I don't think it distorts it too much. The best use for the edge is the always on display in my opinion. When the phone is locked you have the date/time on the edge and it looks good. Yeah, edge screens are more prone to accidental touch and damage. Not to mention it's more pricey to repair. But you do lose the QHD+ resolution though. And that extra 2 gbs of ram might come in handy in the next 2 or more years. Tough choice, man.
I agree the pricing of iphone extremely high . But the price hike in india is due to import taxes which they ( apple ) had to pay . Meanwhile samsung manufacture their phone in india therefore the price is same .

The thing about the s10 is you will get updates years late, have annoying blast ware, awful Samsung skins, and a laggy phone over time. Apple phones get updates instantly, no bloatware, and rarely lag.

3030 Win depends on your viewpoint, curved screens suck, screen protectors never work properly. Lower resolution = more battery life and more FPS in games. Smaller phone better for some, Ultrasonic FP reader is something ppl think they want and I don’t think it’s that amazing tbh, it’s slower than optical and the s10e has an optical one mounted on power button where your thumb will be.

I'm right there with you. I've been using this S7 for almost two and a half years, and I think it's high time to make the jump to the next phone. Being a power user that is almost always having to charge his phone by 4PM, I don't quite think the S10e is my game. I'm still a little stuck on whether to go for the S10 or the S10+ though. I like the larger screen and battery of the Plus model, but I'm wondering if it might be a little much. The S10 display at 6.1 inches is already going to be fairly large compared to my S7's 5.1 inch panel. I'm reserving judgement to see a few more reviews before I drop the cash though.

I'm still split on the larger screen and battery though, but if I have to have the pill cutout instead of the holepunch that might take away from having the larger screen anyway. We'll see.

I heard rumors that Note 10 will start removing the headphone jack. I'll embrace removing the jack if Wireless Headphone companies utilize USB-C for charging, Bluetooth 5.0 (every headphones use 4.2 so it's disappointing), contains all the features and iP68 for the sweatiest of ears.
I've got a feeling its gonna be gone as much as I love my note 9 and would love the note 10 but they've released bluetooth "earbuds" so I have a feeling they will go.

It makes sense that Apple put its highest battery in the LCD phone because LCD generally takes up more battery because even when a color on the screen is black, the entire screen is turned on as opposed to OLED screens where they can just turn off each pixel. Also the IPhone XR is bigger than the galaxy s10e. Honestly, I would prefer a galaxy s10e over an iPhone XS.

When the s10 series launched here, i picked the s10e first and I was really amazed how it was small while it has a big screen. And I was thinking that this is the best andriod phone so far that feels really good in the hand. The iphone 5 chassis was the best phone I've hold in a smartphone before. I never liked the fact right now that most of new phone are getting tallb and getting harder to reach at the top to bringdown notification tab, the s10e is just a perfect phone even if it has a large screen. If samsung didn't think about the s10e. i wouldn't by their galaxy s series at all.
ive had my s7 edge for a couple years and it's fine, i just dont like it because my small hands always accidentally touch the edge screen when im using it
I prefer the $550-$750 price range. I usually keep a phone for 2-3 years and don't really want a beater, but I also don't want to buy a Mercedes for really no good reason. I like the Lexus/Toyota Avalon range; still plenty of car, and it doesn't feel like you're overpaying for the badge.

I totally agree with you. Especially with expensive purchases, I use the thing until it breaks. That's what I did with my iphone 5s, which I have just retired after 6 years of use and now I switched to the s10e, which I hope to use for a long time as well. Phone and car companies are doing the same thing. As soon as you pay off the old one, you get a letter saying "Hey! trade up and get the newer model even though nothing is really different but Keep Giving Us Money!"

The S10e is just 0,4 cm taller than the iPhone 7 (they basically have the same width) and it has a 5.8 inch display while the iphone 7 has 4.7. Apple is definitely having a strong negative trend. Many loyal Apple customers are considering a switch to Samsung right now. And that is because Apple have become more customer hostile. Not even honouring its guarantees. My lightning cable broke after 8 months and Apple is accusing me of wrong handling. Not replacing it. The truth is that they make low quality and overpriced products which they do not acknowledge. If your Iphone would break then they would say that you have dropped it on the ground and that is your fault. The new Galaxy 10 is a great product and after 10 years with Iphone my next phone will NOT be a Iphone. The customer friendly approach isn't there anymore. I do NOT recommend anyone buying Iphone because Apple is NOT an honest Company.

