The Silver hair isn't really surprising but yellow eyes, no one in Spira has yellow eyes as far as I know, hell only Lulu and Paine seem to be the only two with red eyes. Hi FF Union! thx for this great video ! I HIGHLY recommend to also check out this video right here about further hidden Secrets in FF X .... enjoy th-cam.com/video/hdZ_Wq8_-XQ/w-d-xo.html
If you like it you should check out the music in the Ace Combat series. The best track is in my opinion "Zero" but also "Agnus Dei" "Daredevil" "archange" Seriously you wont regret it these tracks will make you want to fight against the entire planet by yourself. Im a sucker for any music with Latin vocals.
FFX certainly does have some great music. I think FFVIII has better music overall though. There's quite a few tracks in FFX where there's just not much going on, or the tracks are way too short.
As much as I love FFX very dearly, I still think FFXV has the best music in the series. Well, maybe because I like the musics that involves violin and piano since the soundtracks is full of these 2 instruments. As for FFX, Via Purifico is the best musics in the game.
Poiblazer yeah but I think they want it in the ff series. But ff7 remake is making it turn base and action. If they perfect that, then the game will have both battle systems everyone wants
I love it too but I think X-2 improved on it. It was basically the same but with more urgency. It made you feel pressured as you had to work fast and think ahead to your next moves. You couldnt just think about your moves for 10 minutes. You had to work on the fly and the speed stat played a much more important role. Comebine that with one of the best class systems in the series and the garment grids and you have one of the best JRPG combat systems ever made.
@@TexasGreed X-2 was really just a revamp of the ATB system that was first introduced in FF4 on the SNES. FFX had a more complex turn base system than many people gave it credit for that meant you really had to prioritize strategy (unless you grinded some levels).
I'm glad Auron remained a separate character from Jecht. Older characters who serve as surrogates and mentors are interesting archetypes I personally like seeing in media, especially JRPGs. Badass characters are almost always depicted as gruff or independent, but fatherly or motherly figures with pasts outside of the plot come across as stronger and far more relatable to me. Auron's arc in particular resonates with me; his sudden outburst when he confronts Yunalesca for the second time hits hard. The fact that Auron honors his word to Braska and Jecht out of brotherhood and self-accountability rather than blood relation makes Auron's character who he is, in addition to his excellent voice actor and writing. Aside from Matt McKenzie, Hedy Burress and JAT make this game for me. Wouldn't be the same without Hedy's giggle or Tidus's ponderous monologues.
Back in high school I had a friend staying over and I decided to tackle the lightning bolts, he took a calculator and did 1+1 then =. Every time he pressed = again it would +1. I just kept dodging while he kept track, I didn't want to know how many I'd dodged or how many I had left to go. Eventually I got struck, and before he would tell me he said we should step outside so as to not wake my parents. 191..9 short. This number has haunted me since, I see it everywhere despite eventually getting 200 like.. A couple years later. Day I graduated gas was 1.91 a gallon for example.
Offhand observation here, but man... that shot at the end of the video of Tidus in the water looking up with the grin on his face is still really striking! No wonder they used it as the game cover (at least in the U.S.). All the color blue and the ruins in the background is just a really, really beautiful shot. Huge FFX fan so coming in I had a very jaded outlook of "Oh, boy, let's see what 'facts' they're gonna have that I supposedly won't know...." and will say that wow, ya'll definitely surprised me. Great video!
Unfortunately, it seems ATB and turn based will be relagated to only spinoffs now. Square seems to be moving towards action only for the main series. We'll see when XVI comes out, but i will assume that one will be action as well. Here's hoping they surprise us.
Till this day, I'll never understand why they scraped Cloud's buster sword in FFX! THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWESOME! They should have included it in the HD Remasters! Great list, Darryl!
You can actually get Cloud and his Buster Sword in Tactics. Been playing that game off and on for over 15 years and I JUST learned about it last month. Lol.
@@jamiecranton Eh, he has his uses. Give him Short Charge and spam some of his faster statusy limits and he can wreak havoc~ Still, it is a long way to go compared to characters that are awesome by default like Agrias, Orlandeu, and Reis~
Without a doubt the best Things You Didn't Know about FFX video out there. As a man that FFX provided an escape from a troubled upbringing, thank you for showing me that there are still things to unravel about this game almost 20 years later. Can't tell you how much this game means to me.
FFX is one of those wonder games that are not only truly ahead of its time but that everyone should play. I wish Square Enix had the balls to deliver another timeless game like this and FF 12 :\
This game was brilliant Second after my fav ff7 Fast paced Easy switching in and out of battle Character development is you know what to do Just amazing you can just focus on what type of player focus skills if desired Just amazing
The decision to cast Lena Headey and Sean Bean in Kingsglaive was a strange one in my opinion. It wasn't so much the casting themselves, it was the fact that they only did it for the film and not for the game, which made it a pretty jarring transition.
