i havent played alien isolation but from what i know from the movies and lore nuking the ship and killing absolutely everything on board to kill the alien sounds like a perfectly logical plan.
You should do one where players are forced to pick open a door that is half gone, where the player character could just easily reach over and unlock it from the other side. I know Fallout would have a place in this category.
Alien isolation does this on 4 separate occasions when the doctor gets killed by the alien when Samuels gets killed by Apollo when Taylor blows up and when you see Ricardo in the other side of the glass... Actually they does happen before you get there but if is behind glass lol
There really are a shit ton of times in games even games where you can usually bust or blow up concrete or metal walls yet ur stopped by a chunk of glass not always even bulletproof glass
In the case of the first black ops 2 scene that isn’t normal glass it’s most likely reinforced glass otherwise it would have probably shattered by the heat or from the truck tipping over.
It might not be console related, but in the first Dead Space you follow Acting Chief Engineer Jacob Temple throughout the Ishimura as he tries to find his gardening aficionado (and very Unitlogist) wife, Elizabeth Cross. Since you keep finding the logs you assume he's a capable fellow, but you eventually find him as he's captured by the resident religious whack-job, Dr. Challus Mercer, in the ship's cafeteria. And while there's another scene earlier on where a scientist is killed by a Lurker Necromorph, which unfolds in a few seconds, this one is inexcusable on Issac's part, as Mercer does a whole speech while you just stand there with a goddamn Mining Laser in your hand, after which he stabs Temple in the head. I mean, on the clock, you have a half minute of just siting around, when you could just SHOOT THE GLASS SINCE IT'S NOT AS TOUGH AS SPACE ROCKS, but no, he just dies. And the worst part? You don't even get to fight Mercer as a boss later, Resident Evil style. He basically kills himself by letting an Infector get close, and you see it in a video transmission, nowhere close to him. I mean, it would have been nice to at least stomp on his stupid face a bunch of times, at least....
May wanna add the newest lego star wars game, the skywalker saga cause it does a tribute to Rogue One's Vader hallway scene and you can't help stop him dur to it being a glass hallway
Maybe the glass isn't real glass, just a fabrication of your mind to explain away your inaction, the way you froze up when it mattered the most. Your wife/daughter/husband/son/father/mother/best-friend-from-highschool was threatened, but you just froze up, unable to act, letting the bad-guy/monster from hell/alien thing kill them in a gruesome manner. Your own heroic-ego-complex doesn't allow you to accept this so it creates this unbreakable-until-the-cutscene-is-over glass to explain away your own failures. It is the glass window in your mind that is unbreakable.
What about another in the batman series where in arkham knight where scarecrow makes it look like Barbra kills herself after she is hallucinating with fear gas

Black ops 2 was armored truck glass, about maybe 60-80mm thick bullet proof glass, black ops 1 air tight rooms to test a volatile nerve gas (id make the glass thick too, it should break though for how old it is) never played black ops 3 but if you look when they put their hands on the glass it’s pretty damn thick cliche yep breakable no.

I feel like too many people forget that the glass used in labs and on military vehicles are designed to not break which is why most of the scenes happen in labs.
You know, there is such a thing as plexiglass or bulletproof glass, which is damn near impossible for someone to destroy by hand, unless they're given an hour or two in addition to a sledgehammer or the like. To break it quickly you would need either a high powered rifle/sniper rifle with armor penetrating rounds or a rocket/grenade launcher(the latter would almost definitely kill the rescue target). Many military complexes, armored vehicles and some normal military vehicles use these kinds of glass, and all space shuttles and stations use it.
I just think it's hilarious to use any adjectives for alien isolation other than..most padded, drawn out full door opening game ever that occasionally has a really goofy xenomorph.. It looks gorgeous but that game is a 2 hour indie game stretched into a 20 hour droning plodding busywork game

That glass was almost definitely reinforced. It's the execution chamber of a police station. Obviously someone literally being led to the gas chamber isn't gonna care if they get gunned down so they're probably gonna try to BREAK that glass. So obviously it's REINFORCED GLASS WHICH IS HARD TO BREAK

So, actually, fun fact about glass on vehicles, especially military vehicles, it's much, much, much, much, much harder to break by simply kicking or punching the center. IF you want to try to break the glass on car door windows, you need to strike the outer edges. Even still, though, once again, military vehicles are kinda tougher than civilian vehicles, what, with having to try to contend with bullets more than they do fists or boots.

How about Bioshock 2? After going through the entire game Sophia Lamb suffocates Elanor just as you were about to rescue her because you were behind a glass that, despite being a seven foot killing machine wielding a power drill, you can't break.
Especially more surprising when you remember that the first Big Daddy you encountered in Bioshock broke through glass easily with a splicer as a weapon...
I've always assumed that same glass was the kind used for the windows (makes sense to keep her safe from splices) the kind designed o take a ton of force (since it's holding back the ocean) which is why it took a Big Sister's super knife to slice through it since it's not as strong to cleaving.

The Darkness is underappreciated in general. The Hell level is one of the most butt-clenchingly unnerving things I've ever seen in a game, horror or otherwise.

I feel like too many people forget that the glass used in labs and on military vehicles are designed to not break which is why most of the scenes happen in labs.

You know, there is such a thing as plexiglass or bulletproof glass, which is damn near impossible for someone to destroy by hand, unless they're given an hour or two in addition to a sledgehammer or the like. To break it quickly you would need either a high powered rifle/sniper rifle with armor penetrating rounds or a rocket/grenade launcher(the latter would almost definitely kill the rescue target). Many military complexes, armored vehicles and some normal military vehicles use these kinds of glass, and all space shuttles and stations use it.

I just think it's hilarious to use any adjectives for alien isolation other than..most padded, drawn out full door opening game ever that occasionally has a really goofy xenomorph.. It looks gorgeous but that game is a 2 hour indie game stretched into a 20 hour droning plodding busywork game

That glass was almost definitely reinforced. It's the execution chamber of a police station. Obviously someone literally being led to the gas chamber isn't gonna care if they get gunned down so they're probably gonna try to BREAK that glass. So obviously it's REINFORCED GLASS WHICH IS HARD TO BREAK

So, actually, fun fact about glass on vehicles, especially military vehicles, it's much, much, much, much, much harder to break by simply kicking or punching the center. IF you want to try to break the glass on car door windows, you need to strike the outer edges. Even still, though, once again, military vehicles are kinda tougher than civilian vehicles, what, with having to try to contend with bullets more than they do fists or boots.
Now you know! And Knowing is half the battle!

How about Bioshock 2? After going through the entire game Sophia Lamb suffocates Elanor just as you were about to rescue her because you were behind a glass that, despite being a seven foot killing machine wielding a power drill, you can't break.

I've always assumed that same glass was the kind used for the windows (makes sense to keep her safe from splices) the kind designed o take a ton of force (since it's holding back the ocean) which is why it took a Big Sister's super knife to slice through it since it's not as strong to cleaving.

I honestly found the scene of Jenny's death much more affecting in the comic. There Frankie just sent Jackie a VHS tape he viewed in a motel room. So by the time he watched that Jenny was already long dead.
