She is Mary-Anne Fahey (more famous for her character portraying teen school girl Kylie Mole, and who once did a great sketch playing that character with the real Kylie Minogue) and was actually married at the time to Ian McFadyen, the writer and producer of the show who also played the character David Rabbitborough in Comedy Company sketches.

Mary-Anne Fahey, along with her husband at the time, Ian McFadyen, were the two main writers for the Comedy Company. Mary-Anne's most famous character in the show was Kylie Mole, which sometimes included guest stars, such as Julian Lennon and Kylie Minogue.

Play School has been a fixture on the ABC, our national broadcaster, for decades. I watched it in the early-mid 70s, when a lot of the presenters had that faux British accent. A few years ago when I watched the 50th anniversary special, I was astounded to find that one presenter, whom I'd always thought was English, was Aussie as anything 😂

    • @bernadettelanders7306

Play School first aired in 1966 and was based on the BBC's show of the same name that first aired in 1964, but that ended in 1988.
