I remember watching the first LMX developed by a forum user as a diy project. So nice to see the evolution into such a fine machine.
i agree its come a long way this is one of best styled e-mtb on the market
@dansacco1964
Down hill, someone must race it with the Surron LBX.
I REALLY like the separate drive train. In a perfect world, thatd be great for every middrive!
Down hill, someone must race it with the Surron LBX.
You can buy a Luna Cycle X2.5 with 2,500 watts, 58 lbs weight, 60 volt battery, 40 mph top speed, 95 nm of torque, carbon fiber frame -- all for $4370.
Ya but Luna cycle service blows after they get your money ! And x2 isn’t belt drive on one side. All that power breaks bike chains.
@@pstarxxx78it's 7500 dollars , you can buy a lot of bike chains on the Luna and still have cash left over😊
@@jimbo4203 I’d rather pay a lil extra and not have to buy 500 chains or deal with 50 emails from Lunas horrible customer service. I’e telling me I broke the bike when they sent me a bike with 2 left crank arms. Then telling me to just get another left pedal and use loctite.
@@pstarxxx78 that's not good
@@jimbo4203 I’m not the only one with this type of experience from lunacycle. I understand ppl buy things, mess them up and try to return them as defective. My experience was an out right gaslighting. No matter how many videos or pictures I sent them. They would say “you broke it” I told them I was willing to drive to LA and show them in person. They were still resistive. 2weeks and 50 emails later they sent me the part. I’ll Never buy again from them. And I’ll never recommend them.
I had one since about 4 year back this year and it's been awesome. I ride heavy technical enduro mainly and I only done regular service and tires. Great power, great technical help from lmx and very durable. Still runs great. I removed the throttle and just use pedal assist but that's more than enough. Great fun!
yeah on trails in california you can't have a throttle to be legal but i don't see what the big deal is if the output is the same
What kind of range does your ebike get?
@@hjacobsen9306 plenty! Ofc you can ride it on mode 4 on the throttle and that differs quite a lot from pedal assist but still great range. About 2h of riding on the throttle with some pedaling. Never worried about it
This thing is pretty bad ass. Pretty much my dream Emtb. I've been running the Bosch motor chipped to 28mph on my Trek Rail and love it. The idea that you could dial this down to ride on single track but then hit it up when you're out adventuring is pretty cool. Wish I had $7500 to blow right now!
wish my Rise did 28, that is sweet. I bet that burns up battery
@@KurtRWalker your rise can do the same. Volspeed chip for Bosch. It doesn't change the battery drainage very much unless you're keeping it in boost anyway.
@@jeffp5418 I ride in Boost a third of the time probably. when pressed for time I will do the whole ride in boost with extender, Rise is Ep800 and 801 Shimano. Wild is Bosch
You lost a lot of weight since i last watched one of your vids. Congrats! I have been owning one with a drive belt for the last 4 years and it s truely a blast, but their last model, the lmx 56 is even more impressing, allowing to adapt the bike computer and specs to your weight and drive style.
john hicks needs to get his hands on this lol
He just did a video on his.
It's been a while since I stopped by. The weight loss looks great!
Yeaah, thank you for this great review! ⚡
Looks like a perfect combination of power and weight and fun.
This is the type of bike I need. I live on top of a mountain, it's 2.5 miles from my house to the County Rd all down hill! This would solve so much of that. I would just need some mud flaps and some cargo carring (though I could use a backpack). The mud flaps through are a nessinty since we get "mud season" in the spring when all the snow melts.
Stunning machine!I could have a lot of fun on one of these.😁
E-bikes are almost there. If regulations don’t ruin it for us I can’t wait to see where e-bike will be in 10 years time!
1. "Like the Surron, it will destroy our trails." Said the Karen.
2. "Please make it illegal on mtb trails." Said the Karen.