Hey Lew, I hope you read my below opinion loud on your next Video: I don't fully agree with you that the S10e is less premium than the S10 or S10+. and I like David opinion. To be very honest, I can afford buying the S10+ 1TB, BUT I"ll go for the "S10e". In my opinion this is "The most practical phone in the market". Let me explain: I love the Note series (Note phones made me buy "Samsung" brand) and if I'll get a phone of the size of S10+, I'd rather go get it with it's amazing functional S-pen (either the Note 9 or wait for the Note 10). But, I'm tired of carrying around that big beast in my hand all the time. I need my 2 hands to do many simple daily things like carry my bag and open the house door without the need to open the bag, put the phone, and open the door then take back the phone from the bag :D In my day to day activities, I see the benefit of small size phone more and more. Think of it when you are carrying your laptop and going to a meeting and need to call someone in 2 min before you step in the meeting room. A small one handed phone will do that, but a big one will stop you because you cannot carry your laptop while using your 2 hand for making the call. Also the fingerprint, the ultra sonic finger print sensor under the screen looks fancy and I like it. But, don't you think that the finger print on the power bottom is a quick practical solution? with one press, you open the phone and unlock it at the same time. Thank's god, my finger no longer need to search for the finger print reader on the back of the phone. and I don't even need to move my finger to thumbprint the screen while unlocking the phone. I searched a lot to find AMOLED display, high processor/ram, with good camera in a compact size and there was a big gap in the market. I am really glad that they offered a small pocket and hand friendly phone with flagship specs and amazing practical solutions so it will be fast and practical. I would consider the "e" letter standing for "ergonomic" or "essential" (not economy), and if I will name that phone, I'll call it S10p for "Practical" or "Performance" :)
Finally someone who understands, also lower resolution on screen (still over 400 PPI) means better performance in games and applications because it has the same processor except it’s moving less pixels, optical sensor is faster than ultrasonic and with optical being on power button where your thumb is seems practical. Flat screen is a god send for someone who likes having screen protectors (tempered glass) because I accidentally put keys in same pocket as phone and that equals a lot of scratches. Also s10 ships with cheap plastic one because tempered ones can interfere with ultrasonic sensor. The only way I see this phone as inferior is the slight very slightly bigger bezels.
@@deleted6052 The OnePlus 6T starts at $549 last time I checked, which isn't very far from the starting price of the S10E, not to mention OnePlus has made some compromises to the 6T to attain that price point like no IP certification, no headphone jack, and a 1080p-ish display. Those aren't necessarily knocks against the phone itself but are still important considerations to look at
749 is a good price for a small device. Because there arent many very good high end small devices :) The other one is the iphone xs and everyone knows those prices.
@@deleted6052 Might've been bad wording on my part, I did say 1080p-ish but mostly to address the fact that the 6T, like a lot of high end phones nowadays don't use a typical 16:9 aspect ratio, which contributed to me saying that it's 1080p-ish. I'm well aware that the display is basically 1080p. As for $500 being cheaper than $750, it depends on the person. Also helps that at least in the US, the 6T as well as most other flagships are more likely than not purchased via a payment plan so pricing won't matter and people will happily spring for the higher priced item. A $750 phone isn't what common folk would consider expensive if all they have to do is set up an EIP plan and pay basically $30-40 per month. I'm not saying that's better than paying upfront but it IS an option to consider.

I heard that this was probably the last year of the headphone jack
I heard rumors that Note 10 will start removing the headphone jack. I'll embrace removing the jack if Wireless Headphone companies utilize USB-C for charging, Bluetooth 5.0 (every headphones use 4.2 so it's disappointing), contains all the features and iP68 for the sweatiest of ears.
I think its coming out in August
I've got a feeling its gonna be gone as much as I love my note 9 and would love the note 10 but they've released bluetooth "earbuds" so I have a feeling they will go.

It makes sense that Apple put its highest battery in the LCD phone because LCD generally takes up more battery because even when a color on the screen is black, the entire screen is turned on as opposed to OLED screens where they can just turn off each pixel. Also the IPhone XR is bigger than the galaxy s10e. Honestly, I would prefer a galaxy s10e over an iPhone XS.

That is the best question in my opinion. People are spending crazy amount of money just to keep track on what is on trend when it comes to smartphones. But in reality it doesn’t really changed anything. You text and call the same, use google, watch movies, play games, use TH-cam and Facebook or etc. it’s all in the head.
This is why I spend money wisely. And when I mean wisely I spend money on things that I actually need in life and does changed something in my life.
I only buy a new phone if mine is dying ie can't always send or receive texts/calls/voice mail

When the s10 series launched here, i picked the s10e first and I was really amazed how it was small while it has a big screen. And I was thinking that this is the best andriod phone so far that feels really good in the hand. The iphone 5 chassis was the best phone I've hold in a smartphone before. I never liked the fact right now that most of new phone are getting tallb and getting harder to reach at the top to bringdown notification tab, the s10e is just a perfect phone even if it has a large screen. If samsung didn't think about the s10e. i wouldn't by their galaxy s series at all.

