more than prop baby sized.

I love the "Narrator" style subtitles, especially the last one. And just for the record: I do prefer the look of the built-in ultrawide.
I swear the next time I watch one of these videos Penelope's going to be as tall as Graham.
0:33 "The Salmonid Enhancement Program" sounds like they're making cyborg fish.

I learned how much I missed GVlogs - would love to see more "nature parks of Victoria" vlogs
The v is for Victoria and the log is because there are logs in the video
I can't believe how big Penelope is!
You really *can't* get more of a definitive review than that. It's the kind of attitute Google maps or whatever needs more of.
Why is Penelope so tall already?! When did all that time pass? aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
It's been COVID for roughly 20 years already. I'm surprised she isn't in college yet.
During the platforms part I flashbacked to Graham falling off platforms in Crash Bandicoot and kept going noooo jump noooow.
8:39 I remember there was the tomato incident, but wow Penelope sounds quite English...
the tomato incident?
@@Aedi on a stream she said "Tomato" in a very heavy English accent, which left Graham very surprised. It was on a highlight reel some time ago, though I don't remember when exactly.