3. Due to the Karens, my Surron will soon have a stable mate.
Please test a LunaCycle X2 …. Should be on your dyno list for sure
I love it. This is what I am looking for. I want something to rip the trails hard but the price is high.
I use a GT LTS full suspension with bbshd bac asi 3000 watt bursts.. and a 80cc engine.. with fatbike front wheel disc brakes conversion and rear wheel 24 inch hub brakes.. works well. Works well..
I would love this!
looks like the
best thing ever
That's figgen awesome! I want it!
Brilliant thanks 😊
You should put ride stats in descriptions.
I always wanna know the volts, amp hour, watts, torque, etc right out of the gate.
This electric bike reminds me of my old probeast carbon fiber mountain bike, very nice. One question? Where are these mountain trails are you located. Looks awesome!
Very tempting..Now make me one good for the street carrying stuff on a rack during wet weather and in traffic that goes 35 to 40 mph..👍
A good street bicycle with upright rider ergos, I am tall and hate the position MTB's put you in. Not much out there, leave out rear suspension and the options get a little better. Looks like I'll be building my own at this rate.
@@robmanueb. I'm sure this bike can be duplicated as a comfy city cruiser. Just add 15 lbs and 10 mph out of the gearing. AKA ( E Cells) & Wired Freedom
@@robmanueb.Look at E Cells!
Design & Electronics wise; its probably very beneficial for voltage drop, etc to have the battery so close to the motor!
I don't think you'll sell many at $7.5K; my limit is about $5K and I'll go DIY until there's something in that price range for my trails.
Looks sick but where I live very few places to ride this thing. With this much power might as well ditch the pedals, get dual crown fork, and .. what am I talking about just get a damn surron lol.
That is crazy power.
See you on May 4! I'd be interested in demo'ing your $2k bike on sone of those flow trails.
hahaha weve had a few up to 30 000 watts rear a rear motor and close to 40 000for dual motor ,this lmx is ripe for controller upgrade and 72 volt battery im pretty sure you double that 2500 to 5000
Peace be with you! Thank you for your review of this exhilarating e-MTB. About your comment regarding its price, the amount LMX is asking is hard to justify. You mentioned, there are Sur Rons, NIU XQi3, Goat Power Bike's $4K THE DIRT GOAT et al all costing much less. A lesser degree, Goat Power Bike's $2.5K MOTOR GOAT V3. Its direct drive motor peaks to 2600W. Thanks again.
It all depends on the use case. I think we can agree that none of those are capable of what this bike is on the trails. But I look forward to riding a Goat bike next month! It will be fun in a different way. It's harder to justify if we don't have Matteo's riding skills!
I didn't see an actual, made to pedal, bicycle on the GOAT web site. The LMX is a legitimate bicycle not a moped style e-bike. I'm not against either of them, but to be a "bicycle" it should have an adjustable seat for various height individuals and human powered pedaling shouldn't be an after though.
Any chance you have a spare ebike i could use to start my review channel? I can even send back after i review. I just cant afford to buy one myself but i really wanna start an ebike channel. Thank you for your consideration@@Area13ebikes
All the bikes you mentioned are much different and have different purposes. This is a freeride / enduro style bike with specific geometry. The bikes without pedals are not the same.... this is a mountain bike not a motorcycle. Just explaining the bike not arguing. ✌ You make valid points.
Love all your reviews !!! Would really appreciate a Wired Freedom review
I absolutely love them I want to Luna X2 and this is all along that lines I guess it's a competitor I'm all about these bikes and I raced professional BMX/ Motocross you name it
Get the X2 with Ludicrous Upgrade $420.00. It is so worth it! Not sure why this bike is left out of his testing.
Outstanding eBike.
High road bikes start from about $8,000. So this is a low price point in comparison.
The 65 lb weight is light enough to carry up a set of stairs. For comparison, my (non-motor) Schwinn mountain bike weighed 55 lbs.
