This is my reaction to Comedy Company (Uncle Arthur)
Recently I have made reactions to Comedy Company characters Col'n Carpenter and Con the Fruiterer. Another character that a lot of people asked me to check out was Uncle Arthur played by Russell Coight All Aussie Adventures actor Glenn Robbins.

Can't blame you for not recognising the map of Tassie...Aussie colloquialism for the female minge.

Did you get "Kath and Kim" in the UK? Glenn Robbins played Kel Knight and his screen wife was played by Jane Turner. Before the on-screen marriage of Kel and Kath her name was Kath Day - so she became Kath Day-Knight. It's really worth a Captain Cook.

Please PLEASE cover Poida from Full Frontal! A marvellous Aussie stereotype created by the great Eric Bana, nonetheless.

My favourite episode of glen robbins as kel knight in Kath and Kim is the one where Kath thinks Kim is gay and then freaks out when kel hints at his time in the navy. he then shows up to show her he’s a real man, hilarious!!

I wouldn't say that Uncle Arthur was dodgy, more doddering. Kind of like Corporal Jones in Dad's Army. Dodgy here tends more to indicate something that isn't quite legal or legitimate where he's more a bit of an old-fashioned, older generation person who wasn't up to the ways of the modern world.

You were looking a bit puzzled at the green illustration. It was a 'Map of Tazzie'. (Tasmania).
It's Australian slang for female genitalia (furred version).
All of these characters are stereotypes, there's plenty of them here.

I have to laugh, Uncle Arthur a favourite. I will never forget my Sex ed teacher, he had a display of all things covering this field.
Not long after a food fight styled (except with all the spermicide etc.) as the headmistress entered and told us all to leave. The teacher got a grilling, and after all the ranting and shouting dyed down, he replied, but I bet they all know everything I just taught them about safe sex....This was around the time Aids appeared and the world was in shock. It definitively pushed the point home that's for sure.

I havent heard that name mentioned in years! 20 years ago we had an alcoholic, old school criminal neighbor, that looked like Milo Kerrigan, so we called him Milo. Even in his old age the cops still handled him with caution.
In short - They did a good stereotype of an old school dodgy crook.

Uncle Arthur was a hit and miss character in terms of laughs but think that was the nature of that frequent shows on tv for Comedy Company. If you have to continue to produce an hour long show for tv maybe there will be a lot of hit and misses in terms of skits really funny over time. I do not remember every skit being funny but every now and then there was one really brilliant. I think it the same with All Aussie Adventures too. At the time it was not that big but decades later with youtube you can see some of the better bits between the ones that were misses and think it more brilliant than it was considered at the time. Colin Carpenter character was not done by Glenn Robbins by the way. That was Kym Gyngell, I think was his name, and more often that not was a good skit.
