Cool stack. One thing for sure… if you start going down the vintage silver rabbit hole, you become less of a stacker and more of a collector. But it’s all good!
I've felt the lure of vintage, collectibles, and other fun rabbit holes. Weight, simplicity, and liquidity became priorities because my exit strategy is a monthly LCS dump to supplement retirement. No spreadsheet needed for gold and silver eagles, generic, and 90% junk.
why would you swap real money for monopoly money??
To buy goods and services, you MUST convert metal back to currency when needed. Barter is a silly fantasy. No channel demonstrates their barter strategy, and none ever will because bartering is imaginary, only tough-boy talk.
I Thumb you up as soon as I come in. We went to a coin show in Maine and people do watch as we found out as well.
Buying vintage silver can be very addictive
My LCS here in Oregon never has vintage. When I was in Idaho, I could find vintage quite often. There’s a guy on IG from the Bay Area (Mooney) that has contacted the LCSs up and down the west coast and convinced them not to sell their vintage to the local community so he can hoard them all. My LCS has confirmed this to me. Kinda upsets me that one guy doesn’t give us local guys a chance to pick up some vintage. Maybe I’m whining to much but I wish he would give the rest of us a chance. Being 64 years old, I was thinking like you. Really worried about my heirs getting the true price for a rare ingots. That’s why I sold the entire collection
I know of that Mooney guy. He’s on eBay and has some awesome pieces that are not terribly overpriced but still expensive. I do agree that vintage should be accessible to all as there are already so few interested in it.
I ran into that Mooney guy at the coin show he’s kind of an azz treats his employees like garbage I actually passed his table because of how he was treating them I did say something about it straight up azz🕳️ !

Right now, you can get a lot of vintage for a great price. It’s interesting to think about if now is a great time to pick up vintage or a great time to pick up weight, while prices are low. I’ve never seen such an abundance and availability of reasonably-priced vintage since I started stacking, likely because many are needing to sell out of need. I have noticed an uptick of people inhaling large amounts of silver, both generic and vintage, while prices are low. Those with the powder dry seem to be taking advantage of the situation by backing up the truck, as you say 😊 great video brother. Hope you feel better soon and I’m glad you were able to make some great connects at the show. Next time, try to talk him down on the price of the vintage. I bet he wasn’t moving anything of significance if his prices were higher than eBay 😂

Nice southeast refining bar I got lucky the other day and picked up that same 1 oz bar for $25 bucks.

I agree that all the channels that talk about vintage bars now has made it more difficult to find vintage in my area and the prices have become a little too pricey for me.
Stack when prices are down, collect when prices are up.
Right on, that's what I try and do as well. Hoping to see under 20.00 silver again for adding good weight but not sure we will see silver in that range again.

I get the approach to stacking no matter the method, but as for me, I'll never quit the vintage. The history of the smaller mints and the silver resurgence in the late 1960's and 1970's is something I wish I was alive for, so I'll take the vintage when I find them. Either way, it's all about the white metal. Stack on!
(Btw, that 10oz Hoffman & Hoffman is sweet. There was a lie that floated around in the 1990's and onward that in the early 1980's the company fought the Feds in a lawsuit and had to melt their bigger bars into their smaller 1 oz rounds with the horse to recoup the costs of the lawyer fees. That lie is legendary in the vintage community and saw many of their horse rounds go for serious money back in the day)

Vintage is beautiful but yeah... It's like the cost of building and running a museum versus a warehouse. I love it and I focus on vintage rounds.
I have a couple of bars but nothing like what you have. 95% weight here.
Good thinking about what will be done with your stack later. Getting the most out of it is tricky and even more so with vintage.

I had heard of vintage clubs, especially FB groups. As for me, I have not joined any groups so far. It's amazing that our videos have that sort of impact on the silver market. I feel a bit bad about that for the collectors out there. Vintage is horrible for weight, no doubt. You can get generic silver closer to spot now, so I get it.

Love some vintage bars. I picked up 75 vintage 1oz bars from my Lcs for 25 a pice last week. I got several of those Panama City Florida bars.

