For poly caps I feel like how the kit was being stored makes a big difference because they do stretch just a bit more when they’re held at a warm temp for a while
the "holding hands that have nothing to hold" actually holds the sabers i think. there's holes there. EDIT: the beam sabers store on the seltsam cannon's shield. EDIT 2: the hands don't hold the beam sabers. MJ2005GUNDAM's review on it showed that the peg is too loose. Storage point still stands though.
Yeah They can hold those sabers not only that those cannons in the legs also can act like sabers I took some old 00 sabers from the 0 gundam and put them in the cannon sabers of my Seltsam and they fit perfectly and in the holding hands too
One problem I see in the Re rise kits is that the accessories are sold separately or the accessories are there but there is a missing piece like the beam rifle of marsfour gundam
The core gundam is the worst. They're trying to make it affordable but what's with having to buy a seperate kit and 2 upgrades if you want a new unit? Would it really be too expensive to have the armor come with either a core or it weapons?
@@rhaeasoul8531 honestly the idea of a Gundam coming with a core gundam is great but having to buy another gundam just to have the other piece thats missing like the Beam spraygun from other kits is stupid. The idea of a seperate Gundam Flight unit is a great idea for those that don't want to buy another core gundam
Well if they're trying to make it cheap they should sell the core or core 2 alone and cheaper. You can say they're trying to make it affordable but that doesn't come across when half their kits are missing their weapons and they're releasing kits that are useless without buying a seperate specialized kit.
Idk, I feel like this is Bandai being tight, it seems like a bad choice to me, why the hell are the weapons for each kit/frame sold separately? I'd go without the Core Gundam and have the armor and weapons together in a separate kit. I hope this doesn't become a trend with kits from future shows.
13:00 I don't think the problem is restricted to the polycaps. You might have just got a lemon. I've built quite a few HG Grazes, and one of them had a loose right upper arm. It can't hold up that long rifle from the Gusion Rebake quite well, it falls down over time, but my other Grazes are fine.
Speaking from experience with my Seltsam, the only stability/integrity issues I have are the hips being a bit loose and the elbows splitting apart when bent too often. The hips are kinda understandable considering the absolute heft of the upper body, and the elbows are just poorly designed, no getting around that. Just my two cents since you were wondering if your Seltsam was an isolated bad egg
It's possible, though unlikely, that Bandai took a file to the molds and tightened up a couple connections. You'd need to get a Seltsam produced after the Tertium to check though.
After seeing the future custom Tertium Arms kit, not the Seltsam arms kit in the video by the way. Tertium Gundam plus the Tertium arms will be the MK III, or at least as close as we get to one.
I know I'm like a year late but I recently got a hold of this kit and I solved the problem with the arm joints: replace those plastic pieces (C1/2 4, C1/2 5) with their pollycap equivalents. I had some spares lying around in my boxes and it fixed the issue of the arms falling out every time you touch them. The plastic they made the parts from is that malleable plastic that easily gets bent and shaped so there is zero friction the first time they fall out because the hole gets warped by the connecting peg.
It going to be the molding of the model kits. I work with heavy machinery that is similar to what they make gunpla with and each piece that comes out it's not going to be the same. Sure we have to check on the piece once and a while to see if it is still good but its going to come out different. I have a MG Qan T and my friend has one and when I look at my friends Qan t it manage to hold its GN sword with no problem compared to mine. So its most likely the mold. Not to bash gunpla youtubers but i tend to take the review with a little doubt because I know everyones gunpla is going to be different.
Glad this review came out. Was thinking about getting this, honestly if it had the shield I probably still would but I’ll just wait for a Mk3 because it really does look really cool.
5:54 the beam sabers are stored on the OUTWARD of the shield?! That's the dumbest place to store your weapon. Blocking any attacks run the risk of destroying the beam sabers and not to mention the chance of enemy getting close and stealing them. Smh.
I don't know about yours but my Seltsam was pretty solid today. I've bought like 1 week after it's release and after I built it, I changed it's pose like 30 times everyday and it's still solid. I haven't put any glue on the joints. I really want to buy this just for the guns.
Well, rubber has another important quality- it can help to absorb impact. That is why you see the continued use of polycaps in even the ultra simplified kits like the HG Leo. While it replaces the shoulder polycap with plastic, it doesn't do this everywhere. It uses the ball polycap in the ankles, the hip, and the two waist joints- all of which bear the entire kit on top of them. If i had to take a guess, it likely helps to cushion the kit against its own weight. And this is likely part of why bandai is usually reluctant to release kits completely free of polycaps. While they are working out how to get smooth joints down pat, they haven't found an effective way to replace these other purposes.
Lol I’m retrospect since this video came back up in my feed the holding hands are for the bigger beam sabers for the mkiii. The beam guns in the legs are the bigger beam sabers. Which once I got the mkiii and figured it out I took some extra beams from 1/100 and used those as the tertiums beam sabers.
Other bummer thing about PC's is if you try to tighten the joint up with a little top coat or something, that rubber is going to stretch out around the new size and will still loosen up over time. I'm not really sure what can be done to repair them once they loosen up.
And....... Mk.III is a P-Bandai, I don't understand why.... I meant like the RE100 is a regular release. This is so sad, bandai just went on a P-Bandai streak this past month
The beam sabers can be stored in the folding shield binder, it’s where you put the beam sabers on the seltsam since it doesn’t use them Oh on that note maybe see if the peg on the open holding hand can fit in the hole in the beam saber handle
The seltsam I bought arrived 2 days ago. It required a bit of work to make it playable. I also used putty to fill in those gaps. It looks and feels better now.
What is it with re rise and sold seperately accessories? First the core gundam line then this. A seperate corefighter / weapon set is fine but I mean what's with the main suit not having any weapons if you didn't gets Its add in set?
But I mean would it be so bad if the extra armors either came with a core unit or included their weapon? I mean you're telling me that not only do I need one model kit to get the core figure but I also need this extra armor set and a seperate weapon kit for said armor? Also with cost cutting; remember build fighters / divers s1 where at the very least you got a full working kit even if you needed some special backpack the base kit worked on its own?
Mind you, its base kit is not yet conceived - the MkIII. It only had a Reborn 100 kit and that would be it. So it makes sense that it had little to begin with. But for the rest, yeah that is quite odd. It's probably a marketing strategy to entice more people to get the kit as well as the expansions.
It looks like they use the IBO polycaps and yes, those caps are PLAGUED with issues. In fact EVERY IBO KIT I've ever built that uses them has the exact same issue except for the Grimgerde. I picked up the ARX-8 Laevatein recently and it's completely unrelated except for the poly caps and take a guess how tight the caps are. Not very. I suggest using some glue to tighten them up and it should give them enough gripping strength for now. The old HG Wing kits from the 1/100 line had a similar issue but a generous application of gorilla glue on the cap and sockets corrected the issues at least for now. So yeah it's the caps.
So..... Tertium is better than Seltsam? ODD, XD. Hey Mecha, do you know if Core gundam works with the machine rider and/or the mercury rev from gundam build fighters amazing(the manga)?
I agree that polycap builds are a bit of a gamble. I bought a couple kits with similar builds, the GM GM, Guard Frame, and GBN Base Gundam. True. I stored one of my sd in car, the next day all the joint became very loose previously after applying topcoat the joints are very rigid