It’s amazing to think that twenty years ago FF IX And X were developed at the same time and now, Square Enix along with many other companies will only develop one game at a time
I like how you do genuinely give facts that most people, even hardcore fans, would likely not know. Most stuff like this is clickbait like " i bet you didn't know that Tidus is actually a dream".
Interesting video :) Some other facts people may not know, related to FFX: 1) Uematsu had originally written "To Zanarkand" for a flutist friend of his, but they said it was "too gloomy". He used it in the game instead. 2) A popular Hong Kong artist (Sammi Cheng) copied Rikku's look in one of her music videos, "wonder woman". The fact that we are still talking about this masterpiece 20 years later proves how good of a game it really is.
Man. 4 minutes in I don’t know if I can watch this video. This game was such a huge part of my childhood I’ve probably beating it 6 times and at one point defeated dark shiva
I've played this game since its release on ps2 and still can't bring myself to beat it before I restart...I don't want ff10 to ever end I guess. Best final fantasy with the most gripping story, amazing soundtrack and emotional cutscenes imo.. love it forever
As a westerner, I always felt having Kimahri assined with saturn is because he is an outcast, like saturn gets cast asside and banned by Rhea after Zeus won against him (and also because his horn is broken and saturn gets robbed of his manhood, so ...) and Wakka is assigned to Iuppiter because he is the member in the group who protects his religious believes the most, like Iuppiter protects the cities with the biggest/most temples in ancient greece and rome. So in a way, I found it fiting.
Was my first FF game and still the best one for me.. i mean 7,9 and 12 are really good games but ffx .. the Story.. the Feelings.. the Emotions HOLY ffx is perfect
It's funny I see this a week after starting ffx again for the 6th time in 4 years! I have never played a game that captivated me so much, especially the first ever time I played it in 2005!
Man, I felt hecka bad. I just got married and i was cleaning out my old stuff with my wife who just moved in and we were storing and throwing away old games and discs. Ps1,2,3,4,xbox and pretty much all my old games from different gaming systems. I threw away a lot and stored a few. But I exclusively separated my Final fantasy X apart from everything else. I was keeping that one on display in my living room. It got late so I went to sleep and the next morning I noticed she threw away the old and I didn't mind....until i couldn't find my FFX! I looked in the storage, the trash and all over my room. She was sleeping and I woke her up in panic, "Were did you put my FFX game?!" She looked scared and got up to say " You left it outside by the door". I went and got it and I stared at it... Man this game meat so much to me that I almost raised my voice at my wife, I felt ashamed of myself. It hurt a lot but I just stored it away and I apologized to my wife. I never mentioned to her before how much this game meant to me. I'm a gamer at heart and I love the final fantasy franchise and I'll always love FFX but it's time to grow up and be a husband now.
Great video! Love that you actually did research and gave lesser known facts rather than all the mainstream ones! Can't get over your pronunciation of Tidus, sadly xD
I think it's a great decision that Square decided not to use celebrity actors for voice acting. FFX had many flaws as a first attempt, but in their next attempt in FFXII, it was phenomenal. Also, despite we making fun of "Tidus laugh", at least we associated that with the character so well that it is Tidus, not some random Hollywood star, that we remember today. People are already referring to Death Stranding characters by the actors' names rather than character names. Had that happened with Final Fantasy characters, it would have been catastrophic of the series.
Here is one most of you don't know. Final Fantasy 7 is a confirmed sequel to X and X-2. It takes place 1000 years after shinra successfully uses vegnagun to extract mako energy from the farplane with Rins financial compensation. The buster sword you see in 10 isn't clouds, it's the original bustersword and it's different from clouds slightly for a reason. They chose for some reason to remove it on release and it was never explained why. The interview: ―Is there a connection, for example, with Shinra’s name, which of course reminds one of FFVII? The “last mission” line and Rin’s “I am not alone in my thinking” line from “Detective Rin” have strong implications. Nojima: “As a matter of fact, yes. Shinra quits the Gullwings, receives enormous financial assistance from Rin and uses Vegnagun to extract mako energy from the Farplane. However, he can’t complete the system to utilize the energy in a single generation, and the Shin-Ra Company is built on another planet in the future once travel to distant planets is possible, and stuff like that … Those things happen about 1000 years after this story, though.” ―So the story of FFVII is after that? Nojima: “I guess you could say those are the feelings I have about it. When I think about the characters, those are the images I already see. Shinra is a good kid, and yet his descendants are going to be like the President. (laughs)” Watanabe: “Speaking of VII, after being told about the Shinra scenario, one of the staff members said he arranged the camera work for the first time you see the Bevelle Underground to ‘feel like something you’ve seen before.'” Toriyama: “That’s right, it looks like the opening shot of Midgar in FFVII.”