I switched to 10oz coins and rounds because nice looking 1 oz stuff was kind of overpriced. Now the same stuff I was buying at like $290-360 are over $400... So I started buying gold. Premiums are down still and overall seems more pleasing than the past year results in silver.

I used to buy the older rounds and bars because they were being sold at a good price and I figured it didn't matter how they looked since an ounce of silver was an ounce of silver. Then because of the videos or maybe someone just got the bright idea, but they started calling them vintage or art, and the prices started going up. Now when you find them, the prices are quite a bit more then a new bar or round. I love the videos, but i do think they have indirectly had a negative effect on prices in general. It's not just coin dealers but thousands of people watch the videos and know more about the value of silver now. I used to be able to find great deals on junk silver and coins at garage sales and flea markets but now people know more about the worth because of the videos and it's harder and harder to find those great deals now. Prices now are usually way over inflated.

I'm not really into paying vintage premiums for vintage pieces luckily but I do pay for cool unique pieces which is my downfall. I stack as both a stacker and for a hobby I guess. Lord knows I have spent WAY more money on WAY worse things. Great video man.
It’s better to pay the high premiums on vintage because they sell very well for those high premiums unique silver or high price modern silver doesn’t do very well on a secondary market or at these that’s my experience thanks bro

Im in a couple of vintage bar grps. Good place to see pieces that you dont normally see.
You brought up an excellent when you said cheat sheet. I did that with cost and I update the values every once in a while because I'd die again if after I'm gone family sold off my stuff dirt cheap because they didn't know any better. Ideally it would be nice if they just held and appreciated whatever I have when the time comes.

I don't have any vintage bars, but I should have snatched some up when they were available. On the bright side, If I sit on my old geiger security bars for long enough, they'll turn vintage at some point. If I don't die first!

Really cool video. I'm still new, and got started on silver rounds, but I recently added a couple 10 oz bars to my stack. What are those two small bars sitting on top of that 10 oz kind of in the center of the table? The look like 1 oz bars. Just curious haha. I'm a sucker for cool 1 oz bars just for the occasional "fun buys"

I recently bough some (4) 1970's art bars for $4 over spot. They had between 75-100 bars. I went back a couple of weeks later and they were all sold. Bummer

If you buy high quality and sought after bullion you will capture that premium on resale. Buy low quality get melt or less back.

I own very few collectible precious metals. Because unless I know for sure that it will make three to ten times more money within one to five years.

I like bush craft fixed blades my most recent fixed blade purchase was a ESEE 6 it’s a bit big though I probably should of bought the ESEE 5 I also like the Condor line up in into custom and high end folders and bush craft fixed blades I don’t usually buy tactical fixed blades but I do like them ha ha I like all knives take care

Hobbies,If a person is making a lot of money if a person has a good career good job good salary why do you need to buy that you gonna turn it to money anyways one day and those things when they get so many it gets really heavy and it’s just going to be a hustle to get rid of eat to find buyers,My theory have a good career good salary in life that’s it!!!

If you want to know what your silver is worth, send your wife to your "buddy" at the LCS and have her tell him you died. See what she's offered for your stack. *Quotes over the telephone are non binding and a salesman's primary job once they get you on the phone is getting you in the store and I can think of several ways to devalue a stack once it gets to me. I'm sure they can think of several more. Get a better out strategy.

It’s been a bad season. RSV, influenza, and Covid are running rampant. I work in the healthcare field, and people both vaccinated and unvaccinated are catching the crud.

I Agree with ya 110%, best option under the current circumstances and situation. Best way to go is 10oz or kilo bars, yer not going to crazy that wway and at the same time you get a FAR BETTER Premium. I'm in the U.S, New to stacking but I've done my research VERY well. I prefer 10 Oz bars personally, however, what I don't like is America doesn't have its own mint 10oz bar, so I'm buying 10o, Royal Canadian Mint Bara. Ant other thought or suggestions? People say try n stick with mint from the country your from. With America, not possible with a 10oz bar.
Royal Canadian mint bars will do just fine and they are serialized as well . It would be nice if usmint made a 10oz bar but I would be afraid the premiums would be very high .
