But having watched Bombay, Anjali, Roja and Guru, which are by the same filmmaker, Mani Rathnam, I think Dil Se didn't quite make the cut as these other films of his. With actors like Shahrukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, I feel he could done so much more with this movie. But the songs are truly memorable.

Nothing could be as beautiful as this song is.thanks to AR Rahman and sukhbindar singh,when he picked up the line,yaar misaale os chale.it took my heart and gave me goosebumps.it was gorgeous.What a magical composition is this.
This was one of the most popular songs in all my school years. A lot of really cool things came together here. The movie which was beautiful + the song itself + the legendary Sukhwinder Singh's voice + the novelty of the choreography + the beyond gorgeous Malaika Arora who was seriously one of the most gorgeous looking women in the country. All this equals to this song being performed in every concert and every fest when we were growing up 😃

this song is a masterpiece , A R Rahman was inspired by the sound of the moving train and that is the steady beat in the background. this song is legendary all Indians are proud of it. we love love love it. Rahman would have won all the awards for this score all around the world if it had ever been included for music in foreign category. i think he will even win it was included today in any music category.