11:52 Tidus uses all of his swords backwards. It has nothing to do with Crisis Core. It's to show his relative inexperience with using weapons, since most of his swords have a double edge but the second edge only stretching 1/3 of the way down the sword.
If there ever is going to be a FFX-3, I hope SE hires Ember Lab (Kena: Bridge of Spirits). Their work with visuals, soundtrack and expertise would certainly add to the game's world (South Asian/Bali/Indonesian influences, as well as the two games' themes of death).
Love ur inference... brought my understanding of the celestial systems to another level... man i didnt know the soundtrack were subtle hints until u mention "...dream will end...." ok.. subscribed!!
I enjoyed the video very much. My first ever FF was Final Fantasy Tactics on PS1, but I played it with an emulator due to PS1 being still almost as expensive as PS2 back then. But then I bought PS2 and Played FFX2 and FFXII. So FFX is still the most FF I found interesting. Especially when I played X2 first then X, the personality gaps of Yuna was very interesting stuff to experience
I love this game, but James Arnold Taylor *really* needed to redo some of his lines. Some of those line reads are so amateur it takes me out of it every time. I'm not talking about the laughing scene, either. That scene is great. I'm talking about when they arrive at Zanarkand upon reaching the summit of Mount Gagazet. Auron's utterly iconic scene with Wakka and Tidus on the summit (which Matt Mckenzie really shines in) is immediately followed up by the next scene starting with JAT's read of "a city dead for a thousand years." It's like you can hear a record screech to a stop. That moment is somber and well-scripted, too, but it feels like they rushed the take and it's a damn shame. Still love the game, though. :) Always will.

Huge FFX fan so coming in I had a very jaded outlook of "Oh, boy, let's see what 'facts' they're gonna have that I supposedly won't know...." and will say that wow, ya'll definitely surprised me. Great video!
Really wish FF would go back to ATB or Turn Based someday
I mean ATB wasn't bad in ff 13 I'd would have loved to be able to position my characters tho.
I pray to this every day since FFX2 XD
It will never happen
@@Monstermash355 unfortunately modern players adhd won't allow it
Unfortunately, it seems ATB and turn based will be relagated to only spinoffs now.
Lol.
@@zeropolicy7456 it's a shame he's one of the worst units in the game though
@@jamiecranton Eh, he has his uses. Give him Short Charge and spam some of his faster statusy limits and he can wreak havoc~ Still, it is a long way to go compared to characters that are awesome by default like Agrias, Orlandeu, and Reis~
Not needed! The BROTHERHOOD is the coolest sword ever! Get it? Get it?
...because it has water inside it😳😳
@@GamingWithAce85 There's ice swords in the game...
Without a doubt the best Things You Didn't Know about FFX video out there. As a man that FFX provided an escape from a troubled upbringing, thank you for showing me that there are still things to unravel about this game almost 20 years later. Can't tell you how much this game means to me.
Every time I watch these I think I'll know at least 50% of the facts... Always pleasantly surprised! Love how much research you guys do.
FFX is one of those wonder games that are not only truly ahead of its time but that everyone should play. I wish Square Enix had the balls to deliver another timeless game like this and FF 12 :\
This channel is what actually convinced me to fully jump into the final fantasy series after only playing 7 remake and 15
This is probably one of the only facts videos that I've watched where I legitimately did not know most of the info provided! Thank you.
I loved this episode. You guys should do an episode on X-2
This game was brilliant
Second after my fav ff7
Fast paced
Easy switching in and out of battle
Character development is you know what to do
Just amazing you can just focus on what type of player focus skills if desired
Just amazing
Still one of my favorite games of all time!!! Top 5 forever!
These videos are always so well done; thank you!
You're most welcome YamaAgni! Glad you enjoyed :)
I see what you did there.
Gotta make sure those key search words are there in the title: Final, Fantasy, 7
12 year old me learned things about my body because of Lulu.
haha for me it was Riku, granted all the female characters were HOT when I got the game when i was a kid.
Rikku took off her jumpsuit near the shoopuff area...that ass shot
🤣
@@infinitejustice86 just remember, she's 15... Art for art's sake can always be appreciated. But... 15 is kinda young.
@@mattsully2238 when cartoons/animation have to be 18 lol
The decision to cast Lena Headey and Sean Bean in Kingsglaive was a strange one in my opinion. It wasn't so much the casting themselves, it was the fact that they only did it for the film and not for the game, which made it a pretty jarring transition.
