i tried another version of this and it was crap but this one works and my note 5 is now a s8 plus I have a s8plus so I know how it works and what it should do and this rom setup does what its suppose to. Thank you again

I did the same thing with my girlfriends s6 plus too and it worked perfectly we live in canada so i had concerns but everything works perfectly thanks again my friend you did a great job with this video and explained everything to a T well done.

TechinfoMania Yes it works just fine put the SIM card from her new phone into her s6 plus and we were connected to the network could make phone calls text message and LTE as well 😊 everything works as it should couldn't be more pleased.

The ROM I'm running is the Note 5 Telecom S8 7.0-nougat-March 1st 2017 security patch, and it runs like a charm with all the features included.

after installing both rom and kernel my note 5 kept on comning back to twrp recovery . ifollowed khongloi instruction forV11 on xda dev but it kept coming back to twrp. pls help

I use one if it for like 14 to 15 days and then change my rom to other. 3 if it are working perfectly
Excellent video, well done!! Hoping you can help me understand one thing I was confused by: Does it make sense to flash "KHONGLOI-NOUGAT-V11-Note5" (Note the * V11 * in title) instead of "S8 plus rom final repack?" I am unclear of which "version" the "final repack" is since there isn't one titled "Final" in that series.
The introduction page of both ROMs on XDA (I believe) look similar and it KHONGLOI and appear to serve the same purpose (S8+ interface working on Note 5). I was tempted to go with v11 ROM, but instead decided to play it safe and follow your lead.
Any comments, thoughts, etc. much appreciated!

First thing is, custom roms will still be minor buggy, if it says final release, both are same thing, minor difference may find in both roms. If i have to flash one of it, then will decide to flash both but first v11 for a month then will go for the other, will stick with one which may found more stable.
By the way i have used s8 plus rom a lot and was working perfectly with my t mobile note 5 variant.
@@techinfomania598 Thank you for your quick reply! I decided to play it safe and follow your lead, so I went with "final repack." Oddly, it's a little buggy on my 920T with the fingerprint scanner sometimes not working (just need to type PIN, so not a big deal and there are a couple of other minor issues). One slightly worrisome problem - I think is unrelated to the ROM, but may be due to using TWRP 3.0 (?) - is the "KERNAL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING" in red every time I restart. I'm *not* stuck in a bootloop or other signficant hassle, I just receive that message.
I'm using an SM-920T on Baseband version N920TUVS6ERH1 and it's showing Kernal version 3.10.105-KNONGLOI-N-FINAL-N920T. I "Samsung Synced" with my actual S8+, which saved a lot of setup time, but want to keep my current settings. I apologize in advance for laziness (back in S3 and S4 days I flashed ROM more frequently, now I've forgotten these things) and not researching the answer more myself first, but could you please give me steps to correct the KERNAL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING issue while saving my apps, data and settings? I would be most grateful!!

You did not install OMC/CSC version or is it builtin in final version, was calling working?
Calling working yes but only with the global variant. Calling and calling sounds not working with Other variants like tmobile and etc
@@techinfomania598 I think there is a file with omx/csc fix that we do that, i once installed its previous version calling was working ..

bro how can i reset my knox warrenty on samsung note 5.. ???? i just rooted my phone but after i realised my Samsung health is not working because of rooting so i unrooted the phone but still facing the problem.. do you have any suggestion.??
Knox warrenty cannot be reset dear. Its be like that. Only flashing stock rom back on samsung mobile can make the things work. But knox still be remain same. Once twist will remain like that

Show the boot animation, on my Note 5 ported S8 it's got a really cool boot animation, I want to see if it's the same as yours, if you can't do that that's all right, I also chose super SU, and I also flashed viper for Android, other than that, it's one awesome phone, the Note 5 with all the S8 features, super smooth and responsive.

I followed your steps set the rom based on my phone. Also i already check the compatibility of khongloi roms. N9208 sir. Now i restock the firmware but now im still having the same issue. Shutting down and boot loop.

Yes rom will work but if your N920V of verizon bootloader is unlocked then yes you may flash this rom. Because verizon mobile phones specially samsung verizon bootloader comes with locked bootloader from which we are unable to flash custom recovery.

It's look like you never have flashing recovery before?
When you try to flash custom recovery your device will show failed which means the device bootloader is locked

It worked but I had problem with my calling and messaging app so I had to flash a fix file from xda
Apart from that I had no problems except the battery drains very very fast. Do you have a fix for It?
No dear. No fix for battery draining. Battery draining issues comes like with 2 out of 10. And i have no issues with battery. Thank you

you are welcome dear, well seems both note 5 dual and single sim have same specifications but i am not pretty sure about working on n920d dual sim note 5. why dont you try and let us know about working. but remember make your current rom backup. incase if rom not working then you may restore to earliest rom
@@techinfomania598 I flashed it but now its stuck in bootloop. keeps restarting bringing the "powered by android" logo over and over again. I tried flashing it again but I saw on the longs an error (E:recv error on uevent) kindly assist. My note 5 is N920D and I cant find its stock rom anywhere to roll back.
i mentioned to make a backup of your current rom that you are using. you did it?
if yes then you may restore it. otherwise i have to look for your firmware
i have found stock rom but it is lollipop 5.1.1 and you may take the ota updates later

yes it will because the dual sim set is not fully supported :(

Hi dear, i m sorry dear, i can't guarantee that this rom will work on dual sim note 5. Becasue both kernel is having differences. If i was having dual sim note 5, i must try to flash to check and also not working then will try to flash other kernels to make the rom work

Not good!
That's the internal storage partition where your custom ROM(s) are stored. It'll take you back to the custom recovery if this is wiped, especially if your backed up ROM was in there.
Were you able to find the OEM firmware and flash it back to stock?

If your device is allowed to get the custom recovery flash then yes it will work. But unfortunately att devices comes with locked bootloader and custom recovery cannot be flash

custom rom always will have minor minor bugs which may come after using, never say that it will be full and final, even stock have some time minor bugs

Will I lose my photos, work files and folders. . . by flashing this, I know I have to backup my current OS in TWRP but DON'T know about my files, folders out photos since this device has NO external SD card🤔
Your apps will get deleted but your photos and videos will remain there if you did not select the internal storage for wiping. But better to save your data first for safety

Actually this rom is fully working with global note 5 only. With other variants things are missing or not working like calling or nav bar. But i will check again
