Hi, I bought your course but I cant find the template you are saying we can download it and use it.
Does this course happen at a certain time or is it a watch as you go? I am a visual learner with some learning disabilities.
Still works? Willing to make a purchase.
These videos are a god send. I have watched countless hours of other videos to get 1/10th the amount of information compiled here. Thank you.
Omg I love your content, I’ve accidentally become a author and I’m dieing over here with getting this word file formatted. I was all done and published to Kdp and realized there’s some funky blank spaces all of a sudden.. errrr
I totally understand you when you say "accidentally become". Same shoes
Well done, Mandi. Thank you for being a great human and adding value to other people's lives. Following you!
Thank you so much for this video Mandi. Your amazing. I am currently in the editing phase and I really needed this so Thanks. Keep being the awesome person you are.
Thank you for these videos! I am so glad I found your channel.
Thank you so much, your videos have been such a huge help! I just got one of your books and can’t wait to read it. 😊
I'm so glad!
Super useful for beginners thanks for sharing
I'm sorry, I had to pause and geek when I spotted the Skinjacker Trilogy on your shelf! I love those books!
Great content ❤
Great info and needed this today :) thank you!
So glad!
Thank you, Mandi. I will be using your InDesign Adobe formatting. I have questions about what is necessary for disclaimers. I have written a Historical fiction book that references several factual historical events and people, yet the overall book is fiction.
Thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
Where would you suggest inserting a promo for previous books released by the author that are still available, with a link to purchase them?
I’ve heard it’s best to place those things in the front matter (like an Also By page), but I’ve also seen them in the back of books as a Call to Action page, with newsletter links and any social media stuff. So, a personal choice by the author I think.
Thank you! Please can you make a video on copyright application and everything? Many thanks for considering my request.
Nice
Yes please…a video on copyright and should we wait to publish while waiting for the copyright
I'm also for a video about Copyright 👀
PS: your bitly link to your course has not worked for several weeks now
I tested the link and it still works, but you can access it directly here: stoneridgebooks.teachable.com/p/formatting-print-books-and-ebooks-using-adobe-indesign
Good subject. This video might not have mentioned the important information of how much Adobe In-Design costs, and whether it has a monthly charge. If so, I might prefer Kotobee.
The other video I mentioned (which is linked in the description) goes into more detail on the cost breakdown
I would love a video on copyright! I'm planning on publishing later this year and it would be so helpful. 🧡 I love this video!
Coming up very soon!
@@MandiLynnWrites Can't wait! 💕
Do we make a copyright page or is it provided by kdp?
You have to create is.
A copyright page video would be cool. I'm in Canada and have not found much on it. Still looking into it. If your book has any trigger warnings in it would you put that in the front or in the description on the website?
Canadian too. For copyright pages, just include: Your general copyright (book title, copyright of ‘author name’), your ‘rights reserved and ‘no part of this may be copied’ and ‘names, places, people are used fictiously’ legal jargon. Add your credits (cover designer, interior formatting credits, any interior art credits, etc), and your edition number and ISBN (you can add both paperback or ebook ISBN or just the single ISBN of the specific file you’re working in-so, in ebook you just include the ebook’s ISBN).
As far as trigger warnings, I’d include it in the book (and, depending on how long it is) in the Amazon description.
Yes, I would like to hear more about 'Copyrights.' if needed or not. Second, please let me know if there is a standard for 'Disclaimer' or find one you want. Lastly, I reference Bible verses; how does one get NIV ok to use it? I just joined your site. I find your site more friendly than a few others, thanks.
Table of Contents is common for fiction when we are talking about short story collections or anthologies.
I have a question if anyone can tell me, I know a lot of people write their book on a different software than the software they will format their book with, my question is how do they transfer their manuscript into the formating software without issues?
Depends on the software, but generally, I’ve seen a lot of people convert their stories to Word documents, then upload them into their formatting program.
@mandilynnwrites i hate to bother you, but can you point me to your video where you discuss utilizing adobe indesign,, and is there a way to flow from a word doc into indesign?
The video is linked in the description, but you can also find it here: th-cam.com/video/TUk_s4uSuNc/w-d-xo.html
Copyright would be a super useful video. I'm in Canada and not too sure how to go about getting my book copyrighted.
I'm in the US so I'm not sure how much of the info will overlap, but I'll do some research!
Ditto but Australia (so know it’ll be way different, but a idea/guidelines would be helpful)
I'd love more info on the copyright page.
I can not get into the site, and may already be signed up.
If you have not linked your Teachable Account to your student account, you will be unable to see the course in the Teachable Account Dashboard.
In this instance, you will need to go to stoneridgebooks.teachable.com/sign_in and do not press "Log in with Teachable" to sign in. Sign in using the email and password section at the top. Please see this screenshot that illustrates this: share.getcloudapp.com/v1uQ92jv
Great video but TH-cam really takes away from it with 7 ad breaks

Can I hire you to format a book. I have tried everything to get this right with my formatter and I can't deal with him anymore. He can not get it right.
Hi mandi Lynn you talking my mind talks. I am from Bangladesh i doing 26 year's book selling job iloved too mouch.
Mandi, as one of your biggest fans, I need to ask, can I use an "email blast" to connect with agents and queries to them? If anyone would know, you would
I wouldn’t recommend it.
@@MandiLynnWrites and is this because it's too informal? I am sending out 150 query letters and they are ALL personalized. It is a lot of work and probably could finish a whole book in the time it takes me to do that. I'm sure other writers are curious about how to get these queries out more judiciously than that. Thanks, Stefanie
YES please make a copyright video :)
