Changed my engine, and had the chance to buy a mercury 75hp saltwater, decided to put it on my PT175. She will run 56 mph trimmed up with two people in the boat, and I love it! Still not bad on fuel, but gets me where I want to go in a hurry!
That’s awesome. You will have a ton of fun on it. Which engine did you get? Also I have a video on how to install vessel view. Mercury Vessel View Installation th-cam.com/video/4St3urrMkfA/w-d-xo.html
It's tough to pick just one upgrade that I've made to my tracker. But I guess it would be the terrova trolling motor. It's still 12v, but paired with the lithium battery I have full power ALL DAY. I would say my favorite upgrade your boat, even though you removed it, would be the vessel view. Thanks for the break-down and honest reviews.
@@clearwaterfishing The spotlock feature is phenomenal. The pedal is low profile and the buttons on it are easy to use. Auto pilot feature is great. Just point it at an object down the bank, hit the button, and it keeps you going toward that object. Every button on it is useful. The battery power indicator is great too.
Yes def upgrade the transom saver. Good call on the upgrade tires, I blew out bran new tires and really ruins your day. Carry a spare and jack is a must too. The tires they give on trailer junk. D rated is much better, use your existing tires for spares bolt to trailer.
@@clearwaterfishing I like all interstate batteries, helix 7 gen3 on a transaver, led lights in or out of boat for night identification. I keep a plug in 12v tow truck light amber bar say 18/24 inches with me on boat for emergency’s for rescue if I get stranded. Also I use it when backing in driveway as rude drivers always try to beat me and get past and risk smashing my 75 ho in a million pieces. With the amber flashing lights I can’t loose in court when someone drives behind me when I’m backing boat into up driveway. Sounds crazy but drivers do it why can’t they wait 30 seconds) that with the camera system you can’t lose. Another thing I like is I raise worms and keep them in the boat where it’s cool and have an unlimited supply of worms found in my mulch beds. I like a dash cam also on my boat. And a shot gun ,or pistol with at least six clips. (For assholes on the water) Milwaukee M 18 500 W LED lights are great for lighting up when coming in late to light up docks .Milwaukee head lamps and extra AAA battery’s. I carry a quality snap on brand jump pack ( no pull cord on 75 hp) sling shot to scare birds off my fishing area. I letter my trailer with my company name w phone number so they steal someone else’s trailer when I’m out on the lake as locks get grinded off near Pittsburgh Pa lakes. Velcro a mini Bose speaker to dash always have good tunes. Plug live well use for ice cooler because water was always backing up flooding boat in reverse. I cut out middle seat, used a breaker box lid for lift up access to store battery charger and misc. lifts up and closes use for step. I replaced back straps on transom with the seat belt ratchet type and bolted to trailer, real nice and totally secure now. Bigger wider led bar on back trailer for drunks to see me. Two strip red leds on rear boat so drunks can see 75 hp motor and boat better at night leaving no excuses. I replaced my 08 trailer with a 2022 trailer ( from tires blowing out totaled the 08) and the 2022 is coated with undercoating like rough surface to deter rust deterrent. I installed green led strips all way down the top both sides of trailer so I can’t be missed driving and put them on a remote to easily find my trailer at night amoung 100 other peoples trailer that parked next to me while at camp ground. I keep a grinder in case someone blocks me in to grind off their lock and move them w my truck then I put my lock on their trailer for principal. Break tooth pick off in key hole if they block me good. I carry a battery operated fish tank pump in case I need to pump out water in case emergency. I keep 12 ft spray bear mace on boat for any lighter defense reasons, animals that may jump on boat, or other boaters bad dogs that cause problems..
Lots of great ideas ransom saver is one I going with now I run 4 12 Lowrance hds live12 all ready and I've got minnkota trolling motor 112poud and Lowrance active target
Great video! Lots of good ideas! I really like the stern saver. I have the MG Xi5 on mine, and totally agree with your opinion about the foot pedal. I also find it near impossible to use when standing even after changing to a less stiff pair of springs in the pedal. The handheld remote isn't much better as far as convenience goes. Fumbling for the remote while you're fishing is a pain. An Ultrex or Terrova would be my choice if I were to change. I will say that the Xi5 has worked great since getting the update performed on it. As a side note, I actually mounted my Lowrance transducer to a Bowducer at the bow. I don't have Livescope, but using the Bowducer allows for side imaging at the bow.
Hi James. I got the 4 blade SpitFire and I keep having blowouts. I'm guessing I got the wrong size. What diameter are you running? Also, I have a 2014 TXW and need to upgrade my TM power cable to 6 gauge for the Garmin Force. Unfortunately, from the factory, I have 6 AWG at the battery and 8 AGW at the plug! I'm concerned about pulling and disconnecting who-knows-what that might be connected at that joint. Do you know where we can get hooked up with a wiring diagram? Tracker is no help at all.
I agree with the motorguide torlling motor peddle. I had one. It sucked. I had a hard time linking it up to the trolling motor. It never worked right and I just dumped the whole setup.
Dang when did you get that garmin unit? I have the current one and echo map uhd 93sv and i got i got it for $599 around march or april i believe they had them on sale when the gt-56 transducer came out i think. you prolly got it before if not i would be pissed lol

I pick up my brand new Pro Team 175 TF on this Friday. I’m excited and this video has helped give me some ideals. The vessel view is a must.

@@clearwaterfishing I got the 75 hp Mercury. One more full day. And I’m fishing a tournament on Monday.
@@jameslovelace8958 you will scoot in the 75.
My favorite is the stern saver. I always get nervous drilling holes into my boat. Great solution to that!
I definitely love mine.
Great job. I like the way you mounted the Livescope
I'm glad you like it

The diameter was 10.1". Man idk where to find a wiring diagram.

@@clearwaterfishing yep spot lock worked like a champ. Mine came with a remote/fob.
Do you use an extended pedestal and seat for fishing? If so, which one do you use?
Which transom saver did you go with?
What battery bracket did you use to fit all 3 in there?
I used size 29 battery trays from NOCO or another brand.
Which length did you get for the trolling motor?
Im looking at the XI5 to synch with my lowrance units
If you are talking NMEA cable I think I got 15 or 20 ft to get to the console.

It has been awhile. It was the year before they came out with the UHD. If I would have known I would have waited.
How is the stern saver holding up?
Still there with no problems. Rock solid.
