    I gravitate to the lower premium silver, generally random manufacturer 10oz bars at my LCS. I'd rather have more silver than more exspensive silver.
    Sometimes its old, sometimes it new and shiny. Sometimes I'll get the bars they sell at a premium for the generic price. I like the variety and chance to get something really cool.
    Different people stack for different reasons, so find whats right for you.

    • @savagestacker

      Absolutely there hoarding the good stuff and selling on mineral X and eBay lots of shops I talked to in 3 different states all said the same thing why sell it locally and get 3 dollars over when they can sell online and get double there money . Probably 9 out of 10 shops said this same thing to me and or they keep the nice stuff for them selves occasionally they sell us some good vintage to keep us coming back . My coin shop right now has a unopened roll of 85 libertads in the silver foil which I’ve been looking for for many a year I know he has it he told me he had it and it’s mine once he decides to sell but he just won’t come off it yet . It has been a blast going through your channel from day one, video one and seeing you grow both in stacking and as a creator. You are a very generous and kind Savage. A well respected and loved member of this great community of awesome people. It will be very odd not hearing your voice in my ear first thing in the morning or at specific times during my days lol so I may just call you at 6am😂. Today, I am starting on your channel. New sub here. Idk if you will ever even see this message but it is here. I look forward to getting to know you brother. Let's do this! (9/18/2023) ~A.M.T.V.

    Engelhard and Johnson-Matthey 10 oz vintage bars command a premium. Some of the older SilverTowne bars as well. Golden Analytics but I don't know as much about them. Also see Bache here and there, they were once Prudential-Bache. I don't buy generics. I do like Monarch bars, Asahi, and Pamp Suisse. Once in a while some Argor-Heraeus or RCM bars. All pretty much trusted names. US 90% silver coins as long as they are VF or better.

    Right on Savage, vintage silver has an added value, especially if you can purchase it right! They aren't producing any of that old silver anymore, so as time goes on- the old bars become more scarce. The guardhouse box is looking great!

    • @Crypt0fin
      @Crypt0fin ปีที่แล้ว

      exactly most bullion silver is only sellable as bullion if you want to cash in later on it whereas numismatics have added value and will go up in value over their intrinsic spot price. For me Numismatics are better buys because of how their value doesn't fluctuate in bullion value like Junk and modern bullion does. Numismatics are better investments. If you are just looking for bullion that can be quickly bought or sold for their intrinsic value then go for it. Personally the first stuff I'm selling is the bullion while I'll save numismatics for the end of my life or to pass on. Older Engelhard bars are sold at a premium but there has to be a demand for said premium for premium to exist.

  • @williamfender661
    @williamfender661 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I stopped buying generic silver. All generic does is chase spot price. Most times, you are lucky to get spot price. If the spot price drops way down, then I will buy some generic. Ebay is a hard sell because you have to charge shipping plus Ebay fees, which take most of any profit you are trying to make. I try to buy silver, I know, will increase in value, which is newer graded coins. Even then, you still have to be willing to sit on it for a while. I have been burnt too many times buying generic. Dealers could care less about generic. Most times, they pay back of spot for it. Just my experiences.

    Your stacking the wrong stuff. You should stack semi-numismatic coins like Australian Kookaburas, Koalas, Wedgetailed Eagles, Emus, Swans, Stockhorses etc. Your guaranteed to make money each year. Your wasting your time with funky stuff - bars with toning.

  • @veritasfiles
    @veritasfiles ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hmmmmmmm....how to answer this question? I guess it depends on why you stack. If you're stacking for possible retirement or to supplement your retirement, you might stack one way. If you're stacking because you see a monetary disaster heading our way (i.e. a currency crisis or possible hyperinflation), then you might stack another. Relative to the reasons that I stack, you definitely are stacking a lot of the wrong stuff! HOWEVER, does that really matter? Probably not. Why? Well, because frankly, it's none of my business how or what you stack. 😂 But also, it's a little like arguing with someone that they own the wrong gun. Dude, I don't care what gun you own. My only concern is that you have a gun, know how to use & maintain it, have sufficient ammunition to make it a viable tool, and are a decent human being who wants to do right and loves his country. Beyond that, I couldn't car less if you're walking around with a .22, a S&W revolver, a 9mm Glock 19, or .50 Desert Eagle. Silver is sort of the same thing. As long as you're buying Silver & Gold, I'm happy. The reason is because just like with the guns, I know for sure that the more people who are buying up Silver & Gold and possess it when it counts, the better off everyone around them is going to be. Each person that is better off is another person who isn't roaming the streets ready to kill in order to feed their baby during a time of crisis or disaster. Also, I have to admit something that I confess to Silver Struck all the time. I LOVE OLD & VINTAGE SILVER! It's true, that I don't stack big bars because they don't fit in with the specific strategy that I've chosen, but I love seeing everyone's collections of these beautiful bars. They are awesome! Same thing goes for poured Silver. I love that stuff too, though I have none of it myself. I think one of the most important principles of stacking is to stack in a way that you find satisfying. If all you were allowed to do was buy American Silver Eagles because that was some kind of "rule of stacking" probably 99% of people wouldn't be buying the metals. By the way, I love the old style Gold Libertad! That's one you should keep for the long-haul. I do have some old vintage 1 ounce bars, but I stick to 1 ounce or below on Silver. I stack 90%, government minted bullion, generic 1 ounce rounds, & generic 1 ounce bars. I do have some old vintage rounds & bars though. In Gold, I stick to coins only of the 1/2, 1/4, and 1/10 variety. I never go above or below those sizes, and I stick primarily to Gold Eagles and secondarily to South African Krugerrands in those same sizes. For me, I want Gold that is closer to a circulation composition just in case that were ever to become necessary. Sorry for the long reply, but you know I'm kind of a windbag, so I guess you'll just have to deal. On the plus side, I did remember to hit the thumbs up for ya brother! Great video...keep stacking!