I remember Final Fantasy X and X-2 received the most cosplay out of all the final fantasy's
It’s amazing to think that twenty years ago FF IX And X were developed at the same time and now, Square Enix along with many other companies will only develop one game at a time
i just love this masterpiece 😍♥️
That FFX ending theme when Yuna sacrificed the aeons... All the aeons vanishing.... This was to me more sad than the Tidus scene
This was really well done, I was expecting 6 generic facts and maybe one I didn't know, but you dug deep and got some good ones. Nice job.
I remember playing this for the 1st time an just thinking wow this is a technical achievement that a home console is producing and not a pc
2:50 I just realized that everyone in this game wears a necklace. Siggghhh I love this game :3
We need MORE FF X / X-2 info!!!!! But thanks for doing the research on this! Loved the bit with the voice actors towards the end!
Bought this game for Ps2, Ps3, Ps4 and Nintendo Switch. Basically, I love this game.
Time to get the PC edition it seems, get on it!
I like how you do genuinely give facts that most people, even hardcore fans, would likely not know. Most stuff like this is clickbait like " i bet you didn't know that Tidus is actually a dream".
Interesting video :)
Some other facts people may not know, related to FFX:
1) Uematsu had originally written "To Zanarkand" for a flutist friend of his, but they said it was "too gloomy". He used it in the game instead.
2) A popular Hong Kong artist (Sammi Cheng) copied Rikku's look in one of her music videos, "wonder woman".
The fact that we are still talking about this masterpiece 20 years later proves how good of a game it really is.
clicked the video with a laugh and a "try me" but you didn't disappoint, nice work
“Far too ambitious”...
*FFXII pops up on the screen*
FFX is my favorite. Thanks for this.
IF YOU HAVENT DONE X-2 PLEASE DO SO! I LOVE THIS CONTENT.
Ty for coming to my TEDtalk.
FFX is probably my favorite FF game alongside 7. But I still haven't finished FFX-2. 😂
Was my first FF game and still the best one for me.. i mean 7,9 and 12 are really good games but ffx .. the Story.. the Feelings.. the Emotions HOLY ffx is perfect
This will always be my favorite game ever
Hey, just because you got married shouldn’t mean you should throw away the things you loved before. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
FFX is the greatest final fantasy title in the modern era.
hands down.
Great video! Love that you actually did research and gave lesser known facts rather than all the mainstream ones! Can't get over your pronunciation of Tidus, sadly xD
I loved the bit about the voice actors, the characters are bigger than the voices of those characters
God this game truly awoken the artist in me. Ffx is beautiful in every way
That old demo trailer that was running on way more powerful hardware that looks wicked good
I think it's a great decision that Square decided not to use celebrity actors for voice acting.
The one that blew my mind the most was the John DiMaggio one. That was something I wish I've always known!
Dope video. I have played this game a ton and was surprised at how much of this video I truly didn't know!!
The interview:
―Is there a connection, for example, with Shinra’s name, which of course reminds one of FFVII? The “last mission” line and Rin’s “I am not alone in my thinking” line from “Detective Rin” have strong implications. Nojima: “As a matter of fact, yes. Shinra quits the Gullwings, receives enormous financial assistance from Rin and uses Vegnagun to extract mako energy from the Farplane. However, he can’t complete the system to utilize the energy in a single generation, and the Shin-Ra Company is built on another planet in the future once travel to distant planets is possible, and stuff like that … Those things happen about 1000 years after this story, though.”
―So the story of FFVII is after that?
Such a wise decision about the voice acting, I couldn't agree more. Great video.
The music in this game will stay with me forever
Thank you for this insightful video, this is my favorite FF of all time. This game brings back memories of my teen years.
this game was my introduction the the ff series when i was 19. been hooked ever since
Love ur inference... brought my understanding of the celestial systems to another level... man i didnt know the soundtrack were subtle hints until u mention "...dream will end...." ok.. subscribed!!
Not gunna lie, I love that little nod to the god-tier NIN/DNC in the FFXI snippet.
I didn't know any of these things. Usually these sort of videos don't tell me anything new. Thanks it's nice not being click baited.
James Arnold Taylor:Voice actor of Tidus.
Me:So he's also Johnny Test and Ratchet? That's amazing!
Sup brits it’s Kevin hope y’all had a nice thanksgiving keep doing great things you’re living the dream across the pond. Love yall
great research man, i thought i knew almost everything i could about ffx but i didn't know any of these!!
Usually these videos are filled with really common facts but this video had stuff I had never heard before
"Victory poses have been used to add a bit more personality to the characters" 6:44
Great video. I will always come back for more FFX content.
I feel so relaxed watching your videos
James Arnold Taylor, Cree Summer and Tara Strong would also come back together as part of the voice acting cast of Drawn Together.
FFX for life. I’ll have another play through in 10 years again
Ok, I really never knew these facts about X. Goes to show what a deep game it is.