I do like the idea of it being a bicycle but then, essentially, a dirtbike when you need it. That's what I made my bsshd build for and this thing seems to check every box that my build doesn't. And weighs in at only 4lbs heavier than my bike.
I'm unsure on how to feel about running a drivetrain on both sides of the bike, which I guess would depend on how easy it is to work with when you need to take it apart. But even running 1500watts through a bicycle drivetrain is not easy on parts, so I do like seeing the belt drive and massive gear for the motor side drivetrain.
Tempting bike but price is pretty mad. Riding a 3kw bike myself I can attest to the fun you get from bikes like that. ;-)
Its an interesting concept. I've often wondered what an emtb with ~ 4HP would be capable of. Seriously 🤔 I think about this often. This technology is here now... imagine the future.
I’m dying to know the rumour on the biktrix that’s coming out to possibly retake the thrown?! Especially because I own the juggernaut xd and a e ride pro and was thinking about adding a front wheel hub for a touch more power!
Speed & Distance are the most important issues going forward for E-bikes..., speed should be at least 40 mph, and distance at 100-150 miles.
I am sure you could hack it to go faster. It is software limited to 28
Surprised that you don't have the WattWagon Hydra on the list, I have the Classic & it's Fantastic.
Not really available anymore. But I do have 1 motor left with their archon controller.
Is there any value in looking into modding a Lectric Xpeak? multi battery or replacement controller come to mind. thoughts?
Amazing but too expensive! Although it is a MID DRIVE which is insane with that much power. Very juicy. I want to ride one!
Looks good but I would have to sit on it to know I like to be able to slam the seat so it's approximately 30 inches of the ground just right above 29er rear wheel..and see if I can adjust acceleration for the different modes and also shuttle..but it seems like it's good but they should have hidden that motor so it wouldn't be visible that it has a massive el scooter 🛵 motor
Man! If I get 2 more full time jobs I can buy one of them in a couple years 🤪
Impressive bike, is it any good against the bikes called frey from China,?? Frey ex pro,
great bike . i would Still go with Biktrix Jug XD , especially since LMX is Euros and Biktrix in Canadian dollars . our US dollar is weaker than the Euro But stronger than the CAD . Kyle , you could get your stunt double a FS XD to see what he thinks between the 2
This bike is not the same as in any way to the Jug XD... its for freeride / enduro style riding. Jugger is a nice bike but not designed for the type of riding the LMX can do.
Do a review of the FLX blade 2.0
I noticed you don't have any of the Luna bikes on your list. My Luna X1 is full carbon fiber, has Rock Shox front and rear, running the SRAM NX Eagle set, has a throttle, and is pushing 2000 watts of power. I bought mine in 2020 for $3900 delivered to my door and have over 2000 miles on it. My only mods are different pedals and a larger front sprocket.
Me too. Love my X2 Ludicrous
Awesome
I like the fact it is duel purposed and I actually prefer the tire size over Fat tire ebike. I would have thought the LMX 64 would have had a higher top speed. There are plenty of Ebikes out there that will do 28 MPH but lack the torque this bike has. For me I would not buy this bike because the set position in relationship to the style of handlebars puts you in an aggressive bent over position which is used mainly in mountain biking. I would prefer one for street purposes but that would allow me to go of on a trail if I choose to. The Freedomwire is closer to the speed and upright positions I would like but it too has it design flaws.
🐝🏁 Video 👍, ebikes
I totally love the idea of this bike. I think I would love it more if it was a fat tire, but a mid fat was good branded tires would work for me. Unfortunately, I don't think I could bring myself to spend more than about 3500 maybe $3800 for a good bike. This is out of my range sadly.
You need to Photoshop your face onto the rider. Live vicariously!
Why do you not have any bikes from Luna Cycles like the x2? You can buy a 2000 watt X2 and a lot of chains for a little more than have of the cost of this bike. Same weight too.
Seems like enough power to pull a small utility trailor, or jump a fallen tree trunk while im trail riding...
