Absolute LIFESAVER tysm man!!! Literally just needed like an extra hour to finish my footnotes in a big project, and this gave me time to finish and then reply with my “backup copy” as soon as my prof emailed me about the “glitch” ... certainly not my proudest academic moment
i did this and when my teacher said i had to send it again i said i also couldn't open the file and she talked to another teacher and in the end i just didn't have to make it and didn't got a grade so i'm not failing the subject rn :) thanks!
@@woodentable7744 it has to start as a docx file, so word, then you change it to .txt then corrupt it and change it back to docx by changing the name again
Only if you download the doc as a file and then do the process with the file. Google docs are saved on a website and can not be corrupted for this reason.

@@bobfranklin2121 Google docs is different because it's saved on the google cloud servers, and not on your pc like normal files so it won't work

I'd say compress the folder into a zip file, then change it to a .txt -> mess it up -> change it back to a .zip
