@@kiri3567 It does, but Chinese characters usually have multiple meaning, though different, the meanings usually revolve around a similar idea, 凶 means fierce, horrible, bad things, bad luck etc. It could also meant death, or haunted depending on the usage.

I borrowed this game from a friend when I was younger, and we were both obsessed with finding Vincent because he was in the game booklet. I don’t think either of us even realized Yuffie was optional as we both found her completely by accident and felt like it was part of the story when it happened. We were 12 years old when we first played it, and I’ve gotten a couple replays in over the years

We barely made it around the corner before we collapsed laughing
I'm glad they didn't go through with that ending idea, it sounded needlessly brutal and mean-spirited. The more ambiguous ending with Red XIII they went with fulfilled the same purpose, capping off the game's focus on life and death by pulling back to when all human life on the planet may or may not be gone.

Another fun fact about Kazushige Nojima. He previously worked on the Glory of Herakles serie, specifically the 3rd game, where crossdressing plays a rather important role. It's one of the major way our Hero solves most of the game's obstacles (the other being jumping from really high place. It's a pretty crazy game). (GoH III and IV are pretty good games, actually)
I didn't know any of these facts, and with FF7 not only being my first and absolute favorite in the series by far, that says a lot. I'm very impressed to still learn more from this masterpiece after so many years. Only makes my love, attachment and appreciation of this game grow even stronger. The OG was way more brutal. People actually died and the sector 7 catastrophe was way worse than in the remake where they are basically rebuilding it the day after, even finding a broken wooden sign that should be beneath an ocean of concrete, metal and dead bodies. The remake is very much light-hearted and chickens out on many things, most notably the trail of blood in the Shinra building. They say it was to get a lower CERO rating but it also undercut the theme and tension of the OG. While I understand the decision I would have been perfectly fine with seeing the fleeing people in sector 7 get crushed and seeing dead scientists in the Shinra building and wanted more destruction than in the original (more claw marks on the walls etc). As it is going now the Midgard Zolom is not going to be impaled (or at least no blood) and no people are going to die in Gold saucer and Aerith is not gonna...
I hope that the remake will have more story development for Yuffie and Vincent as it would be interesting to see what the original ideas were for these 2 before getting cut down.

I can honestly say I probably only knew tiny tidbits about what was in this video, and the rest of it was a surprise! Good work on digging all of this up!

I knew the Turtle Paradise posters had been repurposed but not what their original purpose was, so that was cool! Yeah, Vincent in particular ended up being a breakout character. So much so he got his own spin-off game (for better or for worse lol). Would have really been a shame if they had passed up on him. I do think his hidden ties to everything going on in the story, certainly make him one of the most interesting characters. He perhaps has the most reason to be invested in the overall plot than any character other than Cloud.
all of these fun easter eggs really pique more of my curiosity about how they plan to approach the next parts of the remake. i could totally see them having yuffie enter as she was originally planned to be.

My favorite is the Yuffie one. Imagine how many storylines they could have created with the bounty-hunter concept. While Yuffie is probably the funniest character, her storyline is the worst where she basically gets 10 lines and abandons you before you're back together

Cloud, Yuffie and Red tend to be my core team. If I could have Aerith, I'd go with Cloud, Yuffie and Aerith. While not "optimal" or whatever, I use characters I like instead of ones that are powerful.
Cloud Tifa and Barret since they are more important in the story. Its a RPG, and story matters alot more than beating the game only with characters that have broken limit breaks.

I wish SE gave FF9 as much attention and love as they do FF7. FF9 is the final fantasy I replayed the most, FF4 a close second. The most time I've played was FF11❤ though
1,2,5,6,8 and 9 should get as much love as 3, 4 and 7 did. the ff8 remaster is a joke, a PSP spin off got more love then most of the mainline games did.
3 & 4 got remakes on the DS. I was really hopeing they would give one to 6, Hands down my favorite. Edit: So 4 got a psp port/remake, it even has the after years.

@@KotCR Fair enough, SNES 4 isnt the best and (If Im right) DS 3 is the first time it got localized. I havent played og 3 but I have heard it not really holding up. (tbh, 3 is not my favorite, I have a hard time getting though it on DS) And SNES 6 still holds up really well, it was more just my personal favorite so personally I really wanted to see in 3d on the DS.