My ex-wife and daughters mom needs this, and a guy or two on the side, and all these guys have to pay her rent, vehicle payments, and of course, a wadd of child support.
SEM Venome Evolution is sim but 4,000 Watts
I wood like to try it out with my speedrid ebike. Send it to for review
please do it! (love)
Would it be comfortable I'm 6'8" 250 lbs
🤨🤔🧐I would like to know if it bike can claim up the hill beside going down hill, would it be stressful going up the hill then going down hill then I can say it is worth it and how many miles will the battery last for longest range Riding it bike for how many days after chargen????????? 🕵️🙄
Is the top speed 28 mph
Does it have true paddle assist
What is its range when riding moderately
Will the manual gears keep up pedaling on flat ground at full power
Sure it even has a torque sensor, that should have been mentioned in the video
So what is the top speed and the range, thx
@@hhazelhoff1363 the top speed is 45kph, range depends on the speed, the newer LMX56 has 1kWh of battery
Battery seems quite weak for that power of motor
sem venom is the same bike but with 4000w and better suspension
So much torque power at the rear wheel! It would go through tires, brake pads and put a lot of stress on the spokes.
I have an el cheapo 1000w Ebike from China, and after it reaches 34kph (its top speed is 43kph), I really need an oversized front sprocket to have any pedal resistance, because it feels pretty much like riding a 50cc motorbike after that. I've owned it for over a year and have 3000+ kilometers on it.
The bike is still Ok, but it is really just a commuter bike that looks like a mountain bike. High power E-bikes definitely require really strong components, as the jumps will be higher and therefore stronger impacts on forks, pedal components, frames, etc. I learnt this from my bike as it couldn't withstand the abuse.
It would be probably be better just to get a SurRon type bike, as it would be more durable and cost less. The only gain you get is that it is stealth motorbike that is disguised as a mountain bike.
The problem I see with this is the price. Yes it has 10 times the power of some of the other bikes in this price range. Of course, you must mention that these other bikes are a true class one and are eligible for competition. This is the reason they only have 250 W motor with 750 W peak. I wonder how much of the market is willing to pay this type of a price and they are not so involved as they dabble in some competition. Seems like from a marketing standpoint. This would be a very limited. interesting bike all the same.
I would think just the opposite. Most riders do not compete and so to me the competition riders are a much smaller group
Not exactly cheap can get a cheap conversion kits for less than £500 that will match the performance of this bike even 5000w or 7500w mid drive kits with battery or can get a stealth bomber nearly 70 mph
Nice! A lightweight SurRon for only $7500!!! Sign me up!
Banda alegria dessa bicicleta vermelha aí fica cantando um vídeos link
What happened to wattwagons. Was a similar bike but I feel like they silently went under
My WattWagon is a great Ebike, I've had mine 6 months & it's an excellent bike.
@@dennisboyd1712 I've had mine 2 years. But the company you can't get ahold of anymore.
7.5K? The market for this bike doesn’t exist.
😍👍🏻
I got questions
First how many miles can you go on a single charge
That's me is extremely important and I do mean extremely important
Weekend bike packing photographer
On a weekend I can travel up to 120 mi in just 2 days I have been known to do 260 in 2 days strictly Saturday and Sunday
As I said bike packing photography and camping
Being blind as I am cars are no longer an option and with my permanent contagious in the brain stem and ocular migraines going super fast is not so much of an option either just a steady 15 maybe to 18 mph with me my bike packing gear and my camera gear
So you say the bike is 65 lb the self is fine well you also said it's 180 mm both front and rear that is very important because I don't have any risks they have been shattered many many years ago and with a bad back yes I have to have a full suspension I would love to test this out for about 6 months from back and forth to work to going to Cuyahoga valley and other various places Way out West way out South, East and back for my 2-day adventures and not including my week long trip so as I said the battery has to go for a very long time
My longest Ride was nearly over a thousand miles in just under 24 hours and I do mean under just by 8 minutes
64 for 64 cells in the battery not 64lbs. ;-)
2500 watts is 3 horse power
That's an electric moped. NOT a bicycle
This begs the question, is there still a ton of toxic backlash on the trails for ebikers not "earning" their downhills? This is going to drive people absolutely bonkers!
