    Ah. Cyan's encounter with that "licentious howler" in Nikeah makes so much sense now!
    I would like to see Cyan and Gau get a bit of surrogate father/son bonding time in an FF6 remake. In fact, now that I think about it, it makes more sense for Cyan to have been the one to introduce Gau to his father. He can spend time throughout the story teaching Gau manners and turning him into an upright young citizen with a sense of honor and duty (thus giving him a believable motivation to fight the Empire and Kefka that he lacks in the original story). Cyan then returns him to his true father with pride in his heart -- then gets violently offended when the father rejects him, having insanely thrown away the son that Cyan had lost. Gau talks him down from the verge of murder, just like the original scene with Sabin. Not because Gau cares anything about the kooky old stranger, but because Cyan is all the father figure he wants or needs. His heart softened with gratitude, Cyan feels pity toward the old man and spares him his wrath, then leaves with Gau.
    Then, because Cyan and Sabin also get their abilities enhanced by completing their story arcs, Gau gets a reward after his scene as well. He trains with Cyan to bring discipline and mastery to his Rage ability, which allows the player to select his moves at will from a menu of options instead of him acting randomly.

      wish it didn't have remake...just the remaster was already enough. I think they should remake VIII instead VI.
      imagine the FFVI (considered as masterpiece of all FF) and all those hardwork they did to create previous FFVI being crushed by FFVI "ReMake" which potentially different due to its modern mechanic and getting critique by fans which leads to FFVI shadowed by its modern shit.
      I'm not overthinking, it's just that they will not have those time to create these master piece. Multiple scenario play, Each character own mechanic, Second Arc after the world fall downz and most importantly, HOW WILL THEY REMAKE KEFKA 16BIT LAUGHING????

    I doubt any of the staff will read this; but, from the bottom a 40 year old's heart, thank you.
    Also, the fact they tagged several staff with writing compelling stories for individual characters was genius; we also got some of the best character development and backgrounds in the entire series.

      Hell I am 45 and FF7 was the first FF Game I played all the way thru. Yet FF6 also has a great story that has been lost in time. FF7 cause of the story just has and still does over shadow every other FF Game. At least here in the US. Hell I am playing the remastered ones on PC and the original with updated graphics is great. Now I am on FF2. I will work my way to this one and remember how great it was.

      no not FF7R, we need the octopath style remake

    • @thewarden7709
      @thewarden7709 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thing is, there IS a remade "Enhanced" version of it readily available on the GBA - just getting a legitimate copy is next to impossible; what with people charging a fortune for what can't be guaranteed to be legit given the ease of making the cartridge on a faux rom.
      And Nintendo have EVERY capability to put it up on the 3DS/Switch Store; all they'd have to do is say "Hey, SE - mind if we update the license?" But NOOOOOOOOO - all we get is the Mobile Version which, basically sucks and Nintendo have pretty much forgotten that the GBA even existed at this point... seeing as they uploaded the first two Pokémon game generations on the 3DS and just gave the GBA the finger.
      And I agree - VIIR was good visually, but ultimately disappoints as a remake to VII - seeing the excuse they had to split that game up, I'd have no faith in them doing such a thing for VI. An Octopath upscale from the Advanced port, now that I'd put money down for.

    • @jeffski360
      @jeffski360 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Personally, i would not want an octopath style remake. I thinks its just nostalgia playing our emotions.
      I would prefer a high budget complete remake similar to what we have seen in the FF16 trailers. But, I understand how this could probably the most complicated project, probably in gaming history.
      1. FF6 has different mechanics for each character - yes they all have Attack, magic, item. But they also have that one special feature that is unique for each character. I would imagine the playstyle would be like playing a different game for each character. If you play Monster Hunter, you know what I mean. In development, i imagine this would be hell.
      2. Every single character is important - lots of voice acting, scripts and the pacing of events in 3d would need to be highly thought of. FF7 made the mistake of being too linear and filled with boring sidequests. FF6 should not make this mistake in order replicate the same feel from the original. Cause quite frankly FF6 is the only FF i replayed several times and not feel dragged by boring bits.

      Cyan's love interest was a good cut, I think. He had just lost his family, Maybe, after the time jump it could happen, but even then it would have felt weird, almost creepy really in the context they were going for. Kinda stalkerish. It could be done, but seeing other romantic attempts in other media at that time, I'm glad they didn't try. But, I would have liked to see more between Sabin, Cyan, and Gau. Gau and Sabin's brashness with Cyan trying to keep them out of too much trouble is a great dynamic. It's one of the biggest reasons I still hope they make a modern remake of this game.

    • @charpkun
      @charpkun 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well, i disagree a bit. Terra is definitely the headliner, but Locke is the co-protag. But since his relationship with Celes is so integral to the story, it does make her a strong 3rd candidate. Nonetheless, i love all these characters and they represent how strong female protags can be developed, since neither Terra or Celes end up being subordinate to their male teammates.

      I do agree it is Terra (latin for earth) in the first half and Celes (as in celestial, the heavens or sky) in the second half. It may have been intended at periods during development to be Terra and Locke, the very common thief and white mage character pairing (even tho Terra uses both) that is used so often (my 2nd favorite is Sothe/Micaiah from Fire Emblem). But it ended up being Terra and Celes.

      i'd recommend the hacks known as brave new world and return of the dark sorceror if you like FF6 so much and want a fresh new twist on FF6, note they are hacks of the SNES version so no playing them at school so easily :P

      ooooh, time travel.......let's do this - at that time of history, i heard people talk about how genesis was just as good as snes, but to me, snes had square soft, and that's teh reason i went psx rather then n64, ff7 was coming to psx :)

    FF6 is one of my favorite games, of all time! I had over 300 hours on my old save log! I really wish that they'd create an updated reboot! Like they are/have with FF7!!!

      This game was the first time I heard real music (not old midi beeps) on a video game. It was mind blowing as a kid to see a game have real music, and that sound track is amazing. The devs really went all in on what the SNES could do.

      yup, FF6 is certainly my favorite of all time. I own the SNES version, the PS1, the GBA, the IOS and even kept on old android smart phone with the SNES version emulated on it. I hoped and prayed it would get a remake the way FF3 and 4 did on DS.
      REMAKE FF6

      Let's hope not. Nomura would just add more dementors and motorcycle throws and Terra would brick as hard as Aerith did at the end. The FF7 remake was awful.