Honestly I cried when Aries was killed!, I was so invested in the game as a kid and I loved the experience but it broke me that part of the game. Having to fight A boos with tears in your eyes is something I’ll never forget.
Honestly, there is still alot of hints and alludes to this in the dialogue. I remember when we played the original back in the day, both me and my brother thought that that was were the story was going, or at least that Sephiroth too was an ancient. Obviously, what they actually went with in the end is alot more complicated hehe.
It's true that they were meant to be related. They were specifically designed to have the same bangs and same eye color as the physical tells that they were siblings. But did you know that when that idea was scrapped, then they had the thought to make Sephiroth Aerith's ex-boyfriend? However in the end after playing around with that idea they decided that Sephiroth and Aerith would only be enemies and then Zack was added to the roster-both him and Tifa being the final characters added to the game. :)
It sounds nice but I actually prefer them not to be related. It makes sephiroth killing aerith have a different feel. Brother killing powerfull special sister would have been just another cliche.imo

Ah. So this Turtle's Paradise, I assume, is what Remake calls "The Happy Turtle." Collecting posters was basically what the associated sidequest had you do in Intergrade as well.

Yuffie as an ex-soldier turned bounty hunter, and having the tenacity to actually go after Cloud and Sephiroth as her targets? That would've been WORLDS better than what we got. Always thought it was weird to have Yuffie as a date option anyway during Gold Saucer considering the girl's SIXTEEN, messing with a TWENTY-ONE year old man.
The game is Japanese. In Japan 13 is age of consent Edit: thought it was 15 that they become adults, but apparently it's 20 now (thanks google!) 13 is... well they're odd about some things.
It was nice to see a video do what it actually claimed. I would venture a guess that it would be a small portion of the fan base that knew all of this. As someone that is hardcore about the FF7 franchise (it is my favorite game of all time), I am truly glad that information like this is being put out there. Aerith and Sephiroth aren't siblings. Sephiroths parents are Professor Hojo, and Lucrecia. Aeriths parents are Professor Ghast, and Ilfana. Sephiroth thought he was a Cetra because Shinra did research on Jenova and thought she was a Cetra. Shinra was wrong about Jenova being a Cetra though. The truth is that Jenova was an alien, the great calamity that fell from the sky that created the Northern Crater.
@@randalthor2859 There are so many people that get this wrong, especially since the release of FF VII remake. Many people think that when Sephiroth says he is a Cetra he was correct despite the game was most likely showing this to make us see the mad part about him. I do not know how many people that never realized that Sephiroth was drawing the wrong conclusion (about Jenova and basically himself) in the base game but I thought it was kinda obvious even back then.
The ending fact is actually quite interesting. For example they could kill the two characters who were not pocked in any of the two teams made for the second face. Especially now with the remake.
Did anyone notice that Bugenhagen says "Eventually... All humans die." This is almost a direct quote that Aerith in the remake uses when looking at the Lifestream energy from everyone who died in the plate fall. She says "Everyone dies eventually."
As someone with a username referencing one of the most obscure things in FFVII, I appreciated this video a lot. In terms of trivia FFVII is loaded to the brim with them. And it's not possibly the greatest game of all time, it is the greatest game of all time... At least in my opinion :p

I'd love to see some of these ideas applied to the remake maybe as secret endings or maybe a perfect ending where everyone lives including Aerith

A few weeks ago, I learned Cait Sith is pronounced Ket Shee from Scottish Gaelic meaning fairy cat.
Makes me wonder how they'll pronounce it in the Remake when we encounter the little mechanical feline.
My favorite is the Yuffie one. Imagine how many storylines they could have created with the bounty-hunter concept. While Yuffie is probably the funniest character, her storyline is the worst where she basically gets 10 lines and abandons you before you're back together

Cloud, Yuffie and Red tend to be my core team. If I could have Aerith, I'd go with Cloud, Yuffie and Aerith. While not "optimal" or whatever, I use characters I like instead of ones that are powerful.
Cloud, Red and Vincent.
Cloud Tifa and Barret since they are more important in the story.
Its a RPG, and story matters alot more than beating the game only with characters that have broken limit breaks.
Storywise: Cloud, Tifa & Barret as the story starts with them, the original avalanche crew.
Tactically: Cloud, Barret & Nanaki/Cid

@mark burke No it means Moomba's are reminiscent to Red13 whether based off of Red13 or Red13 being a moomba himself it all coincides its not farfetched either Ronso race from FFX are playable classes and inhabinants of the univers of FF14 the mmo Shadow bringer dlc was there debut and the classes is Final Fantasy tactics advanced were in many ways in Final Fantasy 12 , FF8 is just notorious for being a forgotten title never got FF7 treatment or the FF4 treatment with remasteers and sequels
in the sense of devolopment for FF9 was in the works before FF8 and FF8's original database was lost in translation due to recklessness thats why FF8 took so long to get a Remaster so its obvious Square let the moomba race fall into the shadows as they have not been a playable class in any future installment.

Potential? If more characters died based on my choice I would have quit the game and refused to play farther. Aerith and Zack dying is bad enough.

