Just wanted to say that I loved your video! I have a 2015 Tracker PT175 that I wanted to do Somme upgrades to and this video will certainly help. My story is a lot like yours as far as fishing. Fished years from the back as co-angler and now have my PT 175. I’m learning as I go about upgrading. Thanks for the great info.
Very nice upgrades and tips. The more you fish with the boat I am sure you will be adding additional upgrades for your style of fishing. I added under water lights to my boat for night fishing. There is a small upgrade that most people overlook and it only comes with experience. You need to change the fuel line to black hose. Your factory fuel line will degrade over time internally and cause fuel contamination. The fuel hose will degrade even sooner using ethanol fuel. Thank you for sharing and making this video. this is the boat i own. i have owned a skeeter a ranger and bought my 2008 pt175txw with a 60hp merc 4 stroke when i retired and it has been trouble free. this is my 4th tracker since 1987 and the last boat for me. always covered and garaged and still looks new. runs about 39mph at 1k ft elev

late to the party but the Talon looks badass. Only thing that I would have not done was changed the 12v outlet on the panel. you could have bought a dual USB insert for it instead. Just cut that things functionality in half. I have a power inverter and a spot light that plug into the standard 12v outlet as well as a dual USB insert so I can power all sorts of stuff.

We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite

I have a 2023 175 TXW w/75hp. I love some of your upgrades (esp the LED lights). I'm definitely looking into the Keel shield before I hit the water this season.

Very good! I own a 2000 175 Tournament. But with 75hp. This was also my first all-out bass/musky boat. I've learned a great deal through trial and error here in Wisconsin and extensively in Canada. Looking now to complete some upgrades. I'm going to adopt many of your ideas. Thanks very much... And hope you have a great year on water.

Yep i got the red new last summer. Vinyl instead of carpet. Right side rod holder is better suited for shorter rods but will take the 7' rods, just got to flex them more
Yes I keep my shorter rods on the right, but still, as long as you're careful, they are fine.

Great video. Thanks. We are getting ready to upgrade our fish Finders on the tracker 190. If you did you electronic upgrades yourself, how exactly do you dismantle and what do you have to dismantle to get the transducer wires through?
I haven’t done that myself yet. I had the marina do mine when I got it winterized….
That being said, i gotta believe you can wire under the aft deck and find a route up to the console and the bow.
Nice video. Do you recall what color wires come out of the accessory switch; where do I attach the + and -? I want to attach my Mega 360 Universal to the accessory switch. Thanks.
There were no wires going to the switch, as the switch was not in use. I ran my negative to the main negative post on the power bank and the positive to a terminal on the power bank that wasn't in use.
I also purchased a 2022 txw tournament edition but in white love it but I wished I went for a 75hp motor
Me too but I needed the 2021 at the 2021 price minus the COVID inflation for the 2022's. The only one I found had the 60. Still does the job. I'll take it !

You would love spotlock for night fishing. I have the same boat and upgraded to a terrova and wouldn't be without it. Lights are cool
Yep. I'll be upgrading to a spot lock trolling motor next season. And, yes, with the night fishing I do, the lights are terrific. I will be doing a video on the install of both the boat LED kit and the trailer kit....

Great upgrades!! Does only having 1 talon make your boat spin around in current or wind? Thank you and happy holidays!
It depends on how sloppy the weather is. If strong current or wind…then the boat will spin to the direction with the wind or current. But once it’s there, it stays put. That is to say that it doesn’t continually spin…it just moves into position with the wind or current when you initially deploy the talon and the talon grabs the bottom.
When you order the starboard sandwich bracket….does the kit come with the spacer for the other side of the motor transom? Or is that extra? Not seeing it

Haven't tried on mine yet but how do you get the lug nut cover off to change the tire?
There’s a decorative plastic cover over the lugs. It has a slot for a screwdriver or other tool to pry it off.
Did you finance the boat? If so how was that process? What do you think insurance costs might be?

I financed a portion of it. As easy as any other financing I suppose. My insurance on it is less than $200 annually.
Great video my garage is 21’3” I am looking at Ranger 178 and tracker 175 can you confirm the length to store your boat is 20’ 3”?
The towing length is 22'8". The storage length (with trailer tongue folded and with motor trimmed down) is 20'3".

Your trooling motor is not the most exspencive but it is the best. And should you have any truble with it mini koda will help you .They are the best . I don't think you realise what you have.
Yeah, 30mph is just fine... Until you are tournament fishing. They will beat you to spots, to the ramp and more. You have to be time conscious.
Just leave before the tournament starts.

You can’t just put a bracket on the port side. That makes the motor sit crooked with nothing on starboard side . Did it come with a spacer for the other side?? Or was it separate?
Ok. I got you. Yes the opposite side shim comes with the kit. I misunderstood what you were asking.

Not sure exactly what you mean. But you have to get either a port or starboard bracket, so far as I know. I may be mistaken, but when I ordered....I ordered a port bracket. Sorry if I misunderstand your question.
