Yeah the design really made it look like it's a new gen (now they just look blander and blander). They also made a plethora of major improvements (the last generation to do so). Idk if you remember but it was also the first line to introduce a fold.

Maybe the ultrasonic sensor wasn't able to read your finger because the cracks distorted the signal. You should try to configure your fingerprint again to account for the distorted signal from your finger, maybe if it's configured to receive whatever is left after what you did to that poor screen you can still use the fingerprint sensor, just not with the originally configured fingerprint.

@@jelofishh it's not the tightest grip, but I can use it one handed just fine. When I need to type quickly, I use the "one hand operation" mode that scales the screen down substantially.