I'm sure as when they see you riding up the hill as fast as you went down the hill!
I love the idea but price is just a bit much .....I would not say no if someone wanted to give me one
Please let me hear about the biktrix ?!
Not sure if I'm allowed to say or not.
Can’t be at fault . I’m dying to know man . Is it a larger or more powerful motor or larger volt battery ? Would a xd controller handle a 60v?
@@Area13ebikes it’s killing me man lol Im dying to know
I f***&& like it though!
It's worth it.. but 7500$, is above my budget..:/
You need to get a 60 volt 2200 watt Wired Freedom
They offered at one point but it hasn't come through. Torque wise I don't think there would be any comparison. The LMX will blow it away.
Any chance you have an old ebike you could gift id love to start an ebike review channel but i cant afford one as i had a baby just before christmas.@@Area13ebikes
$7,499
I would buy one if it was a belt drive gearbox rear hub and belt e-drive
I suppose that could be done.
IGH not really needed when you have the motor driving a dedicated power train to the rear like this bike does.
Trying to put that much power through any conventional MTB drivetrain would not last long, and that's where IGH would make sense.
I have a Kindernay 7 on a Bafang Ultra powered Dengfu e22. And I only went the IGH because I kept rounding the teeth over on conventional cassette.
But Sram NX weighs about the same as an IGH. So I guess you wouldn't really feel any difference haha
This is exactly what is causing municipal governments to make E-bike bans. Unless you create a privately owned trail park, where you can risk only your own physical safety, then these are going to cause problems for everyone. 😢
It has a trail mode though...
Yeah this has no use case at this price. its a overpriced under powered surron with pedals you won't need anymore.
A high end brand name 750w e mountain bike is around $5000. Your paying for more then the battery and drive, your paying for all the other high end components also. A high end mountain bike no electric can be up to 4000.
@@boblatkey7160 Not that is a foolish comment for sure.
Top notch components, your making out that they are giving you top components for free,no sorry kid, people are paying almost 8,000 of their hard earned dollars to own this machine,so for nearly 8grand everything should be top parts,
Too expensive not enough info, gears, brakes, frame, wheels and tires??? Horrible. 😂
I could make it weigh less and have more power.
Yeah this is what a 13 year old Johnny needs. Ripping up the local park and ridding the local hiking trails. What a danger to all of us. BTW it’s not a MTB it’s a emotorcycle
Note it’s a mtb with a crazy motor
Then you hit a tree and your life is over! 😵
I couldn’t watch the whole vid because your music was way too loud for your voice.
It’s currently listed at $7,400! Since “anyone “ can buy them, how about sending ME ONE FOR FREE?! Since you don’t have the mental capacity to understand the struggles of trying to survive… I’m a 57 yr old Veteran living in a fixed income.. I’m one of MANY Veterans who will NEVER EVER get to have one . 😢. So how about you show a little more RESPECT with your assumptions about EVERYONE being able to spend money THEY WILL NEVER HAVE! 🤔🙄
Haw haw

Top bike , looks amazing will definitely be selling my 3 other e-bikes now and look into investing in the LMX , I can appreciate the level of work that's been put into this powerhouse beast and would love to unleash the dragon . What a weapon of a bike and so unassuming too . Love it ! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Get a second job and stop complaining you big baby. Wa, wa ,wa. Geeeez
I will not spend a penny over 500 bucks on a bicycle 😅

I’d have to ride one and see. I have a Luna cycle z1. I like it. But Id like it more if it rode like a 450cc 4 stroke.
