The tone of the movie is mild, slow, humble, don't expect the movie to be like padmavat or Bajirao Mastani, it is a master piece in its own soft, naive, tender way.
true and i love it as the way it is. It is more realistic.
The movie's not 'naive'
Jodha Akbar one of my favourite movie
For me personally it's wayyy better than both bajirao mastani and padmavat although I love those movies.
Jodha Akbar is far more better than Bajirao and Padmavat.

@Classic Action Movies matlab
Aishwarya Rai wears brown eye contacts for this movie. That's why she looks a little different in this movie. Very beautiful nonetheless.
M surprised that the director wants an Indian Princess to look without a Gray-green eye but at the same time for Akbar, he chose light brown eyes. People have misconceptions about Indian eye color. In my family also there are women with light eyes (gray-green, dark gray, and cat eyes). The Indian majority, we do have dark brown eyes but at least 5% have light eyes including blue, green, and yellow color combinations which are rare but exist.
@@rudraprashad Because Jodhabai, as mentioned by the historians, didn't have grey-green eyes. The director Gowarikar doesn't exaggerate visuals like Bhansali. Gowarikar has a reputation of keeping it authentic.
@@elioo613 ummm, have you ever looked at a portrait of Jodhabhai? She actually had blue green eyes. But i still don't know why she wore contacts
@@vigneshnehru9822 LOL. What portrait??? Dude, professional historians know better than you about Jodhabai and they NOWHERE mentioned Jodhabai had blue-green eyes.
This movie hardly used any CGI... All extras were, in most cases, extras.
They used CGI often 👍
I have seen this movie twice and did not find CGI anywhere....It was just like Mugle azam...no CGI at all....
@@rudraprashad its more on the broad perspective.. U can easily find video regarding cgi breakdown about this movie ✌️
@@rudraprashad the scenes where Battle of Panipat 2 is shown, has extras... also the last war in the movie. Scenes which show the outsides of ancient palaces are also edited, because today you have buildings, wires and poles all around.
@@abewewew The makers have used CGI in showing huge amount of soldiers and elephants in the first battle of Panipat by duplicating them by CGI..the cannon balls fired and advancing towards the adversaries in the battle against the Rajputs was CGI ..again the palace scenes also had used CGI...
Oh god, please someone sub this for them. They are not giving gold. The people liked the king and gave a title out of love and the king is giving his body weight of gold to the people. The Queen returns from her maternal home after a long time so they are also welcoming her.
Finally...someone corrected their interpretation
It was about the abolition of jazia tax
Yes. This song needed subbing. It was disappointing to watch it without that.
@@davincecool I won't say it was disappointing but I think they didn't wanted any spoilers that's why they didn't used subtitles
Yeah 75% of fiction made this movie Gold...!
Akbar was happy because the people gave him new name out of love that is “abkar” before this his birth name was “jalaluddin muhammad” and after this event throughout history and even today he is known by the name “jalaluddin muhammad akbar”. “Akbar” means the greatest or the shadow of god. The gold which was being measured by his weight wasn’t the gold given by people, actually it was akbar who was giving the gold to the people in his weight for donation, it was ritual back then that the royal families use to donate gold measured in weight of someone in the family on occasions like birthdays, marriages or celebrations of some sort to express their happiness and gratitude with the people of kingdom.
Hazrat Qutub Jalaluddin was a sufi saint of 16th century in India and known in the Thanesar. Not only his status, but his commands are also famous, his book Tariqa Salikin is world renown as well
He was famous mystic saint during Emperor Humayun's and Akbar's rule. Emperor Humayun added Jalauddin in the name of his Son Akbar in the honour of his spiritual guru. And many of royal court members were also his disciples
@@rahatkhan263 is he the same saint who predicted to Akbar that if he goes in front of High Highness Maharana Pratap Singh ji, he will be chopped ?

Yes, this movie is a masterpiece and you should definitely give it watch (it's worth the 3+ hours 😂). But please keep in mind that it was made an entire decade before Bajirao and Padmavat, so don't expect crazy CGI and be prepared for the film's slightly slower pace.

