EDIT: Come to think of it, Ellen can become a cat, Jane is a terrifying demon and Mike is a fire-hazard waiting to happen. Everyone of these characters is straight out of their own personalised fanfiction except for Dob, who's just the real Luke in green face-paint TBH.

Speaking as a former DM, I have yet to be forgiven for announcing, after the players had used Cloudkill to wipe out a cavern full of amphibians; "The frogs have croaked." A DM's weapons are many and varied. :)
Killing them isn't fun. What you do. Is you introduce an NPC, and make them love them. Then, after a few sessions after they've gotten attached. Brutally kill the NPC to introduce a BBEG
I think my favourite part of these (aside from Johnny slowly question his life choices dealing with Andy) is watching Ellen's face as she listens to how the scene unfolds. You can clearly see her diving deep into the story and reacting with true emotion as things unfold. Mad respect for that mindset.
I'll write this spoiler-free: if anyone else is watching them back, like I do, THIS is the first episode where a certain character gained some rather useful abilities, only for the player, the DM, and everyone else to promptly forgot about them for 2 whole years. So if anyone else is mentally keeping up with all those times those abilities might have come in handy, this is where that begins.
Me at the beginning: "Ah good, finally level 3. Looking forward to seeing how they use their new abilities." Corazon: "I cast Grease." Me: "Well, I didn't expect that."
It's funny that when the characters wake up and are telling each other about their new abilities, Corazon displays a lack of concern when Merilwen mentions having a new animal form, only to be EXTREMELY surprised and panicked a few hours later when she premieres it mid-battle.
Hero of this one is definitly Jane ... not for anything she did in character, but for realizing that they could just talk normally and take it as given that they whispered ... really helps the auditory

She was given the book by her patron. If you look into the players handbook, you'll see it as a feat, one of three that can be taken by warlocks at level 3.
Or she was given it because Prudence made Cuthulu (I might have spelled that wrong) feel slight fear for the first time, and he was proud. Kind of like a parent, except instead of encouraging a hobby like art, or dancing, or science, he encourages brutal murder and torture in painful and creative ways.
CTHULHU like um Prudence I’m so extremely impressed and honestly a bit tariffed by your progress . Take these books and do some um independent studies.

Ernie120 He mentioned on the Xtra 500K subs video that he planned Corizon to be an idiot surrounded by more powerful characters, yet who thought he was the best because he had 'an amazing coat and hat'.
I love the differences between these guys, the TFS campaign, and Critical Role. All of them have different skill levels and are fun as hell to watch for different reasons.

Honesty it should be Merilwen being the leader of this guild as she is the wisest of the group. She has the most life experience as she is atleast a third older than the rest of the group and tends to take the supportive and protective role of the elder sister 😅.
I love this series, it always has me in stitches. Johnny is an awesome storyteller, and the animations are great! Glad to see I wasn't alone in thinking of Cicero at the mention of the jester. I'm writing this before watching part 2, but really hope someone uses the disassembled organ pipes as a second trap!

One of the best things about Oxbox is how PG they try to keep their language. It just makes the channel seem so wholesome.

Man, thanks Jane for being the first to say she's whispering while talking in a normal voice. I had to plug in noise cancelling headphones and rewind so many parts just for a chance to hear their whispers.
I love how murderous the party is, no one ever asked them why they need the silence, they were all like "you'll get your silence in hell maggot!"
OMG I love the new designs and all their expressions! How Bendix managed to get Egbert to properly emote is a feat I simply can't praise enough
