Man !! Sometimes I really feel like crying.. remembering my childhood. Being a 90's person ..this brought back so many memories. There was no internet..no social media..no big TV screens..no multiplexes...no tower like buildings...yet we were happier. No chaos. There were huge fields to run around...huge gardens.... Almost every household had a garden with mango trees..guava trees. We knew every family in the neighborhood. Whenever we made some special cuisines we used to distribute in the neighborhood. We weren't that urbanised..but somehow there was more peace and comfort.
We had no mobile phones but knew where to find somebody we wanted to find. Everyone would be present at the scheduled time and place for a get together. Things were much simpler in those days and people cared about being with people. It is the exact opposite in the current time.
I had put off listening to the new version and my fears have been confirmed! The old version had sports stars (all kinds not just cricket prakash padukone deepika's dad was in the kannada section i think), film stars, noted music maestros and common people. And I cannot but shed a tear at the end when the kids come together and form the flag!

The meaning of the words in every language is the same " mile sur mera tumhara. Sur ki nadiya Har dishaa se ......etc".
It gives me goosebumps when the bangla part " Tomar sur moder sur shrishti koruk oikko sur" comes. I remember loving this as a kid when it came on Doordarshan. ( the old one, the new one isn't good). Now after such a long time I listened to it again through your channel. Now that I stay in the UK, the bangla part makes me tear up.