I totally agree with you. Especially with expensive purchases, I use the thing until it breaks. That's what I did with my iphone 5s, which I have just retired after 6 years of use and now I switched to the s10e, which I hope to use for a long time as well.
Phone and car companies are doing the same thing. As soon as you pay off the old one, you get a letter saying "Hey! trade up and get the newer model even though nothing is really different but Keep Giving Us Money!"

Apple is definitely having a strong negative trend. Many loyal Apple customers are considering a switch to Samsung right now. And that is because Apple have become more customer hostile. Not even honouring its guarantees. My lightning cable broke after 8 months and Apple is accusing me of wrong handling. Not replacing it. The truth is that they make low quality and overpriced products which they do not acknowledge. If your Iphone would break then they would say that you have dropped it on the ground and that is your fault. The new Galaxy 10 is a great product and after 10 years with Iphone my next phone will NOT be a Iphone. The customer friendly approach isn't there anymore. I do NOT recommend anyone buying Iphone because Apple is NOT an honest Company.

I don't fully agree with you that the S10e is less premium than the S10 or S10+. and I like David opinion. To be very honest, I can afford buying the S10+ 1TB, BUT I"ll go for the "S10e".
In my opinion this is "The most practical phone in the market".
Let me explain:
I love the Note series (Note phones made me buy "Samsung" brand) and if I'll get a phone of the size of S10+, I'd rather go get it with it's amazing functional S-pen (either the Note 9 or wait for the Note 10). But, I'm tired of carrying around that big beast in my hand all the time. I need my 2 hands to do many simple daily things like carry my bag and open the house door without the need to open the bag, put the phone, and open the door then take back the phone from the bag :D
In my day to day activities, I see the benefit of small size phone more and more. Think of it when you are carrying your laptop and going to a meeting and need to call someone in 2 min before you step in the meeting room. A small one handed phone will do that, but a big one will stop you because you cannot carry your laptop while using your 2 hand for making the call.
Also the fingerprint, the ultra sonic finger print sensor under the screen looks fancy and I like it. But, don't you think that the finger print on the power bottom is a quick practical solution? with one press, you open the phone and unlock it at the same time. Thank's god, my finger no longer need to search for the finger print reader on the back of the phone. and I don't even need to move my finger to thumbprint the screen while unlocking the phone.
I searched a lot to find AMOLED display, high processor/ram, with good camera in a compact size and there was a big gap in the market.
I am really glad that they offered a small pocket and hand friendly phone with flagship specs and amazing practical solutions so it will be fast and practical.
I would consider the "e" letter standing for "ergonomic" or "essential" (not economy), and if I will name that phone, I'll call it S10p for "Practical" or "Performance" :)
Finally someone who understands, also lower resolution on screen (still over 400 PPI) means better performance in games and applications because it has the same processor except it’s moving less pixels, optical sensor is faster than ultrasonic and with optical being on power button where your thumb is seems practical. Flat screen is a god send for someone who likes having screen protectors (tempered glass) because I accidentally put keys in same pocket as phone and that equals a lot of scratches. Also s10 ships with cheap plastic one because tempered ones can interfere with ultrasonic sensor. The only way I see this phone as inferior is the slight very slightly bigger bezels.

749.99 for a 5.8" phone is not "great value" in 2019, when you can get really good phones with amoleds and great cameras for 399-499ish.

@@deleted6052 The OnePlus 6T starts at $549 last time I checked, which isn't very far from the starting price of the S10E, not to mention OnePlus has made some compromises to the 6T to attain that price point like no IP certification, no headphone jack, and a 1080p-ish display. Those aren't necessarily knocks against the phone itself but are still important considerations to look at
749 is a good price for a small device. Because there arent many very good high end small devices :)

@@deleted6052 Might've been bad wording on my part, I did say 1080p-ish but mostly to address the fact that the 6T, like a lot of high end phones nowadays don't use a typical 16:9 aspect ratio, which contributed to me saying that it's 1080p-ish. I'm well aware that the display is basically 1080p.
As for $500 being cheaper than $750, it depends on the person. Also helps that at least in the US, the 6T as well as most other flagships are more likely than not purchased via a payment plan so pricing won't matter and people will happily spring for the higher priced item. A $750 phone isn't what common folk would consider expensive if all they have to do is set up an EIP plan and pay basically $30-40 per month. I'm not saying that's better than paying upfront but it IS an option to consider.
