Glad you are able to disable by pressing and holding the TC button. I wish I could do the same on my ‘18 grand Cherokee but they didnt allow it. So frustrating.
I want to thank you for sharing the moving from auto to manual tip. I got stuck in a mud hole for a bit and had no idea while I could not get wheel spin. I am a newbie was trying different things, things I thought I learned…but did not log all my actions, but now that I think about it, I may have moved to manual…I have been looking into it for months without new insight until tonight…thanks again!
I think there are some tuners that can completely disable it. Other than that you could run a toggle switch from the abs fuse so you could just click it off.
To truly use the BLD, you need to mildly apply brake while ALSO applying the gas peddle. It will make a funny sound which will tell you it is working. It works great when you get stuck and one wheel spinning. You will then have power go to the non spinning wheel
Well what you're saying might help slightly it definitely contradicts the owner's manual and the BLD works well without hitting the brakes and putting additional stress on your drivetrain and wasting power. Hitting the brakes is also going to add resistance to the non-spinning wheel..
@@MudPuppyOffroadyeah it’s going to apply the brakes to both sides evenly- on a open diff this means it will cancel out. On some other types of diffs maybe adding brake force would multiply power added to the other side but not on open diffs like a jeeps I don’t think.
will Manuel mode not work to give more power in 2wd and 4 hi? I've had 5 jeeps, but when I got my '18 new I opted for the JKU since the JL was brand new and I had parts from my '11 JK. I also wanted a Manuel and it was a 2 month wait on the JL. Glad it's still a lever for transfer case and not a button.
I have 2020 with 8spd auto transmission. He is correct on mode selection. But in 4 low if it starts from a stop in second. You can go manual and shift to low 1st. But if the low 4 is selected then in low manual 1st and 2nd the TCS is still on and it even if you floor it, you can't burn out in either gear. But if you go to 4 Low 3rd gear then the computer will not cut throttle and you get full power and can smoke the tires all 4.

On my 2021 Gladiator as soon as I put it in 4L traction and stability control turn off I think it turns everything off in 4H as well but I can’t remember.
I mean, I'm sure that's what you think is happening... That's what the lights would indicate but if you test it there is still some torque limiting happening unless you put it in it to manual mode first gear. This is a well-documented thing
Have you had any issue in reverse ... My Mojave doesnt wanna come out of traction control in reverse even if OFFROAD Mode + is activated in 4 LOW ... I dont understand !

ESC will only turn off in 4 wheel drive because you are telling the system to lock up the differential and it knows that you're trying to go through some bad shit off roding If you want it completely off then you have to mod your CPU a bit and use different Bluetooth OED2 apps to Customize your truck/jeep
When your in 4H put it in neutral, engage e brake then drop it into 4low 😎 make sure your seatbelt is on cause the truck won’t move if it’s off. At least that’s the way it is with my 21 gladiator rubicon 👍
@@mfh2112 the more you shift it the easier it will get. Mine stock was super stiff to shift. Now it’s like butter and can be shifted stopped 4/5ths the time.
Just a thought, but what does going back into 2hi do after disabling ESC in 4hi? Haven't tried it in my Gladiator because I just saw your video on this, haha
at 4:05 you were talking about holding the button in for a minute - then it "broke". You were being punished by some smart ass developer who knew people would make the leap from 5 seconds to a longer duration, and wanted to congratulate (give you the finger with a smile) to congratulate you for trying the hack. Fun times. Keep in mind though... If someone drops an Easter egg on you for something like that, probably, there is another Easter egg built in to do EXACTLY what you're trying to do. Go find it. On second thought - could be a dumb bug. ;)
Jeep forum people are generally some of the least knowledgeable on earth, in my experience. I'd be looking for a fuse or relay to pull that shuts all the BS off.
I watched a lot of video from experienced offroader. And they all say the same low range should be done in manual mode. Thanks for that video

the esc fuse on the jl controls your power steering as well for some dumb reason

Can’t completely disable in 2wd unless you pull the fuse or get a race tune from Greene racing and I’m not sure if he can tune new gladiators yet...
So bld does work in 4 hi as long as you don’t touch the traction control button?

The reason why it doesn't do anything when you long press it in 2 HI is because you're in Drive. You need to be in Park or Neutral :)

My 2011 ram 1500 terns it off automatically and shows that the system is off on the dash