FF9 is the final fantasy I replayed the most, FF4 a close second. The most time I've played was FF11❤ though
1,2,5,6,8 and 9 should get as much love as 3, 4 and 7 did. the ff8 remaster is a joke, a PSP spin off got more love then most of the mainline games did.

3 & 4 got remakes on the DS. I was really hopeing they would give one to 6, Hands down my favorite.

@@toastbread7192 I think this was a case of them needing remakes the most at the time. Well, certainly in 3s case anyway. Too many of the original gameplay systems in it were too antiquated and cumbersome. Though classic 4 aged a bit better than classic 3.
@@KotCR Fair enough, SNES 4 isnt the best and (If Im right) DS 3 is the first time it got localized. I havent played og 3 but I have heard it not really holding up. (tbh, 3 is not my favorite, I have a hard time getting though it on DS) And SNES 6 still holds up really well, it was more just my personal favorite so personally I really wanted to see in 3d on the DS.

Honestly I cried when Aries was killed!, I was so invested in the game as a kid and I loved the experience but it broke me that part of the game. Having to fight A boos with tears in your eyes is something I’ll never forget.

Honestly, there is still alot of hints and alludes to this in the dialogue. I remember when we played the original back in the day, both me and my brother thought that that was were the story was going, or at least that Sephiroth too was an ancient. Obviously, what they actually went with in the end is alot more complicated hehe.
Aerith does have a somewhat similar hairstyle to Sephiroth if you compare both of them from a front view.
It's true that they were meant to be related. They were specifically designed to have the same bangs and same eye color as the physical tells that they were siblings. But did you know that when that idea was scrapped, then they had the thought to make Sephiroth Aerith's ex-boyfriend? However in the end after playing around with that idea they decided that Sephiroth and Aerith would only be enemies and then Zack was added to the roster-both him and Tifa being the final characters added to the game. :)
It sounds nice but I actually prefer them not to be related. It makes sephiroth killing aerith have a different feel.

Yuffie as an ex-soldier turned bounty hunter, and having the tenacity to actually go after Cloud and Sephiroth as her targets? That would've been WORLDS better than what we got. Always thought it was weird to have Yuffie as a date option anyway during Gold Saucer considering the girl's SIXTEEN, messing with a TWENTY-ONE year old man.

Watching this after the remake makes me appreciate it more.
It was nice to see a video do what it actually claimed. I would venture a guess that it would be a small portion of the fan base that knew all of this. As someone that is hardcore about the FF7 franchise (it is my favorite game of all time), I am truly glad that information like this is being put out there. Usually when I run across these videos it is some lame video about stuff people have known about for years.

Final fantasy 7 1/2 life are my two favorite games of all time it’s funny that don’t go on and on and on many games come out but these two still reigns supreme

Aerith and Sephiroth aren't siblings.
Sephiroths parents are Professor Hojo, and Lucrecia.
Aeriths parents are Professor Ghast, and Ilfana.
Sephiroth thought he was a Cetra because Shinra did research on Jenova and thought she was a Cetra. Shinra was wrong about Jenova being a Cetra though. The truth is that Jenova was an alien, the great calamity that fell from the sky that created the Northern Crater.
@@randalthor2859 There are so many people that get this wrong, especially since the release of FF VII remake. Many people think that when Sephiroth says he is a Cetra he was correct despite the game was most likely showing this to make us see the mad part about him. I do not know how many people that never realized that Sephiroth was drawing the wrong conclusion (about Jenova and basically himself) in the base game but I thought it was kinda obvious even back then.

The ending fact is actually quite interesting. For example they could kill the two characters who were not pocked in any of the two teams made for the second face. Especially now with the remake.
Shinra was a metaphor for Nintendo. Supposedly it was such a slight, Nintendo's relationship with square has been oblirated to THIS DAY.
I found a fact you may not know, Nibelheim was once Mist of Final Fantasy 4 where Rydia comes from, it is talked about in world of Final Fantasy
Did anyone notice that Bugenhagen says "Eventually... All humans die." This is almost a direct quote that Aerith in the remake uses when looking at the Lifestream energy from everyone who died in the plate fall. She says "Everyone dies eventually."

As someone with a username referencing one of the most obscure things in FFVII, I appreciated this video a lot. In terms of trivia FFVII is loaded to the brim with them. And it's not possibly the greatest game of all time, it is the greatest game of all time... At least in my opinion :p

@@JL-nb1yc The reference for my name is... to the vehicle the group uses to escape Midgar in the original game XD It is a very obscure fact, if you watch the video of the vehicles in the Shinra showroom it displays the name, which is taken from the prototype suspension found in said vehicle! It's almost as obscure as the trivia "YA-79"

I read somewhere that ff7 was going to be a Nintendo 64 game but the cartridge couldn't handle the capacity of memory it would require. Also parasite eve and Chrono cross were actually scraped ideas from ff7.
