    This electronic crap almost got me in a really bad accident after 2 small road bumps on dry pavement killed power. Got home and found this. Worked like the man says. I advise all Jeep owners to do this. It drives steers and stops better than before. God bless✌️

      So did you just have the wire cut before? and now you put the toggle in?

    poster of video should add a .05 ¢ , rubber boot over the two pole switch: a lot more dust, grime and dirt get into that area than you’d think & it’d seal the switch ( plus look cleaner) . Nice write up . I went in under the cargo bin a bit further back in the console but I like your location, too. 👍🏻

    Shift knobs come off easy. Here's the trick. The knob has alittle rotation play not much but enuff. Pull hard hold tension about 30 40 lbs and use that twist play back and forth 10 20 times. Basically you are walking the spring loaded pin up the groove. Your welcom cheers from Nova Scotia Canada

    The shift knob has prongs on the bottom. You use a flat head and pry easy at the bottom it slips right off.

    Just found this video. I have always had the suspicions that my 2014 was applying the brakes at certain times when I am on rock ledges trying to launch and sometimes when trying to move around carefully on steep inclines. I've always been in 4lo. At times I've went from Drive to Reverse to back up off a ledge a d the brakes wouldn't even release when letting off the pedal! Is that something you were experiencing? I tell others about it and they don't believe me.

    • @WooPowOffroad
      @WooPowOffroad  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not exactly what I was having happen. For me it was when on the power and spinning tires on an incline. During this condition the power would be pulled and I lost all ability to accelerate until I took my foot off the accelerator and then pushed it again. Now, with this mod I don't seem to have this issue any more.

      I know I am late here but that is the HSA or Hill Start Assist and you should be able to turn off going through the setup menu.

  • @jaycotty
    @jaycotty 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Now my question is, will it lock the breaks on a hard breaking? If so, I may have to do that mod on my JK 2013 and the reason is that this morning going to work I rear ended a vehicle because the jeep didn't stop on time having enough room to stop I guess that is the cons of having ABS system in the vehicle, I knew if I didn't have the ABS on the breaks would've locket and saved me of having the accident. ABS is good for some things and sucks for others. Smh. Nice write up!

    Old vid but if you press and hold the traction control button it does the same thing.. Or pull the fuse J6 abs and hold on!

    • @WooPowOffroad
      @WooPowOffroad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pressing and holding the traction control did not work well for me. Even doing this the computer would cut power to wheels when i was spinning the tires climbing something. I cant speak for the fuse but dis not want to have to pull the fuse each ride and/or permanently loose traction control...that is why i chose to use a toggle switch so i could easily kill all computer control or leave it engaged.

  • @hilham89
    @hilham89 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My question is my traction control light is on but the button want do anything and my abs light is off. I ran the cide reader and it's not showing anything wrong. I notice when I take off it does shake and sometimes worse then others.

    All you need to do is take out any fuse that has to do with "ESP" or "ABS" to find the fuses just look at your manual.

    • @WooPowOffroad
      @WooPowOffroad  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      FAIR ENUF yes, however that is permanent and not a toggle on and off... unless you want to pull fuses and replace after each wheeling trip.

    • @fairenuf1045
      @fairenuf1045 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WooPowOffroad it is very tedious, but I would suggest pulling fuses first just to feel how your car handles without electronic braking and to get use to it. Once you've adapted and understand your own car better, then I would go for a more permanent solution such as a on/off switch as seen in your video.

  • @ALL_OFF-ROAD
    @ALL_OFF-ROAD 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did the same on mine last year, but just to let you know, it will still cut the engine in deep snow or mud if the jeep is inclined, so you can totally forget the idea of a swing. This is the main reason for doing this mod and it didn't do it. Probably more effective to just take the fuse off and disable the entire ABS module.

    That 'auto correct' about killed my family last night. layer of slush on the hwy, Dodge nitro '08. Son said the vehicle started to drift a little, he lifted and steered into the skid... like hundreds of successful recoveries in 'driver only' vehicles before. He told me :it was the fastest he's ever felt a vehicle get out of control'. They went down through the ditch, and sheared off a power pole.The Dodge did stay on it's wheels, and the impact was dead center front.All I'm saying is not every instance can be managed with a computer. Will be doing something like this for my 06 Liberty. Soon.