Some facts: the story is real, the jewellery used is real, most of the film is shot in the original fort.
No, it's not. It was shot at many different forts, including a fort they built in ND Studios in Karjat. The structure can be seen even from outside the studio walls
@@RamyaVnkt most or all me difference hota hai 🙄
Umm i am not a professor but i don't think the story is 100percent real. There are lot of unknown facts about this story. Semi fictional you can say .
The story is not real! It has a lot historical inaccuracies. Yes it is based on real life historical figures, and thats about it
Wtf??? Even the director didn't mentioned "based on true story"
Akbar had so many wives...
And so many things were fictional...
Akbar had killed so many people and involved people for conversion too... So this movie's story is totally fictional...!

@Baljeet Attal y
Inspite of being made a good movie ...but its real history was very very different.
These film was just to glamourious the name Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar .
True history says there was no such Jodha who maried to Akbar.
It was Harkubai or Harka bai or Mariyyam Ujjmani ( named given by mughals) the daughter of King Bharmal of Amer dynasty.
History says that Jodha bai was queen who married to Jahangir ( salim) the son of Akbar & Harkhabai
Actually Jodha bai is the daughter in law of Akbar and was married to Jehangir (son of Akbar) and she was the daughter of Mota udai sing of the king of marwad.

There was no wife of Akbar by the name of Jodha. Maan Singh's daughter whom he got married to, as a political alliance with the Rajputs, was Harka Bai. Though Jahangir did have a wife named Jodha. I have been to Fatehpur Sikri, which was built by Akbar to commemorate his siege of Chittoregarh Fort, which was the seat of his throne, and which has been depicted as the location of this song in the movie. It is a heritage site, hence big shoots are prohibited. That's why they had to create the set in Karjat, Maharashtra.

This is Ashutosh Gowarikar's finest work in terms of Scale, Battle Scenes, Grandeur, Costuming, Cinematography, Music... You Name it. Having seen both Lagaan and Jodha Akbar both, I would watch this much more times than I would watch Lagaan.
The most luxurious, beautiful, beyond thinking with top notch acting, historical movie is "Mughal-E-Azam " 1960,, you’ve seen a song of it pyar kiya to darna kiya,,, the emperor Akbar is played by Prithviraj Kapoor (Ranbir's great grandfather)
It's far better than Padvawat. That I can guarantee. And the funny thing is that even though it is 3 and a half hours long, it doesn't showcase the very happening life of emperor Akbar. Instead focuses on his love life.
AR Rahamaan was born to create music... This choreography is a celluloid masterpiece!

I wish they would cast someone from north east India as Akbar, Becasue Mughals were actually people from turkey with Mongol roots. If you look at some of their paintings, they do look like Mongols a little bit.
Yeah but Mongols are way bigger in stature and you can actually tell the difference by looking at them.
Exactly my thoughts, but what to expect from Hindi film industry, they gave Mary Kom's role to Priyanks Chopda 🙄

Wow.. Nice... I think Rick and korbin knew the meaning of each and every hindi words.. Amazing... 😜
They should have picked any north-east Indian actor to portray Mongolian descent king Akbar. But, not much expectations from Hindi film industry as they given role of Mary Kom to Priyanka Chopda, when we have many talented assamese actresses.
The reason being such off beat stories are carried by the star popularity and make money. The important thing in Mary Kom is that the inspiring story of the real Mary Kom was told and reached millions, it most probably will inspire others to excel at sports. I am sure there are very great Assamese actors who would have done a better job of portraying Mary Kom, but he message would have had limited audience. Remember movie making is also a business, they have to make money so they can plan the next project.

It's called "tulabharam" - the tradition of a newly crowned or titled ruler giving their own body weight in gold to the people as a mark of celebration.
And the titles being bestowed upon him are twofold: Shah-en-shah and Akbar. King of kings and "the great one". Allah-u Akbar literally means "God is Great". So for Jalaluddin to be given a title used in conjunction with the name of Allah was one of the greatest honors a king could be given.
